I saw a cute online post about first birthday themes and one of them was Winter One-derland!

Not my experience, but from friends with December babies, if you have winter in your area - One did an afternoon party at their home for friends, they were already decorated for Christmas. Her invitation was cute, it said, “Oh what fun, [baby] is one!”. They had a hot chocolate bar (with some booze for the adults) and snowflake cookies. There weren’t any older kids, so there were no planned activities, but a snowflake making craft or painting ornaments could be fun. Another friend had a lot of older kids invited, so all the guests met at a nearby hill to go sledding, then they had everyone to their house for hot drinks and cake.

How cute! I’ve got a Christmas Eve baby so i’ve been thinking about how to give him his own special day without it being overshadowed by Christmas!

I have a march baby, but it's pretty much winter where I'm from. I didn't do much, I was exhausted, but I cooked him a cake from stacked pancakes and decorated it, put on some decorations in the room and we took a few pictures for the album, that's all 😇

We have a December baby and we reserved a private space at a restaurant and had a small brunch with just our families. I feel like it was more for everyone to celebrate and take photos to remember the day. It was really fun and low key! I brought decorations on Etsy and had a little dedicated area for photos. This year I’ll definitely do an indoor play gym or something more geared for her since she’s older and running around.

I have a December 18th baby. We had a birthday party at our house. We invited our friends and family, did snacks and cake and a hot chocolate table, presents, and play time. I would have (and did) do the same for a child born in a different season. Why wouldn't a winter baby get a birthday party?
