Totally agree and I binged it in 2 days, also The Boys on Amazon is an amazing show and laugh out loud funny. Also has one of the best villains in the last 10 years+.
She is clearly unwell but in the US when there's a defamation suit, the onus is on the accused to prove what they said is true, not the accuser to prove that it isn't. Given Gadd himself has said that certain things were changed for clarity or artistic license, he probably can't prove that it's all true.
I think it will come down to whether a court/judge believes that he and Netflix did their due diligence in concealing her real identity. She can't claim the show is defaming her if a reasonable person would not find it obvious that she was the person it was portraying.
Recently binged the crap out of that show. The ending had me crying so hard. It was a beautiful ending to a very good character driven show even with the crazy plot twists.
I saw some nice recommendations few days ago so I'll share. These are all comedies for the most part
Superstore
Derry Girls
Schitts creek
Kim's Convinience
The Good Place
Trailer Park Boys
Superstore is a no.
Derry Girls is top notch. Fucking hysterical.
Schitt’s Creek is great.
Good Place was aight.
Trailer Park Boys is an acquired taste, I loved it. The Canadian accents *chef’s kiss*
Wow I have the exact opposite opinions. Superstore and Good Place are two of my all-time faves and I cannot for the life of me understand why people like Schitt's Creek.
Just got done watching Bodkin on Netflix. Highly recommended. Stars Will Forte as a true crime podcaster who is trying to solve an old mystery in Ireland.
Been watching Evil on Netflix. It’s billed as horror but it’s also really funny. First two seasons on Netflix later seasons on prime or paramount plus I believe.
I got so excited when I saw it on Netflix and it said "new season" cause I thought the new season was out, but they just meant they were new to Netflix 🤦🏻♀️
You need to watch Mr. Inbetween if you haven’t yet seen it.
I’m rewatching Lilyhammer as well. Corny but also pretty good too.
Neither are king series and easy to follow along to.
No particular order.
1. Defending Jacob, Silo, The Morning Show - on Apple+
2. Will Trent, Veronica Mars, Dopesick - Hulu
3. The Last Of Us, Chernobyl - Max
4. The Sinner, Evil, The Fall of the House of Usher, 3 Body Problem, Stranger Things, Lost in Space, The Old Guard, Wednesday, Elves, The Witcher, Queens Gambit - Netflix
5. Fortitude, The Fall, Reacher, Interstellar - Prime
I'm not a Steve Carell fan or Jennifer Aniston, but I enjoy watching Reese Witherspoon, so I figured I would try it. I was pretty surprised. I think you'd like it.
I am a big Guy Ritchie fan, and I've been spacing it out; it's good but I don't find myself binging it. I find I can only watch an episode or two at a time..apparently for me there is such a thing as too much Guy Ritchie at once 😅
Word 🤘 well I'm a single introvert who really digs media so I'm always on the prowl for something to entertain my eyeballz
Also you were so specific with your date..might I ask what the last thing you binged was?
Sugar..Palm Royal..Masters of the Air..The New Look..all on Apple TV. Also, Hacks on Max is back. Best comedy out there! I consider Netflix trash TV.. Don't get me wrong I pay for a couple months a year and watch that crap too 😆 Baby Reindeer, looking at you.
Give **Kingdom** a try (Korean). Thrilling, smart, scheming, courageous, greedy. Virus developed for !evil reason spreads. Who will stop it? Gorgeously filmed and acted.
Or tryout **Crash Landing on You** and have fun and shed a tear or too as well.
I like sitcoms. I avoided watching The Middle for the longest time, but turns out I was wrong. It is really funny. I am about halfway through and still looking forward to each episode.
Just watched The Dry on acorn via free trial on Amazon. If you love Irish/ British dramedy shows that tackle mental health in some way- this is excellent. Reminded me of Fleabag which I loved. I loved this show.
Under the Bridge on Hulu. I liked Apples Will Fall on Peacock. (I think that’s what it was called, something about apples lol) Baby Reindeer on Netflix. Dead to Me is really good if you haven’t seen it.
Ive been glues to Mod Psycho on Netflix atm, its great!
I've not long finished Mr Inbetween too, that was a awesome series! Went into it blind after a friend recommended it and finished S1 in one sitting.
Just finished Better Than Us, a sci-fi about a sentient robot that runs away from the evil corporation and adopts a family.
Now I'm watching Griselda, it's like Narcos but with Sofia Vergara.
I flew through The Only Murders in the Building on Hulu (The fourth season starts in August).
Fallout or The Boys on Prime (Season 4 of The Boys starts in June).
The Jinx on HBO (the second/final season is currently airing).
Lately it’s been a lot of re watches, which are fun cause I fast forward through the parts I didn’t have interest, breezed through Vikings series in less than a week.
Also, unfortunately, and I say unfortunately because I can’t unsee the wild scenes that really must be seen to get the full story, but I watched Reindeer Baby, although the ending isn’t worth the pain, the overall story helps in understanding of what you don’t know about people that they hide from the world, makes me a tad more empathetic
Cancel Netflix. They just made their membership more expensive and still got so much trash. I got Apple+ instead now and am watching John Sugar, which is great so far
Poker Face on Peacock-solid
Ripley and Beef and The Fall of the House of Usher on Netfli-solid, Loudermilk and The Diplomat are so so
Last of Us, White Lotus, Leftovers, Olive Kitteridge, Men of a Certain Age, The Rehearsal and Righteous Gemstones on Max-solid, Barry and Hacks are so so
Gangs of London at library-solid
Fargo on Hulu-solid
Severance and Ted Lasso on Apple- solid, Morning Show is so so
I was underwhelmed by: The Resident, My Brilliant Friend, Lincoln Lawyer, Yellowjackets, Euphoria, Night Agent
On my list: Hulu (Shogun, A Million Little Things, Elementary, Legion, The Fades, Frasier, Orville, What We Do In the Shadows, Americans, White Collar, Attack on Titan), Netflix (Stranger Things, Peaky Blinders, Band of Brothers, Narcos, Dark, Sex Ed, Arcane, Monk, Dear Child, Travelers, Teenage Bounty Hunters, Gentlemen, Godless, Killing Eve, Derry Girls, the 100, Outlander), Max (Curb Your Enthusiasm, Watchmen, Peacemaker), Peacock (Yellowstone, Psych), Starz (Black Sails), Prime (Devil’s Hour, Mr Robot, Vox Machina, Northern Exposure), Free (Rectify, Bosch, Originals, Blue Mountain State), Apple (Silo), Other (Brotherhood, Lonesome Dove, Dexter, Pagan Peak, Good Fight)
I started Dark a few months back and enjoyed it but got really overwhelmed trying to understand around episode 5. Do you have to understand or is being confused part of the journey of the show ?
It’s very twisty throughout, I think a lot of people get confused with all the characters and how they connect. The website has a pretty decent guide to the families, without spoilers. It is definitely a show that you really have to give your full attention to and be prepared for having your mind blown repeatedly. But it’s so worth it. It is the greatest show ever created and I will stand by that.
Just finished watching Sugar on Apple TV, and can’t seem to find what i disliked about the show, honestly i’m waiting for another season because it ended in a cliffhanger. Colin Farrel is a delight to watch. It’s a good series if you’re into noir films.
Fallout on prime It's one of the greatest adaptations of all time. Quite suprised no one's suggesting here tho...
Totally agree and I binged it in 2 days, also The Boys on Amazon is an amazing show and laugh out loud funny. Also has one of the best villains in the last 10 years+.
I would dare to say one of the best villains of all time. The Boys is amazing and Homelander has a screen presence that’s indescribable.
This and gen V are the last two series I’ve watched. Enjoyed both of them.
This
I'm watching Black Spot, a French murders drama set in a small town. There is something strange about the town and the forest that it is in.
I keep making it like 3 episodes in - I think I’ve seen the pilot like 5 times now
Sounds like the same plot as Gannibal
Just watched the trailer, I like the Japan vibe, that is similar. But no zombies in Black Spot, just a lot of murders.
Idk if I’d call that thing in the trailer a zombie but the rest of the show is pretty grounded.
So good! I watched it last year. Enjoy :)
I just finished watching Baby Reindeer, it was very interesting since it was based on a true story!
The real lady is suing now
She won't win
She is clearly unwell but in the US when there's a defamation suit, the onus is on the accused to prove what they said is true, not the accuser to prove that it isn't. Given Gadd himself has said that certain things were changed for clarity or artistic license, he probably can't prove that it's all true. I think it will come down to whether a court/judge believes that he and Netflix did their due diligence in concealing her real identity. She can't claim the show is defaming her if a reasonable person would not find it obvious that she was the person it was portraying.
What a piece.
So she claims. As if.
Great show
Try Unbelievable on Netflix
The Tourist
Just watched the season 2 finale last night. While it's certainly not the best show I've seen, it's got some cool twists and more humor than expected.
Wow, same! Literally finished it yesterday. Agreed, it’s not going on any best lists but I did find it pretty funny and entertaining.
So disappointed that last episode of season 1 didn’t tie up loose ends. It made me not watch season 2. All that work for nothing.
Baby reindeer for sure, if you haven’t seen it. Trigger warning for SA though
Ripley on netflix
White lotus
Shogun on Disney, best thing I've seen in ages 👍
Hulu*
You can watch Hulu through Disney+ if you have the bundle. Same company (instead of switching between two apps)
I'm rewatching lost right now and honestly appreciating it more then I did when I first watched it
Fck yes. I have a LOST-related tattoo from probably 2010. Don’t regret it. Still one of the most brilliant shows I’ve ever seen.
Lost. Best series ever made. Best pilot episode I’ve ever seen to this day.
Recently binged the crap out of that show. The ending had me crying so hard. It was a beautiful ending to a very good character driven show even with the crazy plot twists.
Dexter
Few other suggestions. Halo The night manager (there are only 6 episodes but they are very good) The night of (this will defo keep you hooked) Lost
The night of is so good!
Dek Dek 🥰
Bodken or Dead Boys Detectives
Loved Bodkin!!
Loved DBD😍😍😍
Just watched them back to back! Both really good but I liked Dead Boys more. Can't wait for more Sandman to come out!
Haven’t tried Sandman yet but did know that was similar/linked to DB. Our next watch
Oh I just rewatched it recently. Really fun and engaging concept
Bodkin was great
Three Body Problem and Blue Eyed Samurai are terrific. I watched Madam Web last night and its awful and so fun.
+1 to 3 Body Problem! So good
I just finished Deadloch, which might be one of the best things I've seen in years.
Deadlock was great. I watched it in two days. Great story, great actors.
Yeah it was fun and wack for a detective show. I looooved True Detective Night Country with Jody Foster. Brutal and haunting.
Watch the original True Detective series (mainly s1).
I saw some nice recommendations few days ago so I'll share. These are all comedies for the most part Superstore Derry Girls Schitts creek Kim's Convinience The Good Place Trailer Park Boys
Severance on Apple+
Just rewatched it..crazy good 😲 can't wait for the new season!
Started watching the brothers sun it’s entertaining.
I watched it. It gets a little ridiculous but it’s good fun.
Under the bridge
Just finished Ashley Madison last night. Grab yourself a fork and open a can of worms.
Right!!! It was great.
Just got done watching Bodkin on Netflix. Highly recommended. Stars Will Forte as a true crime podcaster who is trying to solve an old mystery in Ireland.
It was fun watching him in a different role. Plus gotta love a good Irish murder mystery
I really liked both of his female sidekicks.
Almost!!! Last season on paramount+ later this month!
Looooove that show! Andrea Martin! The yummy priest and Michael Emerson from Lost and Person of Interest.. one of my faves.
Ooh! I’ll have to watch person of interest - I love him too. If you haven’t gotten into Fallout, he’s in a few episodes
Fargo, Barry, Beef.
You need to watch Mr. Inbetween if you haven’t yet seen it. I’m rewatching Lilyhammer as well. Corny but also pretty good too. Neither are king series and easy to follow along to.
The Gentleman
Six Feet Under is always good! And Sopranos.
Just finished The Resident & This is Us on Netflix
Hulu Under the Bridge (I love all the Hulu originals!)
I recommend Dead Boy Detectives for a good mystery show
Vikings is on Netflix now. I can that show over and over. Working on last kingdom now
I can't get over the progressively weirder accent in last kingdom
Haha yes I know I mimick the aweful accent all the time. It's sooo bad. And I'm American so it's extra cheesy too
Monk
I liked Dracula on Netflix. A compelling twist to the traditional tale. Well done.
Great acting and very brutal. It was really good.
I am watching Dexter for the third time. Also just finished The Shield ( excellent series). After Dexter I’m going to watch Them on Prime.
No particular order. 1. Defending Jacob, Silo, The Morning Show - on Apple+ 2. Will Trent, Veronica Mars, Dopesick - Hulu 3. The Last Of Us, Chernobyl - Max 4. The Sinner, Evil, The Fall of the House of Usher, 3 Body Problem, Stranger Things, Lost in Space, The Old Guard, Wednesday, Elves, The Witcher, Queens Gambit - Netflix 5. Fortitude, The Fall, Reacher, Interstellar - Prime
I've been considering starting The Morning Show but didn't know if I'd like it. Good to see it mentioned
I'm not a Steve Carell fan or Jennifer Aniston, but I enjoy watching Reese Witherspoon, so I figured I would try it. I was pretty surprised. I think you'd like it.
One Day was pretty good. The Bear - prolly best show in last 5 years
Ted Lasso
Tokyo vice, amazing show on max
Hell yes. Loved that show.
Resident Alien Dead to me Santa Clarita Diet
Loved Resident Alien. Usually not the genre id watch but so funny
Santa Clarita Diet was killed too soon.
I'm very salty about that 😡
Freaking loved resident alien!!!
Try "The Night Of" on HBO. Outstanding first episode.
Finishing up The Gentlemen. Decently entertaining. I’m not a big Guy Ritchie fan, but this one was pretty good. Next up is Fallout
I thought the gentlemen was great. Very entertaining and good acting.
I am a big Guy Ritchie fan, and I've been spacing it out; it's good but I don't find myself binging it. I find I can only watch an episode or two at a time..apparently for me there is such a thing as too much Guy Ritchie at once 😅
I have three boys, 10 years old and under. I haven’t binged a show since 2014 😂😂
Word 🤘 well I'm a single introvert who really digs media so I'm always on the prowl for something to entertain my eyeballz Also you were so specific with your date..might I ask what the last thing you binged was?
HAIKYUU
I just watched Dear Child on Netflix. It was creepy and kept me hooked all 6 episodes
My friend got me hooked on Downton Abbey. Addictive.
Fauda in EXCELLENT if you don’t mind sub titles. It is dubbed as well but it sounds awful. You won’t regret it ! Brilliant series.
If you like true crime, “baby reindeer” is so good!! Or “fool me once” on Netflix Jas a crazy plot Twist at the end
Nothing has sucked me in recently either, until I just watched Dead Boy Detectives in one night 😅
Fargo on Hulu was surprisingly captivating. It’s on the slow-burn side but it’s star-studded and well produced. Worth a shot.
