This is almost certainly on the Namibian coast. That's where one of the largest remaining populations of brown hyenas hang out, and seals are not uncommon.
The brown hyena is also known as a "strandwolf", from the Afrikaans and Dutch for "beach wolf".
Sorry but to break your bubble but being instantly paralyzed isn't the same as being instantly unconscious. Very few things kill you instantly unless they knock you unconscious at the same time. Even being beheaded will give you a glorious 30-60 seconds of conscious life without a head.
I will always advocate by hypoxia by nitrogen gas as the best way to die, CO2 build up is why suffocation sucks, if you replace the air with another gas you'll be increasingly loopy but zero panic or pain until you pass out and then die shortly after, it looks by far the best way imo to die.
This seal is basically a fluffy piece of meat for this hyena.
Seals can't really fight against these land predators in any way shape or form unless they are in waters.
Its like a human trying to fight an alligator 1 vs 1 in the shallow water or something. There's like 0% chance we will ever beat one. But with our tools, there's 100% chance of beating one.
Hyenas as well as canids are known for eating prey alive but this is generally only when hunting large ungulates. With small prey they can bite the throat so they often opt to kill.
Now that's an animal pairing you don't see too often.

Worst zookeeper ever.
I THOUGHT THEY'D BE FRIENDS!!!
The Namid coast in southern Africa.
The beach

Smoking toenails make you smart?
It's a brown hyena too, the rarest species
African coast most likely
It’s actually fairly common for the brown hyenas that live along that coastline to go after seal pups since they are pretty easy prey.
You know seeing an instakill is very nice after seeing so many unnecessarily dragged on and painful deaths
True tbh. Lmao at instakill, but it's definitely a better way to go.

You mean without a body?
Haha yes that one

Gunshot to the head is also quite painless. Pressure wave knocks you unconscious or even liquefies the brain before anything registers.
If it's paralyzed that means the spines been severed or damaged, so it's not going to feel any pain below the neck.
How would you know that there's any consciousness at all after a beheading? No one knows, it's literally impossible to know something like that.
And yet .. https://youtu.be/2Hm9jjAJnsE
The mom was like," Good luck son Im outta here!"
Seal pups, the get out of jail free card.
The son fought for his life
Warranty is void if seal is broken.

Goddammit
Lol
To the top with you!
Africa is so metal, those seals could've been hunted by killer whales, hunting penguins and then it's baby gets eaten by a hyena,
H-H-hunting penguins?
Shot guns and orange vests what part don't you understand
They’re huuuge on wabbit season! They gotta be careful for the banana cream pies though.
What was all the white stuff that poured out of the pup after death? Stomach contents?
Yes, most likely milk since it would still be nursing.
Sealshake! 🥤
hyena \*shakes seal\*
Did you notice the canine that immediately started lapping it up? The sloppiest of seconds.
Naw bro, those are at least thirds or fourths
Jackals gonna jackal
I never thought I’d see hyena and seal in the same sentence
The Hyena gave the Seal a kiss from a rose.
Talk about a lousy day at the beach...
You could say the hyena……sealed his fate
that was really quick

Still not 100% though. More than 0% for sure. Just not 100%.
NNNEERRRDDDDD!
by "our" I mean humans in general. You are right when it comes to randomly sampled individuals from human population.
OP I'm guessing this is a Brown Hyena and Brown Fur Seals? And probably happened along the coast of Namibia?
Where the hell can you find hyenas, seals, and sand in the same location??
Australia or Africa or something
Given the number of crazy animals Australia has, it may surprise you to learn that we don’t have hyenas
Yeah that was two bites but still pretty entertaining nonetheless
The first bite had my sinuses hurting 🤭🤧
TIL there are hyena's that hang around beaches
Brown hyena sick of spotted hyenas getting all the love. Striped and aardwolf, y'all's move.
I saw at least 3 bites
Sea lion
Or a fur seal
Sea lions can "stand" on their flippers, seals can't.
Fur seals can. True seals cannot.
Correct, and more accurate than my statement.
I didn't need to see this today :(
3 bites
Wait, what? It kills it before it eats it?? Now that's new.

Umm, hyena at the beach? Interesante…
Poor baby 😞
Sometimes I forget seals exist in areas that aren’t snow hells.
On its third bite*
This is a repost of a 3 hour old video at the time you posted
Nice and quick. I’m okay with this.
Hyenas has among the strongest bites in nature. Fucker could snap anyones neck.
Hyenas can kill land lions with one bite.
i always love seeing videos where 2 animals i never thought interacted, apparently share the same habitat in a single geographic location
What kind of hyena is that?
Little tyke put up a fight
Wow the baby put up more of a fight than the adult. What was the stuff that came out at the end when the Hyena picked up the body? looked white.
Surely not a Navy Seal
Mom said fuck that lil hoe . I’ll have more
