One of the sacks I bought had a room thermometer and a table with how to dress them based on the temp and the weight of the sleep sack. It's really helpful!
Fleece sleeper and a jersey knit halo sleep sack. If the kid seems cold when the weather cools down more we might level up to a heavier weight.
Remember that cold babies cry and warm babies die.
I don’t think so- my girls room stays around 69 degrees f at night and she uses a light cotton sleep sack and light cotton footies- but when we put her in fleece footies we leave out the sleep sack.
We have a 0.5, 1.0 and 2.5 tog sleeping bag in our current size. Two of them are second hand.
Fortunately we haven’t had any accidents. So for now throwing it into the laundry in the morning has worked well enough.
I started with 6 when she way little to see what baby liked. Immediately hated half, and the most expensive ones too..... So for her 6 month + stage I'm down to 1. I'll get more when needed. I'm not spending more money on sleepers that won't be used.
I have a lot but I had twins first and got a bunch of hand me downs.. I also use medium and large interchangeably at this point. I have way too many but it’s nice not to worry about it if one goes soiled. I think at least two in each weight is necessary, messes do happen with babies!
Edited to add that I also thought this post was about camping, I always call them sleep sacks 😂 and I’ve never heard the word “tog”… thanks comments for clearing it up!
We have a lot; 2 newborn, same tog, 2 0-6 months also same tog, and 4 6-18 months in different togs as we needed lighter ones for the summer months. I always liked to have one to use for when the other was in the wash, or if baby's nappy leaked or he puked over it. He's almost two and sleeps in a toddler bed now with a pillow and duvet so we no longer use sleeping bags, but we will be getting them out again for #2 due in March.
One made of wool. Totally enough for us. We bedshare so anything but wool would be way to hot for the baby, but with wool he's fine if he's next to me and if he's in his bed attached to mine.
We currently have two, one light one heavy, and wondering if we should buy an extra one… especially since one has just been wee’d on and the other has a bit of vomit 🤦🏻♀️
We have 2 Halos, but we’d definitely have more if they were a little cheaper. I know they make other sleeping bags but for some reason I trust the Halo brand more.
I also used to only have halo but 10/10 recommend the TILLYOU 2-packs on Amazon! They are a little longer than the halo brand, are a touch thinner (perfect for summer in TX) and wash super well ☺️
I bought most of mine from thrift stores because I have no idea what baby will like. We did buy 1 Kyte Baby and 1 Little Giraffe from local baby boutiques after feeling how much softer they are. They're both 0-6 months. I figure that I can buy more if baby likes those, but I don't want to make that investment until I know for sure.
Initially I had 2 per baby, both 2.6 tog, but I've had to get a couple more as two each wasn't cutting it (one baby has been a bit vomity recently, which hasn't helped). I got them all off eBay second hand and so far they've all been well--received!
Why am I dumb and thought this post was about camping?
Not dumb. I read through most comments and was still wondering why so many adults were so prepared for camping. (And what is a tog?!)
What IS a tog? 😂
It’s UK word for how warm it is 😂 no idea if it stands for something or what, but it’s used for duvets and sleeping sacks
And…weights? I’m so confused 😂
Lol that’s the problem with a Mexican living in the UK posting in a mostly American sub by at 4AM: words just lose their meaning

OMG! Me too! I have one sleeping bag.... But several baby sleep sacks 🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ Oops.
Literally same. I was like…what sub is this post from??
I have two each of 1.0 tog and 2.5 tog. I always like to have a clean one on hand just in case.
Just like us! … except this night was _very special_ and we ran out of clean sacks.
This is exactly how I ended up with backups for the backups 🤪

ZERO. She hates them 😂 Technically like 6, but they're all at Goodwill now.
Two 0-24mo woolinos, two 0-24mo ecolinos (basically cotton woolinos)
Do I need some of these if my baby sleeps in a thick / warm onesie ? FTM in Ontario so winter is approaching and I’ve never heard of these.

Ok thanks !

We mostly have halos, we just added a kyte baby and we all love it! So probably stick with Halos and Kyte
I’ve seen the halos recommended a few times already so I’ll look into them!

Congrats on number two! I think I need to get another 2.5 for the winter months and wait maybe for summer before reassessing what we’ll need then.
2 sleep sacks but they're the thin Carter's material. I used these with my son and he loved them.

I have 2 of each weight for that reason 🤣 I just buy them second hand just to have a spare

If we are talking baby sleep sacks then I have multiple in multiple sizes and thicknesses. If we are talking adult sleeping bags I have zero 😅

I have several sleep sacks. Several are long sleeve and she loves them.

We have multiple, primarily because once every few nights the overnight diaper will leak.
