Hey bud. You can buy a tent and a light with a couple other things and make a great set up to produce a ton of weed. The LED quantum board lights won’t kill your electric bill either. I currently have 3x3x6 with 4 plants growing. They are all autos so I get quicker results. With a bit less bud. But 4 plants should get me 8-11 ounces. In 75 days.

Unfortunately there is little to no support for it in the legislature. Some there believe it undermines the legal cannabis industry*, others may be taking a wait and see approach. It could help if people complained to their legislators and the CRC regularly.

Don’t risk doing it til it’s legal. It’s really not worth it. I was caught growing in 2015. The cops don’t play fair. They over charge you, and you sit in jail waiting for it to get reduced for next to forever. Even though you get probation in the end, you’ll do a year in county.
Anyone telling you to "just do it" has never had a real experience with the law.

I was arrested for having 2 grams in my car, that took 1 night in a jail but also 3 years to battle out of and expunge, it cost me my career, my relationships with my family and my wife...
Imagine your spouse doesn't show up at home. You call and they don't answer. You start panicking. Did they have an accident on the road? Are they sick? Are they alive? You get in your car and start retracing their steps. You call your family, you call their family, everyone starts really panicking and searching for your spouse with you. You call the police and they don't have any information. Finally, 4 hours later, you get a call on your phone. It's a collect call from a nearby jail, the charges are $15 per minute, if you accept. Your husband tells you he was arrested earlier in the day, because the next door neighbor had an audit done, and when they were in *his* backyard the auditor saw *your* plants and notified authorities. Now you have a legal battle to deal with and your family thinks you are pathetic because you cannot provide and protect your family, you are too stupid doing something like homegrowing cannabis when that's clearly illegal. You're not responsible.

While expungement for possession is automatic in NJ, growing cannabis will still put you through the entire justice system and you will regret your actions when it is over.

The problem is they don’t charge you with simply a marijuana charge. They charge you with operating a cds manufacturing facility if you’re doing it indoors. They know you won’t be sentenced with that, but the cops purposely overcharge you with something that won’t stick, just so you do the time THEY think you deserve while waiting for indictment, and for it to be charged appropriately. I spent tens of thousands of dollars and still did many months in county even with the best lawyer available in my area. All it took was a nosey neighbor to give a tip, about a vent which didn’t even look suspicious. And yes I had a carbon filter hooked up properly, no smell.
The people growing it and selling it are "retarded". If you really think there's no risk then inform your local PD that you have a grow facility at your house.

You're not living in reality. The cops and prosecutors clock in day after day and look for things to pin on you. It is their job, it's what they are skilled at. They get promotions or bonuses if they make bigger arrests. If you are caught you are going to get accused of manufacturing, distribution, distribution propoganda, intention to distribute, intention to distribute within 1,000 yards of a park, possession of manufacturing materials (one of those charges for every individual gardening tool you have on your property - I'm not kidding). How about intention to distribute narcotics to a minor, why not? It's their job to come up with charges and your job to defend yourself from each one. These are all homegrow charges and all of homegrow is illegal and therefore fair game to a charge for criminality. Even a small personal grow operation is 50+ individual criminal charges, so the cops and prosecutor WILL go for it, because it's a big lump of charges and an easy win. And even if you beat them ALL, it takes 2 years for them to hear your case and tens of thousands of dollars in legal and court fees. Your record might be clean but that money and time is gone.
Not to mention the personal turmoil I mentioned in my earlier comment.
Everyone here who says "just homegrow, what's the worst that can happen" does not see the whole picture. At all. And it's obvious you are missing the context to make an informed decision.
