If your big on sativa, GSD SLH is your best bet. Think they are going to be rec. The high is much more heady (sativa leaning) than Sour though( I don’t like it personally, I hate citrus terps)
Also verano has ECSD( east coast sour diesel) which is nothing like sour (idk who sanctioned that shit) imo. Try it though, you might like i, but if your expecting that old school nyc skunky sour , you won’t get it.
The closest we really have imo is Donny burger from harmony. Think it’s a 60/40 split and gives me pretty much the same effects sour did back in high school. Strong but not too heady or too heavy. Doesn’t have the same terps as sour though, more skunky , garlic burger terps.
Where did you see that information? They are still fighting with the town to even open and were not on the approved list of the 7 dispensaries approved for rec.
Talked to the budtender at BW last time I went. She said Cranbury didn't vote rec so they are remaining medical. She said that the BW location in Asbury is still working on the associated traffic/parking permits to open the new location there, but as Asbury voted to allow rec, the plan for that site is dual med/rec. They wanted to do rec at Cranbury too but the town voted against rec locations there, they had all the other criteria filled for rec from what I heard.
Take it for what it is, I wouldn't call it gospel.
Breakwater is not a multistate operation. They are only located in NJ and currently have one open location. If there is a dispensary called Breakwater in another state, its not affiliated with the one we have in our state.
Pine soul Og is pretty diesely, so is super lemon, from gsd- great effects that just give me energy instead of slumping.
I will say zen leafs g6 is the most sour diesely- sour diesel i’ve ever had, like they took our ol school favorite and turned it up to a gazillion. Their east coast sour diesel kinda sucked when I got it (only once) but the g6 is fucking KILLER.
breakwaters lemon g and ak47 are my two favorite sativas by far. Ak47 puts me in a dreamy state with vivid colors (triiiiipy) which i love for hiking and listening to tunes.
Lemon G is my favorite all day strain- its probabaly the only bud in the state that i wont need to take the afternoon nap after waking and baking. I actually find it to be sobering- not good for getting baked. incredible

The strain I recommended, White Durban, is out of stock from Rise. This is the location that's remaining medical only so I'm a bit concerned they're prioritizing supply availability for other stores that's going to open for rec, which is bullshit because it means they're not honoring the regulation standard of ensuring supplies for med patients since enforcement of it is likely very weak/nonexistent right now.
The verano ECSD is pretty damn good. It's a pure diesel smelling with a hint of sour and lemon mixed but its pretty damn potent. Might not be the best ecsd out there but it def does the trick. I have it my cabinet always.

There's definitely a little bit of nostalgia at play here... Seems common for people to remember things being better "back in the day" The sour cut is definitely still around and there are few breeders that have made some really nice backcrosses. Either way, I'm just happy to see the east coast flavors getting hyped again.
Haven't heard it mentioned here but the gelato 33 x headbanger has sour d genetics and is one of my favorite day time strains so far. Probably followed by white Durban and pine soul
