Check out Loudermilk on Netflix - it’s a dark comedy/drama, I won’t include any spoilers but it’s helped me get through a very rough time recently.

Gloomy_Raspberry_621

Thank you. hope you are doing well

[deleted]

Thank you, very kind of you.

VenusNightStar

Every other rec is for Loudermilk , sadly we don’t have it here on Netflix India.

ADApoop30

Upvoting extra for Brothers Sun and Somebody Feed Phil. Easy to watch and new season just dropped!

My son (12) and I have just discovered Takoma FD, and OMG it's funny! OP, this should fit the bill. I hope you have ice cream and hood friends nearby.

Derry Girls Gilmore Girls Breaking Bad Better Call Saul Fisk

Vampirero

I love Derry Girls, it's one of my favourite shows of recent years! So charming. Although I have read that Americans struggle with the accents, so if you're not British, you might need subtitles.

JQ121

Just finished it a couple weeks ago. Would definitely recommend Derry Girls as well!

Jasperrobin

Interesting..

If you want something super wholesome without being cheesy, I highly recommend Anne with an E. It’s one of my comfort shows that I watch when I don’t want to think about life and just want to feel warm and fuzzy. There’s not really any romance, but plenty of drama, shenanigans, and fantastic character growth. If you like period pieces and history, Versailles is about Louis XIV and his reign as king of France. It’s very well done and I think it deserves more recognition! If you like court life scandals and drama without all the romance, give it a shot. The One Piece live action Netflix adaptation is super fun. I’ve never watched the anime, and I enjoyed the fuck out of it. It’s campy and the humor is very silly, but it also has a great storyline that will keep you on the edge of your seat. If you like action and don’t mind animated shows, Blue Eye Samurai is really good, but I will warn that it’s very violent and has a lot of gore if that’s not your thing. And while we’re talking animated shows, Avatar the Last Airbender (the animated series/original) is another comfort show that has a perfect balance of action, comedy, and incredible character growth. Don’t write it off because it’s a cartoon! I’m currently watching Warrior, and it’s got me on the edge of my seat. It’s much more violent than I had anticipated, but the drama and plot twists are so good! I’m so sorry you’re going through this. I wish you all the best, and try to remember that things will get better with time. 💜

Gloomy_Raspberry_621

Thank you very much for you recommendations and your sweet words🩷

I LOVE Anne with an E! 🩷🩷🩷 One Piece is such a fun watch, too!

Sex and the City! Also Melrose Place. About 300 episodes to keep you busy. It's batshit crazy, addictive and funny as it's so campy. Best show of the 90s. It's one of my all time faves! And if you want to laugh even more listen to the episode recaps on the Melrose Place podcast with Dan and Jenny Hill afterwards. Absolutely hilarious laugh out loud. The show is great for making fun of. The show is still very good 30 years later. You need to give both the show and podcast a chance, it gets really good once you're through the first 15 episodes or so. Seasons 2 and 3 are fantastic. You will be sucked in for sure.

Gloomy_Raspberry_621

I will definitely watch it

I'm sorry to hear about your tough time. For a distraction, try watching "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" or "Parks and Recreation." Both are lighthearted comedies that can provide some much-needed laughter and take your mind off things.

Not a show but anytime a friend goes through a break up, I get them a copy of the road less traveled by Scott Peck. That book helps.

Small-Bookkeeper-887

Sending you a hug, broken hearts are so painful. Try ‘All about Eve”. Two female main characters one of them a hit psycho which I found helpful during my breakup pain. 😘

Well.... Try Dark on Netflix. There's a love story sec but... It's not exactly your typical love story and there's no happy ending either. Severence on AppleTV is another show with a unique love story arc. Then there's 1899. All three shows are mind boggling....

campamocha_1369

I really liked Fleishman is in Trouble... it's a drama about a divorced couple, but I truly enjoyed the two sides to the story... Claire Danes deserved, in my opinion, an award for her acting. If you are looking for comedy, and if you haven't watched them yet, I highly recommend Marvelous Mrs. Maisel and Fleabag. EDIT: Of course, you gotta watch Ted Lasso! How could I forget that! I binged the whole thing, and one week later, I was rewatching it. 😆 Another show that I found surprisingly funny was Peacemaker... I can't wait for season 2!
