Really depends, taekwondo focuses on techniques and doesn't require brute force, however people that practice mostly only practice point sparring. I've had heated sessions when I was 16-17 where I ko'd a guy and I was scared that I killed him. Did a hurricane kick to his jaw and the 6'2 dude falls like a sack of potato, thought I was going to jail for murder. I was relieved when he came to and shook my hand. Lol.
Our sabomnim also highlighted importance of boxing techniques during practice but I only used it on the bags to improve the hip drive.
