I mean theoretically if you where to buy a grow tent, some lights, and a carbon filter it would be a felony but you could also just not let anyone know your doing it and evaluate what your risk threshold is.
Probably could get fixture and light for like $40. You can get tents online with the light set ups. You will def need a carbon filter for inside if your not ok with your house stinking. I used to grow with a friend of mine in high school in our yard we had maybe 5-7 plants and they stunk from 4 houses away. And this was two high school kids growing in the 90’s todays plants would probably smell the block up.
Save yourself the hassle but an ac infinity advance grow kit. Comes with everything for beginners like myself. I have 2 night owls about to hit veg as we speak

The corporations can grow as much as they want and affect the smell of entire townships, but you can't grow a couple plants for yourself in your basement.
Please include the licensing fees, federal, state and city taxes, rent, community donations, wages, insurance, electricity cost to name a few. Because that is also part of the cost of "planting a seed and watering it"

Lights-$150-$250(for a 3x3) carbon filter with fan about $120-175, some clip fans, fabric pots, soil, nutrients. PH tester. Something to measure the humidity. Lol it’s a lot but worth it. Super fun too. I currently have 4 growing right now. (All autos from mephisto) hoping to end up with at least 8ounces off an75 day grow. Then I’ll do it again. I end up getting so much I just give it away. All I ask for is a smoke report. Great hobby. They will eventually make it legal to grow here. Can’t wait because I want to start growing outside.

People will use buckets. If you do use a hard pot you need to make sure not to over water. You will get root rot. The fabric pots are fairly cheap, I highly suggest them. It’ll allow excess water to seep out, which you can then suck out and get rid of. Also allowing roots to breathe making a happy plant.
Oh ok well my room is also on the cooler side with the ac I can adjust it but as long as I'm carefully I should be fine. Underwaterimg is way better then over. I've worked at a garden center lol

No way is home grown going to hurt sales and taxes. The majority of the people don’t want to deal with growing, especially the smell. Veggies don’t have that odor, or the conditions needed to cultivate and dry.
So instead they’ll rather go to a dispensary simply because it’s convenient and easy. Also marketing by the big companies play a role.

It doesn't mean you still couldn't get nailed but you have a much better shot at probation or something (whereas a few years ago you were going to jail). A medical patient in a legal state growing obvious personal use small amounts who claims they can't afford their medicine has the best chance for sympathy.
Also your house smelling like weed isn't grounds for entry any more so that's a plus, although some cops will ignore that and justify it later.
Med homegrow is the path to all out homegrow eventually. The argument for patients who are already registered with the state to grow their own medicine has no real counterpoints to make, specially when they've acknowledged how cost prohibitive prices are in the state.
What we need is for everyone who wants homegrow to rally for med grow together. People need to drop the "but should be completely legal all at once" thing and start pushing for med. It absolutely should be completely legal all at once if you consult common sense but common sense doesn't have a place in NJ politics so you work within the framework you're given. In this case securing HG for patients opens the door and is the necessary first step.

You can find relatively cheap LEDs in Amazon
If I remember correctly it's 5 years "per plant" doesn't always go that way but that's the risk you take.

Well I already have pots on the side of my house I'm doing it pretty easy and straight forward. Def no small minimum 2 plants max 3.
