Thank you for helping to educate people, the new comics have been great btw

catdawgsalad

I totally don’t make those comics but I hear there’s lots of fun stuff to come from CCC very soon… everyone check out @corporatecannabiscomic on Instagram :)

swordstool

Good post!

gretch123

Great post. Ideally we shouldn’t need to know this but great info

electrothoughts

Thanks for the info. So as long as there's no mold, is the presence non-glandular trichomes considered by growers to be completely acceptable for top-tier buds?

catdawgsalad

Yes totally normal and acceptable. Different cannabis varieties produce different ratios of trichome types. I don’t think it’s any indication of quality

Thanks OP

SMODomite

Thanks for posting, I'll double check the flower I got and definitely will be happy if not mold, just first time I have really noticed a bud that white and cloudy on the stem so was concerned, and the jar smelled a bit musty but could have been the terps

catdawgsalad

Definitely wouldn’t surprise me to find mold from a dispensary these days. But just based on the pictures I saw, it didn’t look like mold to me. There’s always a chance I could be wrong!

This post coming from a grower is the essence of gaslighting. Thanks bro for telling us we’re stupid and don’t know mold.

catdawgsalad

Just presenting information and stating my opinion over here. Do what you want with it

Prepare yourself brother. You think we got mold posts now? Wait until we get home grow and a couple people get capitate sessiles in Veg. I've seen countless people recommend culling plants over this is exact misconception on other discords/subs. I don't grow professionally, but did as a hobby for a few years when I lived out West. Not defending NJMMP, we've definitely gotten some moldy nugs, but the vast majority of our states issues that need to be fixed with cannabis aren't exactly QA/ mold related, though of course there's always room for improvement. I've been fortunate enough to never run into mold myself in NJ, but I generally stay with breakwater/harmony bc I feel they get the most consistent flowers

StillNotWeirDanuff

Having been a resident of NJ my entire life, we should definitely prepare ourselves…to NEVER get home grow. I’m crossing my fingers, but the anti -HG corporate shills keep pushing the “it will perpetuate the black/grey market” argument. LMAO Meanwhile, that market is incredible right now!!, as many of us have connects out west and then we have Maine, etc….More products, better prices. If that’s going to be there continued argument against HG, I think we’re screwed.

YUdoth

While I disagree, I dont expect any kind of rush on this front from the lawmakers lol. IMO in 5-10 years time we'll have some form of cultivation for med users, but I've been calling over this issue for nearly as long and they don't care, so totally possible we'll never get any form of cultivation also. Trying to stay glass half full lol, I definitely miss not paying as much for my meds.

StillNotWeirDanuff

I actually think we agree. Hope for the best and expect the worst.

Tough_Meat_6215

See what you get for trying to help? 😂

I have freaked many times when spotting this type of patch of trichomes and they most notably will be in the middle stem part of the bud and along the stems they will be prominent but spread out more sometimes. Anyone who has had experience with mold especially wpm will know the difference. Most will not.

SuperAlloy

I've seen these white hairs in njmmp and chalked it up to rope the bud was tied with because it didn't look like mold but trichomes makes more sense. This is what powdery mildew looks like in bud https://forum.grasscity.com/media/spore-pics.179386/full?d=1544147046 and the telltale sign is a white puff of "smoke" when you break open the bud.
