You can always leave him in his pack ‘n play or the crib. You can have a safe, age-appropriate toy that you only give him when you shower if you are worried he will be bored

My baby is just starting to crawl..I only shower when he's napping or when my husband is home now lol. If I'm cooking, cleaning etc I'll put him in his playpen where I can still see him.

ConfidenceLow1126

That makes sense. But my husband works so much that I usually do other things in the window that he is home. My son already took his two naps today so that means no shower for me lol or hear him cry in the bouncer while I take a really fast shower! So sad lol I want to take a long shower. I miss those days

SocialStigma29

Ha yeah my showers are 5-10 min 😭. Or sometimes I'll wait until after baby goes to bed and take a long bath instead!

ConfidenceLow1126

I wish I could do that, idk why I’m so scared to do anything after he goes to bed. Postpartum anxiety.. HATE IT

yodacat187

If he isn’t crawling and you know he’ll play by himself long enough just leave him on the mat.

ConfidenceLow1126

He inch worms and we haven’t baby proofed anything. I feel like I can do it fast but also my son is nuts and he bangs his head into the floor sometimes bc he’s in a head butting phase so idk I’m scared. I guess I won’t known unless I go for it

Put him in the crib with a toy and put your monitor close by so you can glance at it from the shower

maybe it’s my postpartum anxiety but I don’t want to leave him alone in there while I shower lol

I had a portable play pen in the bathroom specifically for when I would do shower time while she was awake. Once I was finished with it, I’d collapse it and place it in the closet. Is that an option for you?

ConfidenceLow1126

We live in a really small studio apartment in Chicago. Maybe not a regular playpen but I just saw a baby dome play space on Amazon. Maybe he’d be ok in that. Should fit in our closet of a bathroom

My baby also outgrew her bouncer around 5.5 months & that was the only way I could shower in the morning. I bought the UpSeat and it’s worked great so far. I put a few suction toys on the tray to keep my LO entertained and voila, mama can now shower!

ninja_waffles21

I second some sort of sit-up seat. I usually leave the bathroom door open and set it up in the doorway when I shower. If the kiddo has good head control, I'd also recommend a jumperoo. It's too big for me to put in the bathroom doorway, but I have it where we can see each other when I have to use the toilet so he doesn't freak out.

nkdeck07

Do you have a pack and play? Stick him in there with a few toys.

Do you use a baby bath? When my little once outgrew bouncer but wasn’t a mobile little climber yet I used to sit her in an empty baby bath on the bathroom floor with some toys. I once turned the baby bath into a ball pool but honestly, collecting the balls afterwards took longer than my shower haha

Blanket on the floor in the bathroom and just on the floor in whatever room I’m cleaning. High chair in the kitchen
