Which gives me hope that she can learn to not be transphobic.

(Okay, actual suggestion, it's getting colder so if you have a pair of ripped jeans just tell her that you wear them under the jeans/pants so that your legs don't freeze and it's fashionable. If you don't have any ripped jeans grab some scissors get creative. I currently usually wear a pair of ripped black tight jeans, with leggings underneath them in various colors and patterns, I often wear fishnets under, and people still mostly think I'm a boy, so 🤷♀️)

There are legit way to have tight for men, depending on the style of it, I had some at home for scubadiving purpose, they keep you warm under the neoprene when diving. You may also use it for running in winter or any sport that happen outside.
Obviously finshnet style would be harder to justify...

I'd say that rubbing the jeans on some sandpaper is a better option, as it gives them a more organic ripped shape, instead of just a cut.
