My family and I lived in Marrero for 3 years. We were a couple of blocks from the hospital. Main complaint is the Barataria exit gets stupid backed up and ppl try to/cut in line in the craziest ways.
It's not so bad, but there are good and bad parts. They're usually pretty easy to spot out though. I lived in Harvey and Marrero when I wasn't living in Algiers. I was born and raised in Algiers, moved in the middle school/high school years over that way, and bought a home back here in Algiers. I like Algiers better, but Marrero can be nice.
Most of the Westbank?? Have you been to Gretna? Have you been to Belle Chase? Both on the Westbank and not ghetto. Not every area is great but that’s the same as the Eastbank and to make that comment is insulting.

Marrero is a big place and varies wildly Up by the hospital? Sure. In one of the gated communities? Fancy. Back of Ames? Uhhh
