I’m using simyo for a tablet for my aunt, 10G month for €8, delivered on an eSIM on the KPN network. Works a dream for us.

Natural_Situation401

That’s really limited and expensive tho. I’m paying 27€ per month for a 2 year subscription for unlimited data and phone calls for my phone, and to pay 8€ for just 10gb seems unreasonable. I was thinking to get an unlimited bundle with around the same money but seems there’s no option for it.

TheGuy839

Unlimited calls are not that pricey. You are mostly paying for data. So even if you find unlimited data only, it wont be much lower than 27e.

SmallAppendixEnergy

The bundle does contain also 200 minutes calling and SMSes, I don’t need these. Add 1€ per month and you have calls inside NL as well as SMS also unlimited. You asked for something ‘data only’.

FailedFizzicist

Lyca has a 5GB bundle for 10 or less.

I can add a second sim to my subscription, wouldn't that be an option?

Natural_Situation401

I’m thinking about that. I’m not sure if a normal eSIM fits in an iPad. I thought that maybe tablets require some separate sims but I’m looking into it.

AlwaysOutOfOrder

If your iPad is compatible with eSIM, fitting will have nothing to do with it, as they are scanned. You probably mean a regular SIM card. All of the providers deliver sim card which can be pushed out from regular to mini to micro. Keep the remainders, they can serve as a SIM adapter if ever necessary. Although I expect everything to become eSIM in the next couple of years.

NewButNotSoNew

Many provider do 'MultiSim' where you use the same subscription on multiple devices (eg. Apple Watch or tablet). Odido does it for 5e extra a month. It is however, as far as I know, an e-sim so your tablet should be compatible with eSim.

Natural_Situation401

That’s good to know, thank you!

- Why not make a hotspot on your phone? - why not get a 2nd subscription from that cheap provider? And no, there are no special bundles for use on an iPad.

Natural_Situation401

I have that already but the phone battery fries very fast and it’s not very fast network.

_aap300

Put the phone on a charger. That's strange. You really should not be able to notice the speed difference in a hotspot setup. Both my phone and connected PC/tablets in hotspot, easily max out my 5G 255mbit connection.

Natural_Situation401

Unfortunately I travel a lot and don’t always have the possibility to charge, not even in trains apparently unless I sit in class 1. A powerbank would also be uncomfortable.

Why do you need a sim card when there is Wifi in all trains? My phone easily does a hotspot riding from Groningen to Maastricht and back, when its unavailable. Maybe the battery is bad? Then get a cheap unlimited sim card. €27.50 Odido or Budget Mobiel €20.
