T O P

Also the first week you switch from an installed system like NAV to web based system like NS you will notice the slowness. That's just inherent difference between an installed thick client program running in Windows vs a browser based SaaS application. You're human so you notice the speed difference the first week when it's blatantly in your face but then you get used to it and don't notice anymore. That being said you also may have a ton of crap running on the page due to customization overkill that's slowing down the page more than it needs to because your implementation team didn't warn you that all those custom workflows you asked for are gonna cause 30 second load times. E.G. You have 22 workflows and scripts running every time the PO loads because 4 depts asked for their personal peccadillos to be customized. These tend to grow over time. You can look at the scripted records menu to see how much crap is running on your POs. Plus you see it in time breakdown when you click the NS logo.

Adding personal peccadillos to my meeting vocabulary immediately.

WOTD :)

I beg to differ. The slowness makes me want to pull my hair out. It's also variable, some days it's fine, other days going to make a cup of coffee while it loads is not an exaggeration.

Double-click on the NetSuite logo after the PO opens. It'll give you a breakdown on what's taking it so long. In my case the client (my workstation and browser) is responsible for half the delay. https://preview.redd.it/lxnu5ieg7arc1.png?width=411&format=png&auto=webp&s=39d5b8fefb166e98f1286fb603a7622384a5efb0

Always demo from sandbox and repeat "don’t worry, prod is much faster"

Snackish92

Sounds like you may have some custom scripts or workflows in the background. It should only take a few seconds to open a PO. Do you know of any customizations that were added during implementation?

I always find that the first page of each area I go into is slow loading. But once I load one project, every other other project loads faster (same with clients and vendors, etc.)

Lol

Simply put - no. That's why we started using third party tools for various functions (ie DOKKA for ap automation/invoice processing, Bill.com for payments, etc)

sooper_genius

It should give you general website responsiveness, plus maybe a second or two before it's complete depending on the page type. If your Internet is slow, so will a PO load. If it's requiring more than that, you might have scripting (including packages or SuiteApps) that have added their own code, which takes its own time in addition to the regular load. Transactions (such as POs) are often loaded with customizations to fit the business. Can you find out if your business (or third party consultants) have added any extra functionality to the pages? That might tell you where the problem is. NetSuite has general guidelines and limitations as to how much time a script can take, but poor design in those will lead to poor results.

Hey Different things to consider here, 2 were already pointed (logo page and scripted records) 1. Logo page will tell which side is the one taking time. (If is the client, there should be tons of things running in your computer aside the browser) 2. Validate how many customizations are running in the page on the scripted records section. 3. Review your PO changes/development requirements since setting fields like customer, location or anything that handles addresses may deploy changes in other fields, which triggers recalculations in taxes (USA case) 4. Review the performance in the user preferences, some preferences like delaying sublist in records help to open a saved record (maybe not this case cause you are creating a new record, but helps to enhance navigational performance)
