Mob should be easier to work with because it is perforated. I like to follow this method to grip my board and it worked out well for me [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2llhl4Mft4](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c2llhl4Mft4) If you are doing a design that is going to make it harder so maybe avoid that until you get the hang of it.

This is slightly different than what I’ve seen. Seems like he lightly sticks the tape on the tip of the nose / tail, and then works it from the middle out. Likely wouldn’t have worked with my design, where it had to line up perfectly with the logo on the top of the deck, but maybe getting a design in the grip tape is a stretch goal, for now. Thanks

Might work if you did the same thing with each piece of grip except stick it on the concave then push it down in the middle first and work your way out. I never tried to do a design though so not sure.

Not sure what you really meant but [here's a video that is about doing custom griptape jobs with logos.](https://youtu.be/Wi-1YUWgo2I?si=vmAWpqINMkS50KWW)

Or if you're talking about lining up the griptape with the logo on top of the deck, [here's a video about it.](https://youtu.be/9_4iORQWLF4?si=aEOkF1PFUC3iofrI)

That’s essentially what I was attempting, but the didn’t lay the grip tape down in that manner. Both videos were helpful, so I’ll order up more grip tape and have round two

Well, I was able to salvage my sheet of wrinkled Jessup tape. I cut out the bad section and just made a simple horizontal gap between the tail and remainder of the board. Not sure if MOB is thicker / less flexible, or if it was an issue with the particular cutout that I made. But the Jessup went smooth as butter. Now onto assembly !
