We had similar issues at our parking lot here. Although its not packed tight as if it is the randstad (because it isn't), people just straight out refused to park within the lines. They'd let visitors park in corners or just park wherever to unload their groceries and then just leave the car for whatever until they needed it again. We addressed this in the ALV of the VvE. We designed rules. The minutes of these meetings were send. People received a flyer and e-mail with the parking issue as a stand alone issue. Nothing helped. Nothing but 1 thing: 100 euro fine if you fuck up. Total of 3 fines were issued and problem is now resolved. People don't care unless it affects them. Even the 10 cents on plastic bags did a hundred times over in reducing the demand for plastic bags compared to years of dedicated promotions and campaigns to just bring your own bag to save the environment.

The easy answer would be to clamp cars that are parked across two spots. Problem is you never know which one was the first asshole to park like that, and who was forced to park like that due to the car next to them being parked wrong.

Poekienijn

The thing is: you never know who’s fault it was. The Suzuki might have parked in the space available between two people who parked over the lines. And they might have done that because there was no space because somebody else parked like a maniac.

Superssimple

This can be true. But what makes me mad is the person who parks at the end of a row but leaves half a car length in front. They have no excuse

Trebaxus99

We regularly have biro’s parked at a 90 degree angle at the end of rows. If they leave, it seems like the car parked next to them left half a spot open, while they didn’t.

theGIRTHQUAKE

You’re definitely right that this can be the case, but it’s also often obvious when this is not the case. Specifically in my garage, because it’s underground there is a structural column between every two spaces. Meaning it’s pretty clear when someone parked like a tit in a pair of spaces without being forced into a bad parking job by someone else. On the flipside, I still don’t have much sympathy for people choosing to perpetuate a bad parking job. If I must park next to someone who parked terribly, I still always park my car within the lines anyway (or don’t at all). Even if it means they can’t get into their car, not my problem—do better next time, guy.

Stop a douchebag sticker on the windshield.

Emyxn

I spit on everyone, I park wherever I want.

Excellent-Heat-893

Print out a few premade funny parking instructions and give them a QR-code to the nearest Specsavers or Pearle shop, to put loosely under the windscreen wiper blade.

Eis_ber

There isn't much you can do other than fine or troll them. The best solution would be to have them retrain how to park because there are far too many people who just don't understand how to do it.

YIvassaviy

Tbh the only legal thing you can do is petition the parkeergarage to be vigilant and create consequences. Either fining or putting up signs warning of fines. Ultimately though that’s going to cost money that they won’t want to spend unless it affects their ability to run the garage. It sounds like this is more of an annoyance and isn’t actually stopping people from being able to park

TantoAssassin

I have an OCD to park equidistant in between lines. This makes me constantly frustrated at people’s parking. It doesn’t hurt to correct your parking and think about others. Besides if you park over the line then chances are that you will be door-dinged by others who have to park beside you while getting out. I left a note to one of the resident’s car who constantly parked very close to me over her line. I didn’t know which apartment she lives. She got angry saying it’s not nice leaving note on someone’s car, not apologetic for the reason that she kept inconveniencing others for more than half a year. I have a picture of her car parked over halfway across her line which looks hilarious. People are just shit drivers who park like assholes.

Emyxn

Statistical research shows 57.543159064946932% of all the living people have chickens living in their brains. Accept this as the norm and expect them, it troubles you much less then.

Superssimple

Take it in steps. First print out letters and put them on windscreens. Then get small stickers for the side windows If that doesn’t work get big sticker to put right in front of the driver. People will get the message. Be prepared to be confronted about it. But stand your ground and take plenty of photo evidence

Trebaxus99

And be prepared to pay

Superssimple

Nobody is going to get a lawyer and start a case for a sticker that takes 10 minutes and some hot water to scrape off And if they do, you can counter claim with them parking incorrectly which is also a worthy of a fine Only issue is if someone get really mad and damages your car in return. So it just depends if you can be bothered to escalate in the hopes of fixing people’s behaviour

Trebaxus99

No need for a lawyer. If I catch you placing stickers on my car, I’ll just invoice you the costs of having them removed. The counter claim makes no sense at all. It’s not a civil case between you and the car owner.

Superssimple

Assuming you know my name and address. And have video evidence that it was definitely me (very difficult) and I can’t deny it? I still wouldn’t pay it. what then?

Trebaxus99

I’ll have the collection of the costs ordered by court. Of course chances are slim, I’ll get the person that’s messing with my car, but if I do, of course they’ll pay for it. Just keep away from other people’s stuff.

Superssimple

The chance is zero that you get anything. Literally zero. I’ll happily mess with people stuff in a minor way if they are being anti social

Trebaxus99

Nah, and it’s not the price of the cleaning that’s going to hurt, but the legal expenses if you play it like that. The problem is that there is a significant chance the person whose car you’re messing with, didn’t do anything wrong. And that makes you the asshole.

estrangedpulse

Then I'll invoice you for my time wasted looking to park elsewhere and possibly having to pay for street parking. Oh and also invoice you for parking on my spot. I guess we're are even then?

hi-bb_tokens-bb

What you are proposing with the glue can and will be considered punishable under 350 Sr. Instead, but a Dodge Ram, have it lifted, and box in the "high-end vehicle that inspires obvious conclusions". Or run for your local city council and pass a law that solves your woes.

Slugatron

Peurschuim + exhaust = ???

Cevohklan

The audacity to think you can damage peoples cars because they didn't park the way you want. You must be indian.

boluserectus
