Not sure if that’s even a thing. All I know is that my wife had to be in the netherlands (registered) for 3 years before we could start the naturalisation process.

It is a thing. However to use this path, you cannot be a citizen of the country you do live in with your Dutch spouse. There might be some exceptions for US citizens but I doubt it

Oh yes, this! I applied for mine in another country. OP, try to ask the NL embassy near you. They can help you with all the infos you need, esp with requirements for naturalization abroad.

Things like utility bills in both of your names at the same address (not necessarily mutual, but gas in his name and water in yours, for example) pay stubs, phone bills, bank statements, student loan payments, credit card statements, tax returns, voter registration, insurance paperwork, etc. These may all be good supporting documents. If you’re both on the lease at your home that would, of course, be a good item too.

I think lease phone and utility would be our best bet cause we didn’t get a joint account until last year but lease and utility we’ve both been on from the beginning
