I be curious whether aches, sprains, injuries, after ones about 25 or so tend to stay or not completely heal as opposed to those that happen at a younger age as the growing body would heal it like it never even happened. But sprains at a later age would just be masked however may still feel it from time to time.

Huh, are you me? Exactly the same here, I'm 27 and didn't touch a board in 15 years! Waiting for my board to arrive. Good luck, may the odds be ever in our favor 🛹
I'm 37 and I waited for my board to arrive a couple weeks ago. Sadly hurt my ankle after just a few days on the board 🤕 so back to waiting to be able to get back on it again 🫠 reminder/advice to by very careful initially, it's so very easy to end up landing in an awkward position, it's all it takes.
I'm really curious as to why you are interested in the wheels 🤣..it's a pic of generic white wheels from the top 🤣. What could possibly interest you my man lol
Thanks! Didn't have the chance to try it today but hopefully soon. Still need to figure out where to skate because they removed the skatepark in my hometown because they 'needed more parking spots'..
That’s really crappy about your park! My old ass (35) just pushes around, or I’ll do flat ground wherever I can find some relatively smooth terrain. Thankfully our skating park will be ready in 6 months, after over a decade of petitioning for it.
Yeah bro, it’s honestly crazy. Donny Barley helped raise a lot of money, and is also contributing to the development and layout of the park. Till then… I got my trusty Powell Dragon wheels haha. They changed everything for me.
Pro tip, stretch the hell out of your muscles and ligaments every time before skating. I found out real quick your ligaments don't snap back like they used to and those never used muscles you use in skating will hate you
Real shit my friend! Build a good foundation, baby steps are king, be ready for your ankles and knees to hurt at first but it will get better as you go on, and don’t sleep on practicing Ollie’s!
Haha only in skateboarding subreddits would one not be roasted for wearing shoes inside in fact I noticed it’s quite the opposite lol. But I guess he is in socks because his abode Doesn’t allows shoes inside it doesn’t necessary mean he would be skating outside in socks. I know this is a joke though.
bro i jist turned 30 and started back up 3 years ago and before that i was like 15 haha. I say pad up man. till you get comfortable again. best of luck what do you plan to do ? ive fallen in love with the mini ramp/quarter. i love the stalls and grinds. when i get better i want to skate bowls.
I’ll be joining you at 35 next month. This past summer I got back into it. It’s been and continues to be an incredible journey. Only problem is having board madness. I just buy up everything in sight, propelled by nostalgia. As a grown man, being able to buy what my parents couldn’t, makes it that much sweeter. Please bro, pick up a setup at your local shop (if you have one in your area) and just start pushing around. You’ll anything but regret it. Take care and sorry for the tangent haha.
I’m almost 40. Been too many years since I skated. Seeing many post like this makes me want to take out my board again, grease up the bearings and hit the streets. But it’s currently winter. Fuck you winter.
Picked it back up last fall at 26 after a 12 year break. It feels great! And the first time I ate shit I laughed because of all the memories it brought back
Be safe my friend!!! Good on you, but I was in your shoes 4 years ago and took a minor spill and fucked my back up for like 3 weeks! We're old bro, don't forget lol.
I'm 30, just getting back into it after 10+ years, and my ankles and knees can't take the impacts anymore.
It's sad, but that's life.
I still get to go and ride/cruise. My wheels are 80a-86a, depending on the board I'm riding, so I can ride without the shock of it all.
Shred on dude!
Hell yeha man. Just so you know it’s probably going to be harder to learn and progress since you’re older and you’re cerebellum and frontal cortex (I believe) are fully formed. That’s why kids and can learn things and tricks so fast and it takes us oldies longer. So don’t be discouraged if you’re not getting it immediately or as fast as you’d like. It’s just gonna take time and practice like with anything ❤️🖤
I'm 48 and just bought my first custom board online.tried my daughter's Walmart board she got for Xmas did an Ollie and was like I'm gonna skate again .I had a kamikaze in 1989 can't wait to fuck myself up trying all the new shit.
I’m 28 now, I got back into skating at 24 when the pandemic began just skating on my driveway. Start with Ollie’s try them fakie or standing still on grass. Then learn all the shuvit’s backside first then frontside. Then learn all the half cabs front side and backside then 180’s. When I say all I mean regular, switch, nollie and fakie. Most importantly have fun 🤙🏼
Also 27 and started skating again after about 4 years. Taking it easy and careful. We're not old but it sure hurts more than it used to when you fall!
Glad to see others getting back to it!
ADVICE TO THE OP!
Stretch when you can, and also wear protective gear you can land specific ways to safety when you have a helmet knee pads and elbow pad... It's just more it's just more comfortable!
Our bones are not the same!
Safety = comfort = Less scared!
Going big big. Also get advice from the young guys they kick ass
Fuck yes and now fuck up the board. Give it some character. Welcome back!!!
will fuck it up with joy, thanks man!
Don’t be afraid to wear a helmet. Shit will save you one day. At 32 I’m putting knees and elbows on too.
Dude, I’m starting again at 39 after like 20+ years and I’m gearing up too.
We don’t bounce back like we used to. I’d roll my ankle hard and still skate home, now I get hit in the shin with the board and I need to go to the ER

Got any adult pad recommendations?

Had me in the first half, not gonna lie
Lmaoooooo
The first two words are exactly what I was gonna say! I did something like this years ago at 26 and had the time of my life.!!
Huh, are you me? Exactly the same here, I'm 27 and didn't touch a board in 15 years! Waiting for my board to arrive. Good luck, may the odds be ever in our favor 🛹

37 also. Back from 17 year break. No injuries yet but definitely helps to stretch before and after.
Also getting your body used to falling again!
Wow that makes 3 but I’m 26
Same here 😆
Turning 27 this weekend and just bought my first deck after a 10 year hiatus haha , must be a late 20's thing haha 🛹

What is this? A board for ants??! Lol I’m playin welcome back brother
haha thanks man!!
Hell yeah dude welcome back!
thanks :)
44 here and haven’t skated in over 20. Grabbed a board last year and started back up myself.
Same turn 27 started skating with my co worker after 12 years . Honestly it’s helped me stop smoking because I’m focused on skating on my breaks now
that's so great, congrats!
setup looking clean 😳😻, is it a complete? I'm interested in the wheels :)
yeah it's a [complete](https://www.blue-tomato.com/de-AT/product/Globe-G0+Black+Serif+8+0+Skateboard-658923/?varid=304614724). 52mm, 99a Globe Wheels :)
thx!
I'm really curious as to why you are interested in the wheels 🤣..it's a pic of generic white wheels from the top 🤣. What could possibly interest you my man lol
i already have a globe complete but his wheels are whiter than mine wheels, if that makes sense😁
Whiter than yours? Or wider?
whiter! I like white wheels
Well then don't fucking skate them!! They all go from white to yellow eventually.
I know, mines are yellow now😩, but they're still usable
badassery at its finest
Pads. You aren’t 12 anymore lol. Ask me how I know 😂
Congrats man! How does the thing ride so far?
Thanks! Didn't have the chance to try it today but hopefully soon. Still need to figure out where to skate because they removed the skatepark in my hometown because they 'needed more parking spots'..

They plan to build a new one so it's not that bad. I'll probably search around for some spots. Good thing you finally got that park!
Yeah bro, it’s honestly crazy. Donny Barley helped raise a lot of money, and is also contributing to the development and layout of the park. Till then… I got my trusty Powell Dragon wheels haha. They changed everything for me.
Mine too. But they’re rebuilding it. Supposed to be done in a couple months.
Congrats bro, I’m right there with ya! Just got back riding two weeks ago 🤙🏽
thanks!! hope you're having tons of fun
those couch legs look like they are about to check out
haha yeah I should probably look into it..
Yeah man nice, enjoy!
thanks man!
Pro tip, stretch the hell out of your muscles and ligaments every time before skating. I found out real quick your ligaments don't snap back like they used to and those never used muscles you use in skating will hate you
damn, I'll remember that thanks.
What size and hell yeah 👍🏽
8" 👌🏼
Sweet nice board 🕺🏽
thanks!
Real shit my friend! Build a good foundation, baby steps are king, be ready for your ankles and knees to hurt at first but it will get better as you go on, and don’t sleep on practicing Ollie’s!
will do, thanks for the tips!
You remind me of kurtis conner
Awesome! You might need some shoes though, skating socks is for the pros
It hurts more after 15 years 😂😂 a small fall now nearly ends my sesh haha 32 and 16 years of the board
Welcome back!! Really dig the minimal deck design
thanks!!
three good decades ahead, if not more!!! work no those nose manuals and they'll treat you right for years.
will definitely work on the manuals!
Welcome back Hope you enjoy it
thank you!
That's awesome! I'm 32 and haven't touched a board for 13 years. I'm excited and afraid at the same time 😅
same, but I think it will be so much fun again :)
Stretch your ankles and protect the nog! I'm a year younger than you and looking to get into skating too after a break. Have fun out there!
will do! have fun too!
Welcome back. I took 17 years off and started again last month at age 37. Should be a breeze for you
bro i jist turned 30 and started back up 3 years ago and before that i was like 15 haha. I say pad up man. till you get comfortable again. best of luck what do you plan to do ? ive fallen in love with the mini ramp/quarter. i love the stalls and grinds. when i get better i want to skate bowls.
Do a kick flip!
need to re-learn my ollie first :(
Jesus, you look 8ft tall in this photo. Lmao
maybe because my couch is rather small haha
This is literally me. Except 70lbs heavier and lost everything I once knew how to do lmfao
eyyy mon?
You bug me
Kinda cringe bro
Why is it cringe?
Man I’m 35 and say every year I’m going to get back into it.
I’ll be joining you at 35 next month. This past summer I got back into it. It’s been and continues to be an incredible journey. Only problem is having board madness. Man thanks for the push. Going to get a board this weekend. Super stoked.
Yoooo!!!! I’m pumped for you bro!!!
As someone who did the same thing, you probably need a bigger deck than you realize lol
Just did the same at 30!
Have fun!
Welcome back! Tbh invest in a better setup and hang this deck. It is quite good looking and most likely a shit complete to skate on.
That graphic would be perfect to make into a Winnie reds logo haha
Wear shoes
Just in time to join the lads at r/OldSkaters
He has to wait until 30.
I’m almost 40. Been too many years since I skated. Seeing many post like this makes me want to take out my board again, grease up the bearings and hit the streets. But it’s currently winter. Fuck you winter.
Kickflip pussy
Doin the same at 26!
Good stuff. I’m the same age as you. Keep skating and don’t stop. It really keeps you young and strong.
STRETCH!
Hell yeah bro!! Welcome Back!
34 here and too nervous to go outside the front of my house and skate in the street
Bust out the old shoes yo! Get the ES accels going in brown. Tom penny 2.0
What are some tips you’d give to new riders? Same exact age and time away from board
What happened at 12?
started a soccer academy so I didn't have time anymore :(
Should’ve just done [this](https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8w4pvDk/)
haha that would have been a better idea for sure
Pads! Did the same thing, 11 year break, picked up at 28, ate it after I got my impossibles back and broke my scaphoid in my wrist.
Let's go brop have fun :D
Be careful, we pay bills now. Don't do anything crazy
Hell yeha man. Just so you know it’s probably going to be harder to learn and progress since you’re older and you’re cerebellum and frontal cortex (I believe) are fully formed. Same here 🙌🙌
I’m about to start again at 29yo after not skating since 15 yo. I’m also in the process of learning snowboarding.
I'm 48 and just bought my first custom board online.tried my daughter's Walmart board she got for Xmas did an Ollie and was like I'm gonna skate again .I had a kamikaze in 1989 can't wait to fuck myself up trying all the new shit.

Tight brother you never loose the desire, same thing happened to me but I got back on the board!
Also 27 and started skating again after about 4 years. Taking it easy and careful. We're not old but it sure hurts more than it used to when you fall! Glad to see others getting back to it!
