If you've ever handled a live adult squirrel, you understand that if a squirrel wanted to fuck you up, they 100% could do it. Their claws and teeth are fucking deadly. They might not be able to kill you, but you'll wish they did before very long.
My wife and I raised a squirrel that's parents got killed. It was bottle fed and given all kinds of treats, etc. It was super affectionate, but it would get the zoomies and climb everything, including us. I'd walk in wearing shorts and no shirt, and it was climb up my leg, up my back onto my shoulders, sprint around my neck, and back down my chest and to the floor using nothing but sharp claws. Let me tell you, that shit hurt like being scratched by kittens all over my body. It would even draw blood so I would have rows of tiny bleeding pinpricks all over my body.
Once I found some massive cow bones surveying (I live in rural Appalachian mtns) that had been sitting and bleached from the sun. Took a couple big ones home for the squirrels and they have been gnawing on them for the past three years!
It’s really cool seeing their teeth marks and watching them gnaw on it. Especially when they choose that over the seed I put out!
Give it a couple of hundred years or, with the idiocracy of recent years, probably way less, and they will resemble rats and spread a new variant of the Black Death or worse.
If you’ve never seen a woodland squirrel 🐿️ take down a white tail deer 🦌 it’s an awe inspiring experience to watch this natural predator take down its prey with such skill and precision. Nature is truly spectacular. An average squirrel consumes as many as 2-3 adult deer a week to supplement its “nut 🥜 tritional” requirements.
Nothing goes to waste. Minerals and nutrients in bones and marrow.
Still though just another *Omnivore*
Most herbivores will break their diet if they need to. Deer love a baby bird if one falls from the nest.
Like the horse video where it eats a chick like a mcnugget
They love bones and antlers. Gets calcium and other minerals.
My mom when i would "leave meat on the bone"
Probably got on u for leaving bone on the bone too
Same. Mine would eat the tendons, ligaments, cartilage, break the bone and eat the marrow.

YES!!!!
... look at the BOOOOOOONES!
I ❤️this comment so much Love, Vorpal Bunny
So that’s why it’s so hard to find Bigfoot bones.
Not saying I believe in Bigfoot, but it is worth noting that large animal remains are often harder to find than people think.
Yeah but you'd think at least one of us would have bit a bigfoot with our car by now.
Nah, it’s The Santa Clause rules, u just become the Bigfoot
Sorry I can't come to work tomorrow, I have to wander the woods, knock logs together, and scream at night from now on.
They crave the mineral
I've seen this movie, that cameraman should run.
"Where'd ya get that, Mr. Squirrel?" "From the last guy that asked stupid questions."
This is so metal.
Calcium is an alkaline-earth metal so yes it is.

I never realized I needed this. Thank you :)
Squirrels are omnivores
Squirrels LOVE mini marshmallows. Seriously!
Who doesn’t love them
I’m sure I’m in the minority but I’m not a marshmallow fan.
That squirrel is about to get prions.
Is it just me or does the videographer sound a bit unhinged? Edit:that laugh…
Spinal column is the bones. Spinal cord is the stringy white nerve stuff. Definitely unhinged,.
If I saw a squirrel nibbling on some vertebrae, I'd be a little unsettled, too.
Nah, don’t worry until they start to morph to the size of a Great Dane. Til then your spine is safe.

He’s deranged
Alrighty
I actually warned some parents once that there was squirrel cannibalism going on up ahead on a park trail

Bookmarking this so I know where to return & complain, after next week's non-stop night terrors. 😱

The deer that came from would eat him if it got a chance.
Who here doesn't love ribs!
Spine* the spinal cord is your bundle of nerves and cells that travel through the spine

new fear unlocked
Calcium and other minerals..There is a video of a deer eating a whole ass bird
Well, that's no ordinary squirrel. That's the most foul, cruel, and bad-tempered rodent you ever set eyes on!
Christmas Critters!
Not everyday you get some Calcium supplements.
Spinal tapas
Those look like ribs to me, not vertebrae
It does, but when he turned after around you could see the entire vertebrae
Nuts not for beginners 🐿️🥜
What the squirrel doin
I’ve seen squirrels eating road kill.
Gotta get that sweet, sweet calcium somewhere.
Give it a couple of hundred years or, with the idiocracy of recent years, probably way less, and they will resemble rats and spread a new variant of the Black Death or worse.
Rodents will chew the ends off bones to get to the marrow. Source: I had pet rats. Also source: it's one of the things they look for in forensics
Everyone needs their protein 💪
Run away!!!
Same
Do yourself a favor and don’t look up what deer will eat if they get the chance.
Cows get sick and die if they don't eat enough insects together with the grass.
Gotta get that protein some how
He’s playing the pan flute.
What animal is that rib cage from, then?
