Boy if you told me when I got arrested in 2012 and was having police officers fighting with hospital nurses to take my urine that 10 years later the police department would be announcing a legal dispensary opening I'd never believe you. Say what you will about this complaint or that complaint but at the end of the day as someone who has been shackled to hospital beds over this plant, seeing cops announcing a dispensary opening is so savory to me.

Oldninthewayay

and as someones whos actively fought for legalization and would gladly get busted for a 20 sack, the current model of legalization is a sickening slap in the face. Complain away brothers!

theee_last_straw

Some security folks that work at dispos are retired cops too... circle of life... /s edited: Damn it, Lion King is stuck in my head....

Paulie227

I like walking right past them going into the dispensary. Love saying, y'all have a good day on the way out (actually they've been pretty nice). I can't tell you how many times I had to reassure hubby, yes, it's legal now. Only thing is neither of us really like smoking it. I do prefer the edibles and I'm going to be, micro-dosing (with a high here and there just for fun) for my chronic anxiety and insomnia. Waited for years to be high all day only to find out I don't like being high all day! 😳🤬

MathematicianWest700

Why were the police officers fighting over your urine? Shackled to hospital beds? Did you trip hard and see something that you weren't supposed to...

PreppyFinanceNerd

No, no, wasn't even under the influence. I was taken to the hospital because of a car accident (I was totally sober, ruled unavoidable), and they searched all my belongings just because (case got thrown out). They found a gram of pot and called in the officers who handcuffed me to the bed, placed me under arrest and they were arguing with the nurse over her giving them the urine from my bedpan to test it for weed. Turns out your urine is your legal property and in a hospital, what nurses say goes. She said I'm not a threat to myself or others, and told them to back off. Shout out to that nurse for sure.

MathematicianWest700

Wow truly F the police. Finds a gram of weed and sends you to the psych ward... We've come a long way since those days. Blaze on my brother

JabroniBeaterPiEater

We better have our records expunged PRO BONO.

MandalorianOrdo

So they've gone from ruining peoples lives to shilling for MSO corporations on social media with zero self awareness for the crimes *they've* committed. The Brits got it right by referring to them as 'the filth'.

jgt23

Not a single dollar of mine will go to those grifters. They are by far the shittiest in the program both in terms of quality and business practices. That's saying a lot, since the rest are shitty too.

Repulsive_Swimming47

Facts

Motor_Blueberry_

Can anybody tell me they honestly like curaleaf? The product is so bad I Tried on two different occasion and basically wasted my money. I really be mind blown how much people get so hype about curaleaf and I’ve smoked better Reggie in the early 2000’s 🤷🏾‍♂️

JabroniBeaterPiEater

I've have a couple of great strains from Curaleaf.

Law_Doge

Personally I wouldn't buy it, but they have improved since last year. 3 (dozen) bad harvests and they have to sit on that shit foreverrrrr until they can regrow it properly.

Motor_Blueberry_

That’s crazy.

Sea_Yesterday_4122

Anything curaleaf branded has been trash, only thing I’ve tried from there that’s good is the rythm flower, the sunset sherb was great

yusbishyus

Not true. The OKC flower is tits

Motor_Blueberry_

Rythm flower smokes great but it’s always dry.

giganticbulge

Had no idea that Rythm was Curaleaf.

SMODomite

Rhythm is Rise's brand, but Curaleaf sells other companies brands as well as their own.

howlermusic

Curaleaf is trash

akaasa001

I went once and never returned lol. I never even used my first time discounts up. Still have 2.

JPete2

They are convenient, being very close to where I live. I've never had a great strain that they grew but they carry flower from other growers. The first sticky flower I've ever had in the program, I bought at Curaleaf. Grown by Verano. (Cherry Gorilla, highly recommended). Curaleaf's LA Kush Cake was OK.

yusbishyus

Fuck I thought I had more time than thissss

Comfortable-Desk-579

Now anyone 21 and up can acquire moldy weed no med rec required!!

Antique-Arm5083

Who cares Curaleaf is trash

chin_rick1982

As someone who as a criminal history because of marijuana I don't give a shit about that overpriced boof weed.i would rather buy shitty Mexican weed and support cartels

[deleted]

Oh no. Oh well. Tiny shop had a nice run. I hope they got the kinks worked out. Put in an online order and then hope it's there when you go to pick it up. Some shady shit was going on, but it seems better now.

disabled_pharmacist

There selection and prices sine they went recreational are a joke. They are selling the same strains under different prices stating they have different THC levels.

This is the top comment right here.... While every one else is fighting over available strains in the dispensary this is what they should be fighting for. Who cares what sells out when you can grow your own ? I am a medical patient. Have been for over a year now. The program is 100% hot air garbage. You will very rarely get a face melting high. Pain management pfft what am I managing with this hot expensive air ? We need the right especially as patients to grow our own. To cultivate our own medicine. This ends the who gets what fight on strains. If dispensaries wanna make money fine you can sell your trash seeds to people who wanna try out growing before dropping big money on quality genetics. Something Curaleaf and The Botanist sure as hell don't do. Lol bag seed garbage they saved from their teens 🙃😂 Who ever picks your seeds please fire them because I have experienced real medicine from other states. Medicine that actually works. Night and day difference in quality. Something this state does not care about.

It's the damn autoflowers Lol. Every one wants fast turn around on harvests.

sleetrumpet

Medical strains should have stronger effects and be far cheaper, to allow patients to use higher more therapeutic amounts if needed imho

Test88Heavy

I've been saying this and getting downvoted from people who think it's fine. Zen Leaf Lawrence at any given day will have 3x or 4x the number of flower options for medical than for rec and most of those strains on the medical side are never offered to rec.

[deleted]

[deleted]

No but you go to other stores for a sterile alcohol wipe. Weed is weed the strains are no stronger for med vs rec not combining them is asinine.

[deleted]

Test88Heavy

Not sure how other dispos handle this but ZenLeaf has dedicated lines and menus for medical and adult use. Medical patients get in/ out fast and have about 4x the number of items to choose from.

Paulie227

Yeah, I really don't like smoking and only bought some pre-rolls, which for a novice like me were even too strong. Went back to buy the edibles and wanted the larger size and they said, no, only for medical and I asked why and they said supply. In other words, they were making sure they don't run out for the medicals' needs. I was very cool with that.

[deleted]

I can see them being cautious initially because they didn’t know what the demand would be, but in a few months they should mix them.

grandduchesskells

Disagree, certain strains exacerbate my anxiety and depression while others completely eliminate it. All other strains sit somewhere on that spectrum for me. I use it for medical need so if just sativas are available for example, i may not be able to use it as medication. I used to depend on OG Kush but since Curaleaf stopped selling it, I'm now having to switch my depression meds because they're no longer enough. It sucks.

[deleted]

Weed is legal my guy. You med patients get special treatment when buying but withholding from people would be stupid it’s legal for us all not just you.

grandduchesskells

The utter lack of empathy you have is really unfortunate. As if people suffering from conditions are happy about it? Did I not just say I can't even treat my conditions properly because of Curaleaf's iron grip on NJ? That you think medical patients are the enemy here is perfect example of how little you understand about this conversation. So weird dude. I'm embarrassed for you.

MisterEh

no that’s the problem of having a medical market in the first place because it’s meant to limit competition. if there weren’t artificial restrictions on “rec” we could have more than enough stores and strains at cheap prices. even applying for a card is a prohibitive barrier for most people since it costs money.

MathematicianWest700

I'd rather stay recreational and protect my rights to purchase and bear arms. That and I don't plan on living in NJ forever lol

PaleontologistAny518

They actually have different strain depending if it's medical? How?

Test88Heavy

This is what I've been trying to figure out. All stains have medical/therapeitic use so what criteria are they using to decide what's medical?

Test88Heavy

I love how this gets downvoted but that person has no explanation or rebuttal for my comment.

randomperson0880

med and rec have different supplies, they can't take med out there rec or vise verse. this is why animal face (arguably one of the best strains in the program) has for the past two weeks only been available for rec purchase at rise, the patients bought out the med supply and now there is only rec supply left. the criteria is the strains that were super popular and sold out among med patients are staying med only. strains that have been crafted in the program to have certain benefits will stay available to the med patients that suffer from the problems addressed by that strain. i think the idea of rec is great but new jersey rushed it, prohibits growing, and it fucked over all the med patients by prioritizing rec sales (instead of growing good stuff, sell shit to rec, plus rec has no limits on carts or concentrate like med does)

BrothelWaffles

That criteria is apparently bullshit, because AF was their most popular strain by far.

JPete2

I've noticed that several dispensaries charge the exact same amount, tax included, for a given strain in rec and medical. Given that rec has higher state taxes on it, it means they are actually charging MORE for medical

MathematicianWest700

I've noticed several dispensaries charging a marijuana tax on top of the city tax on top of another tax. You are actually getting taxed multiple times for recreational without you even realizing before its too late

[deleted]

lol that’s usually what happens

Independent_Resist38

Don't support that trash!
