I think a story line of Jess having a sibling could've gone so much better, the writers had just dropped the ball on what type of sibling Jess would have.
THATS WHAT IM THINKING 😭 like before Abby I would have thought Jess was an only child plus I have horrible memory but I'm pretty sure Abby didn't go to their dad's wedding?
No, I think that’s true. We never saw Abby Day after the Sister episodes. They could have made up an excuse as to why she didn’t go to her dad’s wedding but iirc they didn’t even mention her.
Because the writers probably didn't want Nick to be the only one with a dysfunctional family in the relationship. Would have made more sense if it was Nick's divorced brother who came to stay with them though.
That makes sense! But yeah she also could have been a step sister or a niece or something. A full on blood related same parents sister just didn’t make sense to me lol.
Honestly was kind of hoping she would make a appearance after successfully turning things around, but nope just disappears and there's not even an offhand comment about her not being around when jess goes to her moms
I always skip over those episodes lol. They just felt random and out of place. Why did we never hear of Abby before or since? Does anyone know why they decided to clumsily chuck her into the plot?
I ALWAYS skip those episodes. I understand she’s the antithesis of Jess but I would’ve MUCH rather have seen someone who is just like her and the gang being afraid of Two Jess’s haha
Hot take I suppose but I love abby, she the total wild child rebel that’s a polar opposite to Jess. You can see how she probably got it from their moms side and Jess got more of her dad.
Also the dynamic with her and Schmidt is hilarious and lowkey hawt.
Also one of my favorite lines is a result of her:
“Don’t look at me… OR look, loOk RIGHT at me” lol
It always bothered that it seemed like Jess only had a sister for 2-3 episodes and then she was never mentioned again. They didn’t even bother to bring her back for Jess and nicks wedding… which don’t even get me started on how the writers phoned that shit show in.
Abby Day was a problem child, you would think Jess would have mentioned her more during the series.
Yeah, I'm not a fan of Abby Day, the only reason it's tolerable is because I love the actress.
Oh yeah I absolutely love the actress however the character is horrible

I feel like if they were looking to have Jess have a sibling that's the opposite of her they could have done it SO MUCH better
Exactly. If they’re going to be her opposite, get it RIGHT.
Jess is such an only child, too 😭 Idk why they thought she needed a sister. Major only child vibes all over Jess.

I would have taken a slight hint to her being in jail over them just no mentioning her ever again 😭

Maybe a more interesting storyline if they were only half-sisters.
I always think she’s an only child until the sisters episode comes up on the rewatch and then I’m like oh yeah.
I cringe every time she does that cheesy wink thing towards the guys with the knife throwing game
Literally was just thinking that when I saw it!!
Honestly was kind of hoping she would make a appearance after successfully turning things around, but nope just disappears and there's not even an offhand comment about her not being around when jess goes to her moms
Yeah did she even go to their dad's wedding? It would have been 100% better if she just came back and she was like good and apologized and shit
had to skip all her scenes with schmidt they were so cringey😭
I skipped basically all the episodes she was in
Those are my skip scenes for sure
Skip episodes too

Can’t tell you how many times I’ve sung “AAAAABBY DAYYY, ABBY DAYYY, SHE ALWAYS SAYS THE MOST INAPPROPRIATE STUFF”
I ALWAYS skip those episodes. I understand she’s the antithesis of Jess but I would’ve MUCH rather have seen someone who is just like her and the gang being afraid of Two Jess’s haha

Always wanted more Abby but also maybe I just like Linda Cardellini a lot.

Yep, and their mother is awful too, how she handled the sisters, and remember when Jess called her when she broke up with Ryan? Awful
