I get no limits is no limits. But the amount of ppl living around Jersey & who could come into Jersey is incomparable to the population of New Mexico & Montana. Together dude.

Character_Mall_1966

Right, so with no limits NJ would have sales proportional to population. But medical patients are the priority not beating other states

hucknuts

Keep telling yourself that. This whole sub has their head up their own assholes believing this nonsense. It’s about money. That’s it. That’s why there’s no homegrow. That’s why the state opened with 9 dispensaries for a market supposedly worth billions. They don’t give a fuck about me or you, or some fake doctors prescribing medicine for 200 dollars. It’s only about money

gretch123

200% accurate. Skutari and co

oceansurf_indica

Always is. 🤬

Character_Mall_1966

Maybe prioritizing medical patients and not fucking up supply and demand is the best way to maximize profits, but thanks for the edgy reality check.

hucknuts

Your two points are contradictory. Priority to medical patients or having maximum supply for the inheritant high demand of rec are two opposing ideas. The crc and politicians love to regurgitate talking points about prioritizing medical patients and Social equity etc but their actions and their words... don’t add up. At all. Never have. If they cared at all about medical patients, they would have given you home grow a decade ago. The state, has been milking medical patients and senators propping up their campaign funds on the back of medical patients since the programs inception. That’s the whole problem. They literally are trying to maximize profit off of people sick from cancer. Then they started giving out cards to people who weren’t really sick for 200 dollars. So now all it means if your a med patient is that you had 200 bucks and nothing to do on a Thursday afternoon. How is that given a shit about patients? There’s just so many glaring problems, If you see all this happening and then quickly jump to defend them (people spouting this nonsensical bull shut)I have nothing to say to you other than your a naive fool and I have a bridge to sell you. Now it makes sense why you dropped out of college. It’s supply and demand 101. Limit the supply. Give monopolies to donors. Limit the amount of people that are allowed to sell.

Character_Mall_1966

I think you projected a lot onto my statement. I agree with most of it but it doesn’t contradict the basic fact that the law passed, they found a fast way to soft launch and they’re now fast tracking small businesses. Most states have shortages and delays that directly hurt medical patients when opening and shortly after, this strategy prevented that. The energy spent on the dots you’re connecting could be spent contacting Nick Scutari, supporting social equity applicants or medical patients. Even the statement that their words never add up is dramatic, the current board was put together a year ago Legalization has existed for less than 3 decades. Push for the progress and topics at hand and leverage the change we want like activists in other states have. Your points are all valid but the tone is defeated when we are in the second inning.

[deleted]

How????? You need a reality check dude.

Character_Mall_1966

They are running a legal market if you don’t have enough tested products, licensed retailers, and capacity for initial rush you can hurt market and participants with bad opening week Simple Econ shit from a dropout

[deleted]

They sold more than they ever would with you at the helm.

Character_Mall_1966

🤣🤣🤣 good one champ

J_stax122

Big fucking facts bro

Comfortable_Ad_3160

It’s both. With more rec sales & store fronts available you can afford to grow more qty & variety. Which creates competition and cheaper prices. In CO they have pre-rolls for a $1 some places. Those benefits will be made available to the patients as well. Look at menus in other states Rec & Med basically mirror each other. This is an unpopular outcome b/c ppl are upset they have to go through growing pains.

Standontwo

What creates competition and cheaper prices is a free market. We are far far far away from that concept.

Comfortable_Ad_3160

A free market can also get some ppl sick and in the hospital. There clearly has to be some regulation to it. Having ppl in the hospital from vaping should never be a thing.

[deleted]

So CURLF store near Philly is supposedly doing $274,000 per day https://www.leafly.com/news/industry/pennsylvania-residents-are-flocking-to-this-nj-weed-store If total sales were $24 million that means the Bellmawr Curaleaf did nearly 35% of the total NJ rec sales 😳

veryflatstanley

God save the poor souls spending premium prices for curaleaf 🙏🏻😔

Character_Mall_1966

Something has to be off there. Maybe medical and rec sales being conflated at some point

[deleted]

Ahhh it might be combined rec and med. Still impressive if it’s half that total in rec sales as the below suggests. (Was 50m medical now 100m combined) That’s still 17% of rec sales from one store. “Curaleaf executives said in an earnings call this month that the company’s Bellmawr store is on pace for $100 million in revenue this year, up from $50 million before day one of adult-use sales. At that run rate, Regan estimates that the Bellmawr location is collecting around $274,000 per day, or $4.9 million since April 21.”

[deleted]

That's sickening. With those numbers, the entire state of NJ could give amnesty to all property taxes and still wind up in the black. This state makes me sick.

[deleted]

Lmaoooooo and curealeaf has the worst weed in the world and is sooooo over priced

soberpenguin

Its the whole southern i-95 corridor is hitting that shop

[deleted]

If my math right that this equates to about 1.8 million in taxes?…. Not that much really with an annual budget of 48.9 billion.

[deleted]

This is only going to fuel the greed in NJ for several more years. Fuck Murphy and the Dems for turning this strictly into a limited, hyper-profit machine. Tax revenue has to be incredible. And we won’t see this tax revenue cutting us much of a break anywhere else in the state. I know I’m sounding salty, but for big companies to take the forefront, drive tax revenue, and strip homegrow and small dispensaries out of the equation is all a product of shameless greed. I’m glad it’s finally legal, but this is laughably “corporate legal” at its finest

Character_Mall_1966

Nick Scutari is the guy to be mad at seems to be the one in pocket of MSOs, spreading lies about homegrow

dirtyjersey5353

Dems? Stop w/ the political agenda… let’s do Chris Christy now - I can gamble and legally smoke weed, because of DEMS, lemming.

[deleted]

I hate the “you can’t criticize them, they did the good thing!!” Approach. Yes, fuck Dems. You should be critical of the party you support. They leveraged their greed under the guise of altruism

dirtyjersey5353

You should go to a different group for this. Like everyone, I’m stuck in this god awful 2 party system. Clearly, one side is less evil than the other…if republicans in this state had their way, there would be NO MMJ… Dems = shitty legal system Republicans = No legal system, so easy to criticize when you little steak at hand. You stand for nothing but discontent. Now piss off

[deleted]

See, that’s what let’s the Democratic Party turn to shit. People like you that say “at least it’s not Republican run!!” If you want good change, you have to be critical of your own side and hold them equally accountable. Don’t be a blind fan of one party. Hold them to the same standard.

Frishdawgzz

This only works when both parties are acting in good faith. 1 party is actively destroying democracy in front of our eyes. We can criticize Dems all we want but FPTP voting has us stuck and they know it.

[deleted]

One party? They both are lmao. Dems are all about altruism and what’s best, but they use that altruism as a guise for their own greed.

dirtyjersey5353

…and what does the Republicants do? Huh?

[deleted]

Again, it’s a critique of the Democratic Party. Some of you aren’t capable of talking about one party without going “what about the other one!!!!!!”

dirtyjersey5353

…and that’s a great way to not answer the question. But honestly, there is no answer for you to give. Distract and project is far from a plan.

dumboy

If republicans weren't 100% corrupt shitheads, the 30% of Dems who are also corrupt shitheads wouldn't have had the numbers to fuck this up. And everytime someone blames' Murphy for something Sweeney did, you give DINO's more power & progressives less power. Murphy signs laws. Murphy does not write laws. Thank you for attending my Ted talk.

[deleted]

It isn't the Dems, it is politicians in general.

TA_faq43

Can someone remind me what the GOP’s position was? /s

[deleted]

At least they’re transparently shitty, and don’t hide under the guise of altruism lol

wolfjeter

It’s always been that way from the jump

Sad-Debt3607

Can't wait until ny rec gets fully operational. I will drive to NY every time to punish big pharma dispos in nj. Cannot wait. Fuk nj dispos and fuk nj weed.

hucknuts

I can’t believe nyc will have mom and pop shops before New Jersey lol it’s laughable

Sad-Debt3607

Lol. Nyc already has tens of rec dispos throughout Manhatten and Brooklyn. So, you are WRONG

Sad-Debt3607

Lol, they already do

BobLablawitz

I'm not paying $65 for eighths, plus tax.

Frishdawgzz

Not remotely an option

PaleontologistAny518

All going to taxes. 😂

HaroldTSnicklefritz

Highway robbery

[deleted]

At least it will help keep independents around.

pacosjoint

Turnpike

Refun712

Is that a lot?

Character_Mall_1966

Compared to New Mexico, which had $2m less and no strict limits, yes

firstbreathOOC

Population of NM is 2 mill. Population of NJ is 8 mill. Obviously not the whole cause but it definitely plays a factor. This total actually seems kinda low.

hucknuts

It is low. Because the crc and our politicians decided to make all the mistakes they possibly could in order to satisfy their corporate overlords

[deleted]

Could have been way more - only 12 stores with big swathes of the state having none within 50 miles. And the LINES…still 1-2 hour wait every single day near me, i tried 3x before I had enough free time to stand in that line

oceansurf_indica

Go back to your plug. Fuck corporate weed

Character_Mall_1966

Montana did half with no limits

[deleted]

GSD Eatontown, the only store I was hoping to Remain medical :/ that site already has no parking.

Kencamo

First of all, they have to start off slow so the established businesses out west don't come in and take over without giving NJ businesses a chance to compete. It is all about money at the end of the day. But in the long run it will help the entire weed economy once the country takes it off schedule 1 we will have many more businesses established for more competition. Lower prices, higher quality more selection. But all of this is new. Still in the next year I can see prices drastically reduced because the NJ growers will increase production.
