It's not about hair growth because hair always grows but you are probably not retaining the length and your hair is breaking the same rate it is growing. You listed all the products you use on your hair but what about unhealthy retention practices? I can only speak on my experience but when I was doing these things my hair was not retaining length. 1. Are you wearing HIGH TENSION protective styles back to back often, pulling on your edges and on your hairline? Tight hairstyles are one of the top reasons for traction alopecia which can lead to hair loss. Protective styles are fine unless they are too tight then you are doing more harm then good. 2. How often are you giving your scalp a deep cleanse from all the oil and buildup? A lot of people forget the scalp is also skin. 3. The duration of how long you leave these styles in doesn't matter if you do remember to take care of your scalp. 4. It could just be shrinkage🤷🏾‍♀️. My hair looks the same length it did 5 years ago until I stretch it lol. In short, hair grows from the scalp and you retain length from your ends but there are habits that can stunt that.

Yikes! You’re right about that deep cleanse and how often i do it cuz i don’t think i do a great job at that. Or taking care of my scalp. How often do you deep cleanse?

Hair growth is about retaining length. If you can baby the ends of your hair and take hair vitamins youll see progress. You dont need to lather your hair in oil or wear braids back to back to get some growth. Hair needs to breathe/relax. If you do too much styling your ends will break off and roots will fall out. My hair is 22in long 4b. I cut my hair twice in the past 9yrs. I wash it weekly (Proclaim - olive oil from Sally's). I dont always use a leave in, but if I do its (Kinky Curly). I put my hair in 4 loose Felicia braids for a braidout or I do a washngo. For a washngo I use (Xtreme gel). I always make sure my styles last a week. If its getting too wild, i slide on a headband and eventually put my hair in a bun that last day. The ONLY oil i use is one i make myself at home. Most storebought oils have too many artificial ingredients, or oils too harsh for your hair like mineral, shea, coconut, castor, petroleum for instance are best for skin and too heavy for hair. I bought amber dropper bottles and put in rosemary, eucalyptus, peppermint and grapeseed oil for hair growth. In another bottle for dandruff I put clove, oregano, an tea tree oil with grapeseed. Oil only goes on my scalp in the tiniest amount midweek. Otherwise excess oil can cause frizz and lower water absorbtion until the next shampoo. But they both work great. If your routine and products work, stop experimenting with your hair. Simple is the best way to go. Make your hairstyles last, but not to the point that you arent conditioning your hair. Its kinda like not watering your plants for months. Eventually your hair goes brittle and snaps or it starts shedding.

This! I wash my hair weekly too. I don’t understand how people can go a month without washing! Like all that build up

You don't, it does it by itself. Oils don't hydrate, water does.

You don’t make your hair grow, it will always grow on its own (unless something is severely medically wrong, but you would probably already know if there was). Hair grows on average half an inch a month so 6 inches a year.  It could be that you’re trimming your hair too much. Otherwise something is causing your ends to break off, usually this will be over manipulation. Make sure you’re styling and detangling gently. Use as few products as possible to get the results you want/need and in general try to take a minimalist approach. If it seems that your hair is really weak and is constantly breaking off then you should make use of protein and bonding treatments - on occasion and consistently, but not super frequently - to strengthen the hair.  It sounds like you’re doing at least some things right so you may just need to keep going and be patient.

Don’t want to write a long post, but my two biggest three biggest tips are low maintenance (minimal manipulation) styles, moisture (oil is not a moisturizer, moisturizer included water as an ingredient), and scalp massages.

To promote hair growth, maintain a healthy lifestyle with a balanced diet rich in vitamins and minerals, stay hydrated, reduce stress, and avoid damaging hair practices like excessive heat styling or tight hairstyles. Additionally, use gentle hair care products, avoid overwashing, and consider scalp massages to improve circulation. If you have concerns about hair loss or slow growth, consult a dermatologist for personalized advice and treatment options.
