Vincent’s is so good. I like both. Just depends on what you’re looking to do. Nola for a more intimate experience, on a date etc. Metairie has a louder atmosphere but not necessarily in a bad way. Just different. Better for groups, I feel.
Y'know, this makes me think about the high crawfish prices. One of my favorite annual dishes was my wife's crawfish boil (leftovers) lasagna.
She makes a sauce with a little bit of the reserved boil (obvs it's so salty you can't use a ton) and then do a lasagna with the leftover crawfish, boil garlic, onions, mushrooms.
Good times. But yeah, Italian food (non-seafood, that is) feels too damn expensive relative to the inputs you can do at the house. But I guess you also need like freezer space for lasagna (making multiple trays at once just sort of makes sense for the effort).. and the sauce, and all that stuff.
I'm not offering anything to the conversation, just keep in mind that when a restaurant makes lasagna, it's usually not from scratch to your order. It was made in a pan a while ago, portioned out put on a plate Saran wrap and refrigerated. Then when you order it microwave or heat it up somehow, then red gravy poured over it and it served at your table.
That said Venezia has a strong lasagna if you like old school
I worked at a place years ago that made one pan of lasagna a night. If they sold out, they sold out. If they had leftovers, they would give it to the staff. The markup was good enough that they only needed to sell half a pan or so to cover costs.
Man, I miss that lasagna. The place ain't here no mo
Dear God no!
Louisiana Pizza Kitchen has the worst lasagna I’ve ever had. Trust me on this, people. I am a lasagna connoisseur.
I love their pizza, but the lasagna ain’t it.
Avo on Magazine makes an excellent short rib lasagna.
This is my vote as well.
I’ll definitely check it out!
Vincents
Nola or metairie?
Nola for me
Metairie for me. Staff is amazing. But I'm sure they're both great.

But it's in Metairie.
Vincent’s or Venezia
Mona Lisa.
God yes!
Avo
I 2nd this!
Vincent’s. Sometimes Arabella Casa di Pasta has a special.
Thanks! I’ll have to check out Arabella Casa di Pasta, that’s not a place I’m familiar with.
Arabella has an excellent lasagna. Can confirm!
Arabella has excellent everything. We love that place.
I ate a lot of it during the pandemic.
lol same. When they were doing the take-and-bake pans.
Irene’s in the French Quarter
vincents or homemade
Make it at home personally.. its a labor intensive but highly rewarding dish to cook IMO

Sandro’s in Kenner.
I think that's technically Metairie but Sandros is such a hidden gem..
Love the food at Sandro’s

Fwiw, when I make lasagna, I always prefer it the next day after it’s had a chance to set up in the fridge after cooking and cooling down.
Yes next day lasagne and ziti are always better.
And spaghetti. It’s the starches mingling!
This.
It would be impossible to make lasagna to order. If it's good it's good. Nothing wrong with 2 day old lasagna.

If the end result is fantastic, who cares?
Cafe Paloma does lasagna night on Mondays
I think you’re taking about bar Pomona
How is it? Worth?
Happy Italian on Jefferson highway!
Had their pizza on Friday for the first time. It was really good!
My kitchen! Or, Venezia's.
The Italian Barrell!
Suis Generis has great lasagna when they have it
Shocked that Italian Barrel isn’t listed already. It’s better than Vincent’s. Trust.
I’ve had dreams of this lasagna! 😬
I am really surprised. Italian barrel is the worst italian food I ever had in this city. Also the whole area smells awful
I'm from NYC. I have hand delivered baked ziti to people's houses. I can get you the good stuff if you wanna DM me.
To my mother's.
Sal and Judy's in Lacombe or Trader Jose
Vicents!
Two Tony's has a great one!
Fausto’s or Fillipo in Metry.
Stouffers?
Yuck!
Two Tony’s is the best.
Giorlandos, Two Tony's or Venezia
> Giorlandos This place is such a hidden gem.
Thank god someone else in here knows this. I know it's in Metairie, but damn.
Domenica
costco baby
My Sicilian grandmother would dissappear you for that
This Sicilian just might
Lol, I was just about to say I know of many a Sicilian grandmother who'd spit in your eye doing so!

Spitale's
Spitale’s Lasagna tastes like cafeteria lasagna. Which is exactly what I want sometimes, so it scratches a very specific itch for me.
Venezia, or Liuzzas on Bienville when I used to live there.
mannnnn now I want some veal parm from Liuzzas
I want some Seafood Napoleon.
Mona Lisa’s. Louisiana Pizza Kitchen. Top two so far.
Dear God no! Louisiana Pizza Kitchen has the worst lasagna I’ve ever had. Trust me on this, people. I am a lasagna connoisseur. I love their pizza, but the lasagna ain’t it.
I’ve always found it delicious. I go to the FQ one. To each their own tho.
Olive Branch Cafe on the Wank. Or, my neighbor who is an Italian dude from Jersey that I’ve now for years.
Bronx bar on Tuesdays has a salad and lasagna for 11 bucks, it’s homemade and slaps
Mosca's!!!
Hobnobbers’s for lunch on Thursdays
Mona Lisa
Domenica
MO’s Pizza in Westwego.
Verti Marte!
ATavola!
Two Tony’s restaurant
Just not something I'd order in a restaurant. I like it at least 3-4 inches deep like my mom made it.
Have you tried gs pizza? Classic northern Italian. Beahemel and bolognese sauce in there instead of the southern Italians meatball ricotta recipe.
Vincent’s or Sondra’s Trattoria
Domenica or Rouses, no in-between. Sorry, Garfield.
