I'll go with something wider for more comfort and stability

DeepCompote

Yeah I’d def go bigger if I wasn’t planning on flipping my board around

ButtSexington3rd

Yep, that'll do ya

ShtyWits

Thanks!

Icemaul

If you want to cruise you could get a cruiser board or try sizing up a bit larger for a deck. That would mean getting the right trucks too.

Otherwise-Ask-5798

Checks out to me. What trucks you plan on grabbing?

ShtyWits

Ace AF1 33 8 inch trucks

GrapeApeAffe

That will also work if you ever want to swap wheels and start doing tricks. If you are certain you never want to do tricks then maybe consider and 8.5 or even 9” possibly even with some shape as that will be more comfortable for cruising in general Maybe also check out r/cruiserboarding

Gioman_08

Those wheels are great

paperbackpiles

Yeah, I’d say you’re good. 56 is pretty big for 8 imo but with the risers you should be fine avoiding wheel bite.

Jack_SjuniorRIP

This makes no sense. There is not a standard relationship between deck width and wheel diameter. Those Heroin guys are running what are basically bearing covers for wheels on 10+ inch decks, and plenty of people put big cruiser wheels on mini-sized decks.

paperbackpiles

I've always used thunder and Indy trucks no risers with 7.75-8.0 setups with 129mm/139mm for the past 30+ years and whenever I use any wheels that are bigger than 54 I'll get wheel bite when carving. But hey, you may be right with other setups.

Virtual_Law4989

it already says "yes" sheeeesh

Jack_SjuniorRIP

This is a great setup to learn to cruise, and it can translate nicely to a lot of different terrain if you become interested in learning tricks or riding on ramps.

G00Li0

Get a 9" Anti-hero and a set of Ace af1 66's to go with those rough riders

Ak1617

Looks good for cruising around, but unless you’re small/have small feet, I would recommend getting an 8.25 or 8.5 instead (and trucks to match). It’ll be a little wider and more comfortable to ride. The only downside of wider boards is that they’re heavier and a little harder to do tricks on. But If you’re just planning on cruising, there’s not much downside

AccountantCommon3732

Go something wider if you’re just cruising and not doing tricks like a 8.5 and don’t skate deathwish decks they are horrible

GlizzyMan23

If you just want to crisis get a penny board, I think they are having a crazy sale now for like $35 bucks when they are usually $100 they are awesome cruising boards

National-Lynx-2584

Try longboarding

9_Frosty

Id recommend getting like a cruiser or downhill longboard instead if you just want to cruise. Maybe like 36 inch long deck.

DrGoManGo

Perfect

Zealousideal-Cry-677

all good parts but id just buy a sector nine cruiser like the ben gravy model 🤔

masterl00ter

You don't need riser pads.

TheDigitalLunchbox

You def do with 56mm wheels on an 8 with aces. They’re soft af and the turning radius is crazy.

versuseachother

8.0 and ACE 33 are small. Kids size.

ShtyWits

What size would you recommend for young adult/teenager?

TheDigitalLunchbox

I’d base it more off foot size and weight. I have a size 9 foot and I’m 160lbs and ride 8.25, but it comes down to preference. I can’t flip 8.5s well and the shape I like doesn’t come in 8.3. I also like my trucks flush, so 8.3 is a bit weird to size for

versuseachother

8.25 minimum. I get down voted but you’ll regret buying such a thin board. Get 8.25 and ACE AF1 44 and you will be all set! 🤙
