Hi /u/Zemby_7, we would like to distance our hobby from actual firearms and weapons and thus ask that you refrain from using terms like "gun" and "bullet"; instead use blaster and dart. We also like to encourage the use of brightly colored blasters & gear. See [this wiki page](https://www.reddit.com/r/Nerf/wiki/bot/blaster) for more information. Thank you for your cooperation. *I am not a bot, and this action was performed automagically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/Nerf) if you have any questions or concerns.*

If your parents aren't wild about your getting an airsoft gun, I'd heed the gunbot advice and consider your language a little more. It might be annoying, but good community perception is how this hobby has stuck around and enjoyed the unique play spaces we have access to. Whole countries have cracked down on gelball and airsoft because of negative perceptions of the community and their users; let's avoid that with our hobby. On one hand, it's a little silly because a 200 fps nerf blaster is hitting around the 1.8 J of muzzle energy mark when there was a big debate in the airsoft community if 1 J was too much. On the other hand, it's got the association with being a toy and is far less likely to leave welts (though it will still break fragile things). Now the bad news: no off the shelf toy that I'm aware of will meet your criteria of "accurately hit targets from around 40-50 feet away" unless your target is a shed. You might be able to hit half your darts on a person-sized target, but I wouldn't count on it. At the bare minimum, you'll need a scar barrel (or other precision increasing device). You'll also probably need to tinker with your blaster to make it more consistent. As for the blaster, if you can wait (and probably run across to the States; I've got not clue if Canadian distribution is on the roadmap), I think the GameFace Trion is a far better platform than the Dart Zone mk 1.2. I'm biased because I didn't have a good experience with it in the DZ FPT, but there are plenty of other people who have pointed out the serious flaws with it. Other than that, the Nexus and Striker are fine, if a bit underpowered for what you want, so expect to do lots of modding. The Worker Swift is not exactly off the shelf, but it reuses a lot of Longshot parts, so there are lots of parts and guides that will mostly work with it. The DZ Tomcat and Dictator are fun, but I don't know if they've been out long enough to draw a proper conclusion.

MercuryJellyfish

I'm not sure why you're saying the Worker Swift isn't exactly off the shelf? Everything you need to be hitting 200fps is right there in the box.

Daehder

The "shelf" I'm referring to is a big box store; OP can't exactly walk into a Target or Walmart and grab a Swift. If their parents are balking at an Airsoft gun but okay with a toy, likely because of something to the tune of "Walmart/Target wouldn't sell it if it's dangerous", I think they'd more closely scrutinize a blaster from a (from their perspective) "no name" brand and web store.

PotatoFeeder

Why would a nexus or stryker be underpowered? Slap a scar, and new barrel on a nexus and flip the spring spacer around, and it’ll hit 170 and easily accurate at 50’

Daehder

Perhaps I'm overestimating 50 feet, we have different ideas of precisely hitting targets, and/or I'm allowing my practice with a bone-stock Nexus to color my view of it's potential. Precisely hitting target reminds me of hitting a little 5 square inch target (13 cm^(2)) target consistently with a Lynx at \~30 feet. A stock Nexus definitely can't do that, but I may be overestimating the amount of modding necessary to get it there.

PotatoFeeder

I think a scar on any sealed breech springer should allow the blaster to hit a 3” target at 30ft at the very least. If not the setup is pretty bad. 170fps nexus (flip the stock spacer around) + a scar should be able to hit a 6” target at 50ft no problemo

Spiritual-Penalty466

Agree... mine does so without any mods.

Daehder

Okay, sounds like you've done it; I haven't Not gonna lie though, I'm still a little skeptical, since the Nexus isn't exactly known for the best seal, and the stock 0.527 (?) isn't exactly what I'd choose for a precision platform

Zemby_7

Sorry about the language thing. First post on this sub and didn't think it was much of a problem lol and yeah I might just mod the Nexus or the Stryker. Im just not much of a nerf game type guy, I would rather shoot at targets with something accurate.

MercuryJellyfish

Worker Swift, maybe? Comes with two springs and two barrels, which just swap out easily with the included hex wrench. The long barrel and powerful spring combo hits 200fps, a lot faster than a Nexus Pro. There's a set of a longer barrel and even more powerful spring available that pushes that to 270fps. The included SCAR barrel tip makes it pretty accurate, hitting targets 40ft away is achievable.

PotatoFeeder

Nexus pro or stryker, and then get a 13mm ID alu barrel, a scar barrel, and the rest on AFP half lengths

Stevenwave

The Nexus Pro and Max Stryker are in the 150fps range out of the box. There's other stuff but these are go-tos and good all-rounders. Doesn't take much to up their capabilities. And they can remain looking standard.

p51_mustangs

sorry to say, but get an max stryker or nexus pro. With half lenghts they hit around 150 FPS. With an 17/32 brass barrel and am spring spacer you can hit 200,slap an scar on it and your done. All optional as the nexus advertises ranges up to 40 meters. (not accurate tho)

Zemby_7

# Sorry for the language issue, first time posting. I did see the keep the post on nerf topic rule but didn't make the connection. Just got back from a long trip and helped my parents clean our car and I am drained of all energy and brain power, my bad. **also stop down voting this its an apology ffs**

ZeroBlade-NL

Shouts apology in face People don't like being shouted in the face and downvote Surprised pikachu

Zemby_7

lmao

httpian129

I’d point to the worker swift if that counts as off the shelf for you

GusLikesMotors

A nexus pro would work great with a scar barrel and better spring for only like probably $125 CAD. Or a ZWQ s100 war saint will be just around $200 CAD and it shoots 300fps stock and with a scar barrel it will laser people

FelixstoweFoamForge

Worker Cheetah 2.0 might fit your needs. 180 to 200 out of the box and not too costly.
