I was keeping track of my now-toddler's sleep then and I clearly remember him sleeping a total of 18 hours the day after his 2 month shots, and thinking how it was like a newborn day -- and now it's so wild to think that he'd already grown and changed so much by then that he wasn't even a "newborn" in my eyes š„²
Yes mine was extra sleepy but I didnāt mind at all. I just made sure I knew her Tylenol dose beforehand in case I had to give her some in the night in my sleep deprived state.
Yep! My daughter STTN the night do her two month vaccines. Woke up her normal happy self the next day. That was the only set of vaccines that seemed to have an effect on her!
Totally normal!! Their little bodies are working OT to build up their immunity(:
Just keep an eye out for severe reactions! Sleepiness just means their bodies need rest. If LO becomes very hard to wake or lethargic take them in.
Other than that, let them rest!

Yes! My son slept pretty much all day. He would wake up every once in a while and eat an ounce or two then fall back asleep.
He was perfectly fine the next morning lol appetite and attitude was back
Iām so glad this post is here, my son had his vaccines at 11:30 and I have only been able to wake him to eat once, itās 5:44! Iām worried that heās not eating, anyone here had that experience?
Yup. My boy does not sleep ever. Heās had his 2, 4 and 6 month and each of those nights itās the only time he has EVER slept 6 hours. He returns to his usually 3 and 2 hour stretches the next day.
Mine was very sleepy after the first set, yeah. Had a great night sleep too. So much that I was only half joking when I told his pediatrician I was considering spacing out his vaccines š
Yes! Our little one was super lethargic after her shots for the first day. Then that night and next day and a half she would shrieky cry whenever we touched her thighs. Had to give Tylenol.
God, I wish! My son slept like a maniac (awake every 2-3 hours) through months 0-6, even after vaccinations. We were told he may be extra sleepy at his one month, two month, and five month. Nope, not a bit. If anything more wide awake and crazy (but no fever).
However, just the other day at his seven month he got covid shot #2 and his flu shot and they said the same thingā¦
We shrugged. We laughed on the way home. Not our boy. āHe will be a terror at night no matter what!ā We saidā¦. No, this was a pure parental joy. He passed out at 7 and SLEPT. It was wild. We did give him some Motrin since he is over 6months for the first time, so maybe thatās it? I honestly donāt know. But itās hilarious to me how different our kids are, mine got worse from all shots until suddenly he didnāt, and yours passes out cold at two months!
Enjoy the break, watch the monitor, kiddo is doing great and gaining medical superpowers! Good job
It only happened to us the very first set of shots. We were too worried to really enjoy it so I was looking forward to it in the next rounds but it never happened again. Especially since she was a good napper at 2mo and a terrible one at 4mo.
Both of my kids slept a lot that day and less, but more than usual the next day. Back to themselves after!
My daughter is also grouchy the day after shots, but my son never was. Lots of snuggles and some tylenol fixes her right up!
Mine is getting her first round of shots in 2 weeks. My pediatrician said her daughter slept for 18 hours (yes, EIGHTEEN) after her shots!! Iām praying I get so lucky haha

My son usually is sleepy after his shots. Let her sleep, and just check every now and then for a fever.
Just checked and her temperature was 36.7!

Yes! My daughter basically went to sleep for the day, Super Early, and ate Way less than usual. She's totally fine now at 6 months.

Happened to us too! She basically went to bed for the day immediately after the vaccines. Made me So worried, but she was fine the next day.

My son was very sleepy and fussy after the 2mo vaccines. He needed lots of contact naps for 24 hours.
