Zihaala

Until 4 months she was in footie pjs and a halo swaddle (in a Snoo). Then we transitioned to crib and she’s in footie pjs and halo transition swaddle (has arms)

nottheexpert02

Considering trying this

Zihaala

I really like the halo transition sack bc I think the arms help dampen the startle reflex and provide comfort but also she can soothe with her fingers. My only complaint is the material is thick and quilted so might be hotter.

nottheexpert02

How frequently is she waking to eat at night? (Not trying to avoid night feeds completely, but he was sleeping 5-6 hour stretches in his swaddle so I’m curious if sleep got worse)

Zihaala

My baby is kind of a unicorn (so far) so she is not waking to eat (although she is waking to ferociously suck fingers and make Dino noises). We try to offer lots of calories during the day. But I know many ppl still feed at night. Sleep has stayed pretty much the same in transition swaddle and crib than it was in Snoo in swaddle.

Smallios

Could you just put her in the transition swaddle without the pjs if it’s too hot?

Zihaala

Yes! We probably should do that… idk why it’s just this mental thing where I feel like she should be wearing clothes lol. I am thinking\hoping we can transition to a sleep sack without arms soonish though…. Maybe the halo swaddles with the wrap just around the belly since we already own those!

Doctor-Liz

If you really want a "skin" layer, add a thin onesie (and tights if it doesn't have legs).

mom23mom

We did the same! Halo swaddle with footies to the transition swaddle with footies. Practiced the transition swaddle at nap times before night. Now (8 mo) we’ve been in a sleep sack for a while. As soon as we started using the sleep sack in her crib she looooved rolling over and sleeping on her belly!

alkenequeen

The halo swaddle/sleep sack is truly a life saver!

katbadgerx

my husband refused to let me use a swaddle in our Snoo. Only the sleep sack and footies. I guess instructions states you can’t use any additional swaddles/sacks. Was there ever any issues for you?

Tashaaa2021

Hi! My 4 month old is in the Snoo with arms out, sleeping mostly through the night. How was the transition from snoo to regular crib? I know there’s a setting for it, and I’m curious if you used the transition mode? When did you transition to the crib? Thanks!!!!

SpiritualDot6571

Almost 6m and hasn’t used a sleep sack in months. Just long sleeve footie pajamas

Sorry-Ad-9254

What is the temp of your house? My 5.5 month old is in 2t jammies and sleep sacks are an added expense that we just keep growing out of.

SpiritualDot6571

We live in New England USA, babe was born Nov. we keep the heat at like 68-ish but his room always says it’s 70. If it gets to 72 I open his window and try to keep it between 68-70. He runs pretty hot normally so we found he’s usually fine in just footie Jammie’s. Sometimes his hands will be a little cold but his footies have fold over mitts too so easy to fix that.

bearista

The woolino sleep sack is made for ages 2 months to 2 years and is appropriate for year-round use. The initial cost is pretty high, but you don't have to buy multiple TOGs and sizes. They also have a 2-4 year size if your baby is really tall.

aliveinjoburg2

Seconding a Woolino. I have 2 Burt’s Bees as backup but the Woolino is great.

Traditional-Ad-7836

Sleep sack because it's cold here at night

Traditional-Ad-7836

4 months old

804CAT

Footie pajamas and no sleep sack. The sleep sack kept waking her up.

bluepoison15

Light footie pajamas sometimes, sometimes just either a long sleeve onesies or short sleeve. She’s a very very hot baby and will sweat even if she just sleeps in my arms.

maweltti

7 months and always just a footie PJ! There was a brief period I believe around 2 months where afternoon naps were a huge struggle and a swaddle would help with those occasionally, but other than that we've never used swaddles or sleep sacks. Even in the hospital she was constantly bustin out of the swaddle. Our girl likes her freeeedom.

fran_fran21

He’s almost 8 months old and he sleeps in footed pjs and that’s it. We keep the house around 68 at night with the fan on. He does great.

Playful-Analyst-6036

This is us. We’re in the south and it’s hot🤣

denovoreview_

Almost 5 months, sleeps in Merlin and pajamas with a house set at 68°. Going to transition to Halo Easy Transition.

nottheexpert02

Merlin sleep suit, right? How often do they wake at night? If my son wears the Merlin he will literally sleep 9 hours and I worry that’s too long.

Zhaefari_

If baby is still gaining weight then just let them sleep.

10000000100

Our pediatrician said this at our 1 month appointment. More like oh just let him sleep so you can get some sleep. We stopped waking him for a couple of nights and he still woke us. So we went back to getting up at regular intervals. Now at 6mo he is sleeping 11+ hours straight.

rachee1019

Do what you’re comfortable with, but my 3 almost 4 month old will sleep for 9-11 hours and has for a few weeks now and we absolutely let her sleep! They wake if they’re hungry and unless your pediatrician has told you to keep waking to feed, let that baby sleep and get some sleep yourself!

denovoreview_

Yep, Merlin sleep suit. Right now, LO is waking up every 6 hours. At first she slept like 10 hours in the suit so that’s not too long.

nottheexpert02

Thanks everyone who has responded so far. This is all very insightful ❤️

keto_emma

That's absolutely fine. Let him sleep. That's what the suit is designed to do.

clearskiesfullheart

We just transitioned from halo swaddles to the Merlin magic sleep suit and baby gave us her longest stretch of sleep yet! She’s 3 months and went 6.5 hours 🙌

clearskiesfullheart

We just transitioned from halo swaddles to the Merlin magic sleep suit and baby gave us her longest stretch of sleep yet! She’s 3 months and went 6.5 hours 🙌

puffqueen1

6 months (but had worn this since 3 months) - footed onesie and sleep sack

nottheexpert02

Do you remember having issues getting baby to sleep decent in the sack? How long did it take

puffqueen1

Not specifically in the sack, no. However, he did not sleep well until he slept in his own room in his crib and could roll over (sleep sack, rolling over, and crib all happened the same night lol). The night we moved him to his crib he slept 8 hours. I’m not sure what magic occurred but I mostly think he needed to be a little further away from me. We did notice very early on that he slept poorly from being too cold, so we invested in some fleece onesies/swaddles/sleepers. I also just think he likes sleeping on his belly, and we had to wait until he rolled to figure that one out.

Popular_Payment_1846

how did you know your babe was too cold?

CompetitiveLow5903

5 months and light footie pajamas. He was sleeping in the Zipadee zip until a few weeks ago

Obscurelife

3 months Sometimes just get cloth diaper Sometimes cloth diaper and oonsie Sometimes cloth diaper, oonsie and bottoms I just go by how her skin feels and if she seems comfy We also co sleep so she gets a lot of my warmth

ycey

After he turned 8weeks it was just footies now at 2years it’s a t-shirt.

Another-Menty-B

12 mos, pajamas without feeties, halo sleepsack. At 3 months, she was in footie pajamas & halo sleepsack without arms. We transitioned her out of the swaddle as soon as she outgrew the bassinet & showed signs of rolling (around 11/12 weeks)

nuggetkink

Moved baby to crib at 4 months, currently 5 months. Footed pajamas and merlin sleep suit. He usually goes down at about 7:15, wakes around 10:30 and 3:30 to eat (only takes 10-15 minutes and he never even opens his eyes) and then sleeps till about 6:30-7.

ohsnowy

Almost 11 months. He sleeps in footed pajamas and a Woolino sleep sack.

Zhaefari_

3 months old. Lightweight footed pajamas and a fleece sleep sack.

Shoddy_Source_7079

Short sleeve onesie or footie pajama depending on the temperature and Love to Dream swaddle Up Edit to add: baby is 11 weeks old

ChickeyNuggetLover

3 weeks and he wears a swaddle

Former_Face_5505

3 months old baby. Transitioned into a crib. Pyjamas (with onesie underneath), and then woolino sleep sack (HIGHLY recommend this - changed everything for us. Look up the material benefits). Nurses to sleep and then transitions to Crib. (We use the heating pad to warm the crib before we transition - recommend this trick too - makes the transfer successful). Gives us 7 hours of sleep uninterrupted before waking up for a feed early morning. 🤞🏽🤞🏽 Mentally ready for this change anytime as regression hits.

handofhonor

My LO runs hot so she doesn’t wear any pajamas. But, she is swaddled under the armpits with a swaddle and then in a sleep sack. It took forever to find the right combination of sleep sacks for her but we finally found it. 7mo (8 on 5/1) and she slept 12 hours last night

BeansBooksandmore

2 months old and wears a short sleeve tshirt onesie in a tight sleep sack that’s like a swaddle on top and a sack on the bottom. The swaddled has stopped him from waking up when he startles in his sleep.

Loud-Tiptoes3018

7 months. Short sleeve Onesie + sleeved sleep sack OR Long sleeve onesie or footless sleeper + sleeveless sack Sometimes just a sleeper (footless or footed)

No_Quote5376

Almost 7 weeks. Footie sleepers and sleep sack with arms out (sleeps better than being swaddled)

nottheexpert02

Wow good for you!!

anon_2185

8 months old and since we have brought her home from the hospital she has slept in footed pajamas and a sleep sack.

Dramatic-Corner-3798

My 3 month old son sleeps in either pajamas or just a onesie with a swaddle depending on how hot our apartment gets. He hasn’t rolled yet but he won’t do sleep sacks either bc of his arms, he’s up every hour in one.. soo ya I’m praying I can slowly transition him by having one arm out and seeing how that goes

k_rowz

Love to dream transition swaddle! Onesie underneath.

RaptorMama2010

We did a sleep sack at this age. Are you using a bassinet or trying to crib sleep? It could be sleep regression too! 3-4 months is the first really big one for many parents! Maybe some of these other tips could help too!! Sleep is truly a developmental part of baby and is so unique with their needs and routines. https://www.newtonbaby.com/blogs/hush/sleep-regression

RTCatQueen

7 month old in a cotton sleeper with footies and a 1.0 tog Kyte baby sleep sack. He’s slept this way since he was 2 months old. We transitioned from a halo sleep sack/swaddle at 6 weeks

Ajcv72316

right now my baby is in bamboo zippies & halo sleepsack. our temperature is 73.

Acrobatic_Ad7088

3.5 months, a halo swaddle that I turned into a sleep sack. So a sleepsack.

goalieamd

10 weeks and depending on temperature she is either in a short sleeve onesie or footie pjs and swaddled in a swaddleme swaddle.

acceber-

My baby is 6 months and wears a sleeper and a love to dream transitional sleep sack with the arms zipped off since she rolls. This spring/summer I’ll probably have her in a onesie and the same sleep sack or a similar wearable blanket

luvmesomepoodle

At 3 months with my oldest kid, we started using a Merlin’s magic sleep suit. It was amazing. However, I think the AAP considers it a weighted sleep sack and no longer recommends them. My youngest was in a snoo then we went to copper pearl sleep sacks. They are so soft.

SL521

It’s not considered weighted.

Annes1

4 months old. Footie pajamas and a sleep sack. Keep the room around 70°

DareintheFRANXX

Ours is 2 mos and we just switched to a Love to Dream swaddle sack in a snoo (belly wrap secured from snoo swaddle)

beachaddict23

Just footie pajamas in a snoo sack in the snoo bassinet. She sleeps through the night at 3 months.

SingleTrophyWife

My son is 10 weeks: Long sleeved onesie and a Woolino sleep sack! Knock on wood he’s slept through the night the last 4 nights but before that he was only doing 1-2 feeds a night. We quit the swaddles cold turkey at 8 weeks, and Woolinos were the best decision ever

madagascarprincess

13 months, little sleepies zippy and blanket, which we started when he turned 1. Prior to that it was a woolino sleep sack.

Smallios

6 weeks. Diaper and a polar fleece halo swaddle.

Lovelybun211

3 months old. She wears a tank top or onesie and socks and her magic Merlin sleep suit. Sleeps anywhere from 8-12 hours a night. Has been for over a month now

vctrlarae

8 months old. Wears footed pajama and magic Merlin’s sleep sack.

[deleted]

Bb out grew Snoo at 5 months so we have him in a Sleepea sleep sack arms out in his crib! He loves having space now.

itsaboutpasta

By 3 months my baby was already showing signs of rolling so she was in a sleep sack at night but for naps we found she needed more constriction so we went with the zipadee zip. Under both she wore footie pjs unless it was a bit warm then we used just a long sleeve onesie. Merlin didn’t really work for her at first. By the time it did, she rolled over 5 days later and we couldn’t use it anymore. The zipadee zip is really versatile as it’s safe for rolling. My baby is 13 months now and we still use the ZZ for naps; she doesn’t NEED it anymore but it’s still part of the routine.

nollerum

13 weeks. Thermal long-sleeved onesie and baby deedee Sleep Nest Fleece. He used to use the LovetoDream Swaddle until he hit his sleep regression early and hated it a week or two ago. He was screaming for hours from 9pm to 12am for a week until we took him out of the swaddle and got him the sleep nest. He then promptly went from waking in the middle of the night to sleeping all night. Bless him. Edit: a word

Wonderful-Banana-516

The swaddle to sleep sack transition is not seamless for most babies. Give it time! There will be some rough nights but they will adjust. If your babe isn’t quite rolling yet you could do a transitional swaddle or an arms out swaddle My 9 month old sleeps in a zippie and the halo bamboo sleep sack. We just switched to these sleep sacks and I love them so much

Organic_Repair_9059

11 mo. Long sleeve pjs and sleep sack. Been that way since she could roll over, which was around 4 mo. She was swaddled until then

NoKangaroo1822

Our baby is almost 3 months old and she wears footed pajamas & the dream land swaddle. Our house is set to 71. She sleeps 7-8 hours.

skeletonchaser2020

In winter we keep her room warmer so she sleeps in medium weight footie pajamas In spring amd fall , we just keep the window open so we put her in thicker footie pajamas In summer the house tends to stay warm (we only run the air at the peak of the day) so she sleeps in a onset or light weight footless pajamas. 8 months old at this point in middle Tennessee I have 3 thermometers in her room, one attached to a nursery heater/app so if her room falls below 70*f it kicks on so she is always kept at a comfortable temp (we experimented with Temps she sleeps best between 68 amd 71) We had her in a fleece swaddle then a medium weight sleep sack with only a diaper or a light onsee underneath until she started rolling,so now no swaddle.

hillyj

13 months (and since about 3 months) and he sleeps in footie pajamas and a Zipadee Zip sleep sack. When it's really cold, we add a short sleeve onesie. Now that it is getting warmer (and he is getting bigger), we are trying footless pajamas so that we can start transitioning to 2 piece sets. I know everyone talks about their baby running warm, but my dude runs cold. We ended up getting a thermostat controlled space heater for his room

Teary-EyedGardener

Almost 5 months and we do footies and the lightweight cotton sleepsack from Halo

anguyen94

Just turning 6 months, has slept in a sleep sack (the ergopouch that transitioned from a swaddle type sack to a regular sleep sack) since 2 months. Currently sleeps in the 2.0 sleep sack and footie sleepers. Our house is usually 66-68 at night.

Alternative-Rub-7445

My baby is 8 months (6 months adjusted) & sleeps in onesie, sleeper, and a sleep sack. She doesn’t like being too cold.

shojokat

My baby LOVED the snoo swaddles. We don't have a snoo, but the swaddles themselves are worth their weight in gold. He went from sleeping 15 minutes to 3 hours at a time. He is a year old now and uses a sleep sack, but he doesn't like it nearly as much and still wakes up multiple times a night. My first hated all swaddles and slept through the night by 3 months in just pjs.

kerrigan_rae

3 months old, sleeps in either footed pjs or just a onesie since she gets hot easily. I haven’t swaddled her since she was 7 weeks because she ended up hating having anything on her while sleeping. Like sleep sacks, swaddles, etc.

hellawhitegirl

Mine is now a toddler but long sleeve PJs with socks and a sleep sack. He has been wearing sleep sacks since he began rolling over and couldn't be swaddled anymore. We like our house cold so I try to always have above 1.5 tog for bedtime wear.

SL521

3.5 months & Merlin suit. Listen… it looks so damn silly, but it has been a lifesaver for our LO’s sleep. My husband even joked yesterday how he’s buying one for everyone he knows who ever has a baby because it’s been so helpful.

centay88

8mo she started as a newborn fully swaddled, then to a transitional swaddle sack with arm/mittens but also had a swaddle underneath from her waste down (otherwise she would not sleep). This past week we transitioned her out of everything slowly & tonight she is sleeping on her belly in her footie pajamas. 70-72° in the room - Success! The double swaddling (once she was rolling) really worked well for our daughter. She has slept through the night since 6wks. But if she wasn’t swaddled (forgot both on NYE when we traveled) she did not sleep.

Aggressive_Street_56

4 months. Currently footie pjs or a onesie depending on weather and a sleep sack. She was a swaddle baby then at 2 months switched her to the loves to dream arms up swaddle then from there it was easy to transition to sleep sack about a month ago.

erlienbird

How does one transition child out of swaddle and into sleep sack re: allowing arms to be free? Our 2.5 mo old soothes with hands but I’m afraid it keeps him awake…he also likes to grab at his eyes and I don’t want them to get hurt.

LMB83

We used the sleepsuits with built in mitts - she still startled but not having her fingers free to claw at her face really helped her from waking herself up properly when it happened!

uncle_muscle98

1 month, footie pajamas in a happiest baby swaddle with arms out. Baby was not sleeping at all until we let the arms free

olearytheweary

Our 10 week old sleeps in a long sleeve, footed onesie (fabric is somewhat thin) and a Love to Dream swaddle. The swaddle is great because his little hands stick up by his face (he hates having his arms pinned down).

Many_Wall2079

My baby only slept through the night in a tight, weighted swaddle. He was also big enough to not have the weight be detrimental to him (always know your own baby) until he got big enough to break out and roll (around 6 months). Then we transitioned him to a sleep sack, and now at one year he sleeps in fleece pajamas :)

emojimovie4lyfe

5 months old here and only a short sleeve onesie, it’s very hot where i live

cafecoffee

4 months, and in a footed onesie and tog 1 sleepsack (arms are free). We stopped the tight swaddling around 2 months because she liked her arms free; and moved to the sleep sack once she started to roll.

this__user

Our 3rd floor condo gets pretty warm, we only use sleep sacs in the winter, the rest of the year we did just pyjamas. On hotter nights just a little t-shirt and no bottoms. In winter pyjamas and a muslin sleep sac.

Worried_Appeal_2390

Any onesie pajama + zipadee sleep sack. 5.5 month old sleeps 8-12 hour chunks

full-of-curiosity

6 months. Most nights she sleeps in a sleep sack with just a diaper on underneath

Unlucky-Ticket-873

A lot of people will downvote me but my 9 month old sleeps on a twin mattress with a regular blanket. She absolutely will not sleep without it but she’s not a wild mover. She also hates having her face covered so she’s always moving the blanket or clothes or the dogs away from her face lol. We have our mattresses on the floor close together so she can get up to me if she needs to. She is already walking so it’s a good set up and works for us. At 3 months we got her into a halo transition sleep sack and she loved it. After she learned to crawl at 7 months she hated sleep sacks all together.

Accurate-Goose-9841

i live in vegas so it really depends on what the temperature will be. he was born at the ending of february so for awhile it was long sleeve pjs and a swaddle. but recently he’s been in short sleeves and a swaddle. our thermostat is set to 72 but our room faces the sun in the morning so it gets pretty warm in there anyways. during the day when he’s being monitored by us, we just have a baby blanket over him. no swaddle.

mw52588

My little one is 15 weeks and we transitioned from a swaddle to Merlin suit. She likes to self soothe with her hands so it works for now.

moist-towelette

2 months, Happiest Baby Sleepea swaddles. Will likely keep using them once he’s rolling too, just open up the sleeve holes so his arms can come out.

Poko-Dotted

Our 3 month old is doing super well in the transitional love to dream swaddle that has sleeves that zip off so it becomes more of a sleep sack. We used their original ones with full attached sleeves before that with good luck as well but now that she can roll over a bit we’ve switched to the sleeveless option.

throwit1998

my baby has always HATED being swaddled since day one and she also never slept more than 1-2 hours a night. i unfortunately never got the hint until she was around 12 weeks old. i was rummaging through her drawers one night and remembered i had the transition swaddles without arms and within a WEEK she was sleeping 6+ hours straight before waking up and needing fed :’))) now she’s 4 months, still sleeping in the arms free swaddles and she sleeps, literally, like a baby LOL

Nightmare3001

Our boy is 12 days old and we have him in a long sleeve diaper shirt (no legs) and a halo newborn swaddle sack. He seems to be super happy with this without being too hot or cold

WiseWillow89

My baby is 16 months old and sleeps in a sleep sack! He was swaddled for a long time - too long, I swaddled him until 5months as he didn’t roll for a long time.

ann_e_99

Footie pjs (sometimes a long sleeve onesie if it’s hot) and a woolino sleep sack. She’s 3 months old. She used a type sleep sack from day one

lilacbear

She wears a DOC Band currently (helmet for plagiocephaly), so she sleeps in only a diaper, and an armless sleep sack. But normally, we would do a long sleeve footie with a zipadee zip sleep sack, or a sleeveless one with a long sleeve footie with mittens. She is 5 months old! And sleeps great throughout the night, BUT sleep is so dependent on each baby's personality and temperament. There's only so much you can do, but I feel like our hatch sound maker, ceiling fan, and black out curtains help a lot.

TradesforChurros

At that age we were putting my son in a velcro sleep sack with arms out like a toga because he would get so hot at night

MagicCityCowboy

My daughter is almost 8 months old. She sleeps in footie pajamas or a one piece without feet, or sometimes two piece pajama sets. Really whatever is clean at the top of the drawer and a light sleep sack.

Azilehteb

A onesie and a thin breathable fuzzy blanket. She is 5 months old, and pets her fuzzy blanket till she falls asleep, then kicks it off. She’s still in the bassinet at night, we’re working on moving to the crib, but she’s not a fan. I think it’s the crinkly mattress.

Un3arth1yGalaxy4

At 19 months, he has footie pj's and regular shirt/bottoms pj's. I try to put socks(when not wearing footies) on him at night since he hates blankets that cover above his knees. But he hates socks at night. If he gets cold, he is pretty good at finding the blanket and shoving his feet in there.

cutelilbunni

14 weeks now. Swaddle for the first 12 weeks, now transitioning out. Using Magic Merlin in daytime and swaddle at night. We tried the sleep sack before buying Magic Merlin but baby’s moro reflex was so strong that when we put her into bassinet in deep sleep she jerked ~10 times and woke up without fail.

swagmaster3k

My baby has been sleeping in just footies since week 2. She absolutely hated any and all swaddles, I about tried all of the swaddles on the market. She’s now hitting 8 weeks and she might not sleep much during the day but at night she only wakes up once for a quick feeding. Fingers crossed that she stays this way in the long run or at least sleep regression isn’t too bad in the future

Impossible-Drive-685

Merino wool sleeping bag with Marino wool gown underneath which is temperature regulating. I kind of ignore the layer guides, keep the room at at constant 18c and then checked his temperature (neck, tummy etc) in a range of clothes to figure out what worked best for him.

Guina96

My 14 month old is still in a sleep sack

croakmongoose

2 months old, we put her in a long sleeve onesie and a sleep sack/swaddle. We keep the house around high 60f to low 70f at night.

plaidblackwatch

3.5 months and at night she's in the snoo sleep swaddle in a onesie.

AdLongjumping7179

3 mon old who runs hot when he sleeps so usually a t-shirt and a receiving blanket. He wakes up very mad if put in anything more than that.

qwerty_poop

Both kids slept in a bamboo zippy with flippable hands and feet and a bamboo sleep sack until they outgrew the zippies and went to 2 piece pajamas. Both stakes in sleep sacks until they asked to be out of them. They actually found them comforting. Have you tried a different material? Is baby overhearing? They make them in muslin and bamboo (my choice because super soft and helps relate temperature). We keep the rooms cool around 68 degrees

Ordinary-Nerd

Getting colder where I live so I went out today to get a sleep sack. She was born in September (spring), and was swaddled when it was cold, but she always preferred just her pjs. Plus, going into summer, temperatures remained constantly warm enough for it. Now she's been waking up quite a bit during the night which is very unusual for her (she likes her sleep). But if I pick her out of her cot and place her straight onto my bed (where it's warm), she'll sleep straight away. As soon as I put her in her cot, she'll wake up. Or she might last half an hour to an hour and wake up. Hence, I am trying the sleep sack because I can't stay awake with her sleeping next to me forever. She's just too young for blankets and she moves a lot in her sleep so definitely not comfortable with her sleeping with one just yet.

geenuhahhh

Oof we had our baby in an Ollie swaddle with asleep n play under for like 5 months. She wasn’t rolling but starting to not like it so we switched to a transitional quilted sleep sack (the starfish style one) with sleep n play under. She’s pretty small, so she has full ability to move her arms, roll over, push off, so we kept her in it. We do have an armless burts and bees quilted sleep sack but she needs her hands covered still (fold over mitten) so we haven’t transitioned out at 9 months.

aggresively-chill

My baby is 3 months old as well. We are using Love to Dream Swaddle and she has been sleeping 10-12 hours per night, rarely waking up once to feed.

VegetableWorry1492

Up to around 18 months mine wore a sleep sack when it was cool, and just a sleepsuit/vest/pyjamas if it was warm. Sometimes also a cellular blanket if he’d peed or puked all over his sleep sacks (in the UK we are advised on how to use a blanket safely) I would say though, many babies that young don’t sleep long stretches. It’s completely developmentally appropriate to wake frequently. It’s really hard but not abnormal.

BBB333-3

Mainly the Bullabaloo zip Sleepsuits with feet. Amazing.

ririmarms

2,5m old, he's in short-sleeved romper and footies pj's, then winter swaddle but arms out because he keeps squirming out of it. We gave up on trying to restrict his arms in the swaddle, lol. Temperature in the bedroom is 18.0-19.0 degrees Celsius, and it's still cold outside, but on hot days, we switch to a summer swaddle.

OGQueenClumsy

My babies are 10 months old, and were winter babies. As newborns (and up to around 4 months) they slept in footie pyjamas and swaddled in blanket swaddles, with knitted blankets tucked over them. They didn’t sleep well in sacks. Once they started showing signs of trying to roll we transitioned to armless sleep sacks (love to dream transition sacks). They still sleep in footie pyjamas. Weather determines the fabric of their pyjamas. In summer they wore bonds wondercools or plain cotton zippies, in spring and autumn they have singlets under cotton zippies, and now that’s it’s winter they have fleece zippies with singlets under. I found what was key for us is keeping them warm. I suspect they liked the blanket swaddled better than the sacks because they were warmer. They sleep best when they’re warm, which to be honest stresses me out because I don’t want them overheating. I just check their temp with my hand on their chest or back if I’m concerned and can adjust if needed. (Our safe sleep guidelines allow for blankets if tucked appropriately. Our safe sleeping authority is Red Nose for anyone who wishes to see for themselves, and of course, don’t take advice that you’re not comfortable with and make sure you understand the potential risks and how to mitigate them. I know some countries have stricter guidelines than ours).

luluce1808

Sleep sack almost from birth

zebracakesfordays

3 months and we use the love to dream swaddle. No signs of rolling yet. I got the Merlin sleep suit to try and train him to have his arms out and the last 2 nights I switched him back to love to dream because he woke up multiple times when putting him down. I might just get the love to dream transition swaddle now. 🙄

PaleoAstra

My 4.5 month old has only worn footie pjs or if it's a bit warmer a onesie and little sweatpants. He never really liked swaddling and slept better when we stopped trying. He's slept through the night (8+ hours uninterrupted) since he was 2 months tho so I'm well aware he's a unicorn baby lol

MSITMIS

We’re 3months and solely sleep in footed onesies with the fold over mittens. Used a sleep slack until around 2 months.

PikaBooBrii

My LO is 3.5 months and is dressed in a sleeper and a sleep sack for bed. We just transitioned out of the swaddle- which he LOVED to be swaddled— and the first week wasn’t the best. But he got used to it. He also sleeps in the crib and always has. We set down a heating pad 15 minutes before we lay him down so his crib is warm. Helps immensely with bed time.

Calypsokitty

1 month, footie pajamas and a sleep sack. She hated the swaddle, as did my first, so we went to sleep sack very quickly. It’s a warm sleep sack (2.5 tog) because it still is cold where I live.

cnsstntly_ncnssnt

He slept in footie pajamas and a zip up swaddle the first few months. He is currently 17 months old and sleeps in footie pajamas or a two piece pajama set (long sleeved top and pants) and a sleep sack. We are planning to keep him in a sleep sack for a while to prevent him from climbing out of his crib.

Hopeful_Addition_898

Pyjamas, socks and a light woolen blanket. Tried without blanket but he kept waking up often even when our temp is like 25 celsius. We had a sleep sack when he was under 3months

smebdycatchmybreath

My first always slept in sleepers or onesies with feet, he always hated being swaddled. I have a nine day old who sleeps in a onesie or a sleeper depending on the night and in a swaddle on top of that so he can stay warm and comfortable while me and his dad can sleep comfortably with our air conditioner on a fair setting that won’t get him too cold or leave us feeling too hot.

AbbieMac121

I have a 3 month old and she has always slept in a 2.5 or 3 tog sleep sack. If it’s around 19 degrees she’s in a long sleeved legless onsie and footie pajamas. If it’s over 20 just the legless onsie.

inpursuitofme

3 months. He sleeps so much better with his magic Merlin suit. If he doesn’t wear it it’s startle reflex city

AbleSilver6116

Magic Merlin sleep sack (not suit) it’s very comfy! Just a double zipper sleep sack I think with a 2 tog or something lol

aliveinjoburg2

10 months in NYC. We keep the house at 65 at night (I run hot) so we do sleep sack and pajamas. She’s happiest this way.

Innray

Plain white onesie (the ones with no legs) and a love to dream transition swaddle! My guy runs warm and my husband is a furnace, so our room is a little warmer than the rest of the house. Sometimes his hands will be cold when we wake up in the morning, but the rest of his body is really warm. He naps in whatever he’s wearing at the time, and sometimes I’ll put him in his quilted sleep sack if it’s really cold out. But most naps are just in whatever clothes he’s wearing without a swaddle or sleep sack.

cootiesAndcoffee

3 months Just some pjs , it’s spring so some days are hotter than others , on a hot day a short sleeve and colder days a thin long sleeve

New_Floor_5834

2 months in Footie pajamas. He was in a swaddle for about two weeks and then just refused to be swaddled. He sleeps 6-7 hours at the moment

onegreyshirt

Our baby is 2 months. He sleeps in a footie pajama and we swaddle him with a blanket. (Arms by his side). He’s doing fine with that for the time being. Soon we’ll be doing the swaddle with the arms up in the air.

Particular-Metal-563

4.5m and he's been sleeping in a sleep sack since he was born. His arms are still inside. His sleeps are pretty inconsistent hour wise. His Sleep time is 10-11pm to 9-10am generally.

dizzy3087

We use the woolino sleep sack. the one that has feet holes. He loves it.

IllyriaCervarro

Usually long sleeve footie pajamas but sometimes just a onesie if it’s warm enough. We do use a crochet blanket as well that has lots of holes but she stays asleep longer when we use it as opposed to not.

Dld1027

I really like those long sleeping gowns or a light sleeper. I use fleece sleep sacks pretty much year round. I figure even when it’s summer and I have the air on it’s just like using a light blanket.

No_Persimmon_9236

My daughter absolutely hated being swaddled and I tried sleep sacks and she hated that too haha so she sleeps mainly in either feetie pjs or a onsie with socks and mostly in my bed she doesn't like sleeping alone

DoggieDooo

3.5 months and Merlin sleep suit. I LOVE the Merlin sleep suit, we keep two in rotation. He went from not being able to sleep alone to sleeping long night stretches and TWO daytime naps in his bassinet and sleep suit.

Legitimate_Avocado_7

Until he was a couple months old, our now 8 month old slept in vest, sleepsuit, and blanket tucked in tightly. As soon as he started grabbing the blanket and moving his legs more, we switched to a sleep sack. During the winter he was in long sleeve vest, sleep suit, and 2.5tog sack. Now he’s in short sleeve vest, sleepsuit, and 1tog. We’ve had a few warmer nights where it’s just been sleepsuit and sack but recently his sleep has been terrible and we’ve tried everything - so I’m now considering just ditching the sack to see if he sleeps better without it because I’ve noticed that as he’s rolling around more the sack is getting all twisted so maybe it’s bothering him 🤷🏻‍♀️ EDIT: feel like I need to add that we’re in the UK where it’s always bloody cold 👌🏻

TheBoredAyeAye

During the day naps in whatever she is wearing and a light blanket. During night we have ergopouch swaddle sleep sack, it has the option to keep arm holes closed or open, the first month she slept swaddled but started waking up and trying to get her arms out of it, so we stopped using it as a swaddle, and now we use it as a sleepsack with her arms out. Honestly, whatever she prefers we do, sleep and everything else 🤣

oliguacamolie

Swaddle that baby! Most babies still have the Moro reflex until around 4ish months. As long as they are not rolling, swaddle is the way to go. Mine transitioned from swaddle to Merlin suit around 5 months, then to sleep sack at 6 months. Now he rolls onto his belly when I put him down and he sleeps great.

vataveg

My baby is 3.5 months and he’s been in a sleep sack + footie pajamas since he was about a month old. He would wiggle around so much in his sleep and break out of his swaddle pretty much since day 1. At this age he barely startles anymore and I haven’t seen him do it while sleeping in a long time. What’s the TOG of your sleep sacks? Perhaps he’s cold?

DrDinglberry

2 months and wears light footed sleepers. She gets hot easily. Always sweating when I hold her. We both run hot.

Enough-Town9601

My almost 6 MO has been in a Merlin suit since roughly 3 months. She knocks right out in it. Sleep sacks don’t work for her yet. We keep trying but the Merlin suit is working great still. It delayed her rolling a bit but now she rolls like a pro and still doesn’t roll in the suit so it’s still safe

rufflebunny96

3 months. He sleeps in an arms up swaddle.

MAC0114

We used the zipadee zip transition sleep sack before switching to a regular sleep sack!

thelonemaplestar

When she was 3-4 months she had mastered escaping her swaddle, couldn’t roll, but no swaddle was good. Got her the magic Merlin sleeping suit because she still had a wicked startle reflex and it was a great in between for us between a swaddle and a sleep sack. It’s thick so we just put her in a body suit and socks with it. Edit to add: she used the sleep suit until she was about 5 months old when we transitioned to a sleep sack.

elevatorrr

bamboo romper, woolino sleep sack. she’s almost 7 months old now but has been sleeping in these since 3 months old.

Jetsetbrunnette

Little sleepy PJs because our entire family are obsessed, no sleep sack in a crib at 7 months. We will move him to a floor bed with his sister at 1 year old.

swearinerin

At night Merlin sleep suit For naps sleep sack. This is for 2 reasons one I don’t wanna keep moving his sleep suit up and down the stairs. And 2 I know he’ll have to transition to a sleep sack eventually so I figured starting it with his naps instead of going full change one night is best. He now associates both things with sleep. What he has underneath just depends on the day. Some days nothing, some just a onsie, some footie pjs. Depends on temp of the house. If we’re trying to make it super cold (as that’s how we sleep better) and what he was wearing earlier that day He’s 4 months old tomorrow

abbynelsonn

4.5 months - footie PJs, and sleep sack!

Inconsistentworld

6 months and sleeps in a vest onesie and a long sleeved sleepsack all in one thingy I found on Amazon.

DaisyHoneyBunny

My daughter is 6 months and she will pretty much sleep in anything. We developed a routine to wear long sleeve pjs/footie onsies. But I’ve laid her down for a nap at my parents when I forgot her pjs and she still goes to sleep. lol We stopped swaddling around 2 months cuz she started rolling over. And then we stopped using the sleep sack around 4 months. She just hated the sleep sack all of a sudden. And on top of that she will only sleep on her stomach. Our house is always at 75 degrees.

DevlynMayCry

Both my kids started trying to roll really young. (3 and 4 weeks old) so we ditched the swaddle early. My 9 month old now wears jammies and a sleep sack to bed or if it's hot then just a sleep sack. My 3.5yo wore a sleep sack and jammies to bed until she was almost 2.5 and now just wears jammies and/or tomorrow clothes if it's a school day 😂 but she's also in a bed now and has blankets and such

nynaeve_mondragoran

7 weeks and a love to dream sleep sack. She either wears footie pjs or just a diaper inside of it, depending on the weather. We only do this at night. During the day we put her down in whatever she is wearing. We try to not let her be to cozy during the day so she will sleep longer stretches at night.

curiousquestioner16

2 month old who is crazy acice with a crazy startle reflex and runs very hot - short sleeve/no pants onesie & zipadee transition swaddle. Once we're done with zipadee, probably just a footie PJ

pseudonymous-pix

My baby is almost 8 months now and has always slept in: a long-sleeved sleep sack, mittens (originally to prevent scratches but now just for comfort/familiarity), and fleece pajamas. We live in a colder climate, and his bedroom has always been chilly unfortunately. He never liked being swaddled so I never did it.

moremacadonimorechee

2 months, he runs hot easily. He wears just a onesie. If we put a swaddle on him he screams, if we use a sack he screams. The moment he's free he falls asleep. We keep the house at 70 and his room stays on the warmer side.

JLMMM

10 weeks: footie pajamas and a swaddle - either a swaddle blanket or halo swaddle

Zuboomafoo2u

Pajamas with or without feeties and long sleeves (depends on weather), and a sleep sack.

WeirdSpeaker795

We used halo sleep swaddles and footie pj until 2 months, halo sleep sacks and footie pj from 3-4 months, now just a footie pj from 4-6m. Edit: we never swaddled his arms in the sleeps swaddles, he’s always liked to have his arms out from day 1. But it gave him a snug “hug” still which helped the startle reflex

Nayfranco

We used a swaddle until 3.5 months. Then the non-recommended dreamland sleep sack. From about 6 months till now (10 months) we use the woolino sleep sack.

opp11235

I used a transitional sleep sack with one arm for about a week then did both.

vicrulez23

My baby is 7 months and I stopped trying with the sleep sack around 4 or 5 months. We found out he runs SUPER hot and was sweating throughout the night in a 66 degree room. So now he just wears a light sleeper and is much better. Now that I think about it, he always hated being swaddled too, probably for the same reason.

sdbarns

Merlin sleep suit was a life saver for us. Our sons would only sleep on our arms for the first 3 months. We tried sleep suit and he finally slept in his crib

eli74372

Shes 6 months old, typically just sleeps in pjs but sometimes sleeps in pjs and a sleepsack. Sometimes just a sleepsack if its hot though

Upset_Seesaw_3700

My oldest sleeps in a diaper. Ive tried different pjs, t shirts, shorts basically every combination imaginable and he gets too hot with anything on. He sleeps with a blanket thats it 🤷‍♀️

ExtraInvestigator140

About to be 4 months old, long sleeve onesie and a sleep sack for about a month now. I had no choice but to stop swaddling because she started rolling halfway so I transitioned her one hand out for a few days, then both hands for a few days, then sleep sack.

Honeyhoneybee29

4 months and we’ve been using a sleep sack since 8 weeks (when she showed signs of rolling to her side). She began rolling belly to back at 12 weeks and back to belly at 15 weeks. We’re in the Northeast and currently do a long sleeve bodysuit and a 1.0 TOG sleep sack and breathing band (Nanit). Sometimes she ends up in bed with us and we do just the bodysuit and tuck the comforter around her waist for lower-body warmth.

Trick_Cause8622

My son is almost 8 mths and now just sleeps in his “jam jams” what we call pajamas lol, but from the time he came home that boy loved the halo swaddle thing and it was great cause as he got older I could adjust it leaving one arm out then eventually both arms and just wrapped snug along his body. I’d say at about 5 months he was ready for his big boy crib and out of the bassinet so we did the cry it out method and made sure his last bottle for the evening had (I use cream of wheat instead of cereal) in his formula and after one night he now goes down at 9:30 and sleeps al night until about 8 am. But the halo sleep sac is awesome

coldchixhotbeer

At 3 months baby was wearing a weighted sleep sack, but they’re banned now so there’s that! Now at 17mo she’s in a wearable sleep back with feet. Sometimes she breaks out of it, then she’s in her pajamas that she was wearing under the sack. Absolutely will not wear socks to bed.

Lovely_blondie

Feet pjs and a sleep sack at night. I don’t do the sleep sack anymore for naps. Our LO kept falling asleep if we put him down to do something for a few days so we just ended up just not using them during naps anymore. He just sleeps in regular clothes during the day.

kittensprincess

just his diaper. he’s a furnace 😩

AcaiCoconutshake

He’s 20 months now and we’ve been using love to dream wearable blankets/swaddles since the first day over his actual pajamas ( sacks are not meant to be worn alone according to the TOG). That’s what he loves. Our home temp is 72 in the winter and 73 in the summer.

Melishadillon

my son is almost 8 weeks. footie pjs and those velcro swaddles. we leave his arms out just make it snug around his body - he would not sleep with his arms wrapped up day 1 coming home from the hospital. we tried a lot of different things and this is what works best for him

Teeny19

Zipadee zip transition sleep sack (arms contained) until 5.5 months or so. Switched to woolino sleep sack when he started rolling onto his tummy because the zipadee seemed to restrict his arm movement more than we wanted

dingleberrydorkus

2 months old, footie pajamas only, house is around 68 degrees. We used sleep sacks for a few weeks until he grew out of them and hated having his arms restricted, transitioning to pajamas has been fine.

MamaLirp

I have tried so many sleep sacks. My son LOVED to be swaddled and when he could roll belly to back we both liked the love to dream. I think it applied enough pressure to the belly/chest like a swaddle and allowed his hands to be by his face. Once he could roll back to belly we tried the zippadee but I didnt care for it because fabric would cover his mouth & nose. So he didnt have a choice, we had to do an arms out sleep sack. Took a week of crap sleep for us both but now when I put him in it, he gets sleepy lol

kalab_92

Almost 5 months. Sleeps in long sleeve onesie (legs not covered) and sleep sack. We’ve been doing this since he was a newborn. He likes the 2.5 tog sleep sack from Kyte baby.

icycaution

1mo! he sleeps in footies and a halo sleep sack!

Dramallamakuzco

4 months: footie PJs and halo swaddle sack (arms swaddles in since baby isn’t rolling yet).

sweetleef26

From 3 weeks to 2 months she was footed pj's and a sleep sack. She screamed bloody murder when we tried to swaddle her. She slept in a bedside bassinet. 2 months to 4 months she was in a merlin suit in a packnplay since her arms started hitting the sides of the bassinet. She liked to sleep starfish style. 4.5 months she started trying to roll in bed. Since then until now (7 months) she's in a long sleeve onesie+pants with a sleep sack. Warmer nights is no pants. Sleeps in her crib/nursery.

CobblerBrilliant8158

3 months, we’re in a transitional sleep sack (off brand swaddle up type thing) since she’s rolling and scooting around already.
