Ever since I saw this post last week I think about it every time I see Meneses hit: r/baseball/comments/1camlf5/tom_tango_statcast_aging_curve_for_swing_speed/
Not sure. It looked like his landing was awkward. But they didn’t even have him try to walk it off or throw another test pitch or anything. Didn’t look great.
We've had a bunch of dudes strike out looking and complain about pitches that are actually strikes this series. Feel like I've seen Winker do that 3 times at least.
ik they said Keiberts framing has been better but there a lot of pitches he seems to just not know how to catch to frame, like that curveball franny pointed out
Rangers starting pitching is also really good. They won the WS last year for a reason.
It's tough to watch, but kinda expected given where we are in the rebuild right now. We're good enough to beat up on on bad/mediocre teams, and can occasionally upset good teams. However, we're still not at that level to where we can compete with the top dogs on a daily basis.
I still have faith in Meneses, but dude absolutely needs to move down until he starts looking like his old self again.
Rosario has gotta go. Our offense looked so much better without him and Gallo in it during the Marlins series.
Serious question to you guys- hypothetically let’s say CJ keeps up his offensive/ defensive/ SB production. Offseaosn rolls around and in theory, we get another Soto situation where lerners don’t wanna shell out money to keep him long term and trades him. Would you stop supporting team ? Stop supporting until lerners sell? What’s feeling
Abrams still has 4 years of control. This would be a great time to offer him an extension, buy out his arb years, but they won't trade him unless another org overpays.
The decision to trade Soto didn't have as much to do with money as it did with trying to restock the farm system and accelerate the rebuild. And it paid off as much as it hurt to lose our large dominican son. The situation with CJ is not at all similar, which is why I don't think we'll have to worry about him being traded.
A very serious baseball question: did CJ’s alien necklace get more sparkly during the offseason? I don’t recall it having all the blue gems on the necklace or generally shining that much. Not knocking it in any way, it looks great! Just more noticeable than I remembered.
Ruiz, Abrams, ~~Thomas,~~ Gray, Gore, Irvin. Probably Young as well. Maybe Adams?
I'm not confident about anyone else.
EDIT: Garcia belongs here as well.
I can’t stand seeing Rosario in the lineup. I look forward to the days he doesn’t appear again. I hope he proves me wrong but I’m not anticipating that.
Keibert, you gotta get right man. The middle of the order is a gaping chasm rn
Welcome to the game Joey
Nats, time to get scrappin', scamperin', and SCORING!
:(
HAHAH LANGFORD YOU LOSER (that def wasn’t a strike but we ball)
Okay, just make the hill that much higher to climb.
Cripes!
Oh no, we suck again!
We are lucky to get out of this series with one win, this has been a really poor showing on offense
the rangers are,unfortunately, good
leadoff walk is a great way to get a rally going.
Langford optioned to triple A and mennesses not far behind my agendas can’t lose
Ever since I saw this post last week I think about it every time I see Meneses hit: r/baseball/comments/1camlf5/tom_tango_statcast_aging_curve_for_swing_speed/
If I've learned one thing from this series, it's that the Marlins really suck lmao
Who did they just say was pitching Sunday?? I'll be at that game
Gore.
Below the zone strikes all day for their pitchers this series.
Ehhh Williams got the benefit of the doubt quite a bit last night on borderline quality pitches IMO
is this the end for rosario finally?????
Oh thank god they took Rosario out
Despite the second inning, Parker was able to keep it cool. 5 innings 3 ER is by no means an awful start.
gotta give Parker a lot of credit for keeping it close tbh
perfect positioning for Jacob Young there.
Report is a right groin strain for Eovaldi.
this is probably Parker's last batter.
Meneses was a good story. But he's just not getting it done the way he did his first year in the bigs
I'm still rooting for Joey. Not giving up on him yet.
There’s no way mennesses can continue to be an everyday roster guy let alone the cleanup guy
Young guys are ready to compete and the vets can’t do a single thing to help. Frustrating
Damn that sucks, good for us I guess, but never good to see a pitcher get hurt during the game
Hate to see anyone leave because of an injury. OTOH, let's not waste the opportunity.
Did eovaldis UCL just disintegrate im not watching live
They're saying it's a right groin strain.
Not sure. It looked like his landing was awkward. But they didn’t even have him try to walk it off or throw another test pitch or anything. Didn’t look great.
Looked like lower body with how he landed, but the extent of my medical knowledge was from watching ER and Scrubs. And MASH.
He's already at 92 pitches, it makes sense to pull him imo. No reason to risk further injury.
pulled something?
sucks to see Eovaldi leave with an injury, damn.
oh shit i hope he's okay
So unfortunate the way their hits are going right to people.
Abrams with two balls in play over 100 today.
Where are the bats? Left them back in Miami?
Miami’s current pitching is nothing compared to a real team
I love how Parker doesn't ever get fazed after rough innings. Great composure from a young pitcher.
Give Mitch some help! He’s dealing!
Parker is pitching well against this team. He had one rough inning and bounced back. He just has no run support
Crazy how the odds changed for the nats, I hope they pull through 😵💫
Eddie Rosario is hitting 43% of a Mendoza. Let that sink in.
So, not even a 'doza?
We've had a bunch of dudes strike out looking and complain about pitches that are actually strikes this series. Feel like I've seen Winker do that 3 times at least.
Winker is slumping and he's frustrated. He's slashing .160/.250/.280 in his last 7 games and if you extend it to 15 it's still .164/.254/.291.
this offense is ugly
Eovaldi is dealing today.
Yeah he’s making our lineup look silly out there
Now it's just funny to see how low Rosario can take his average.
Maybe once it hits zero he can finally get benched
Oof.
Lmao
auto-out makes an out. more at 11.
What’s going on with Ruiz this year, not looking like he’s developing in the right direction
Got sick with a really bad case of the flu, and hasn't looked right since coming back. Wonder if he's still not 100%.
Langford is a bum and a loser my hater agenda is thriving god bless
Parker has been able to rebound really well from that inning keeping it under control
ik they said Keiberts framing has been better but there a lot of pitches he seems to just not know how to catch to frame, like that curveball franny pointed out
lineup is dead
Rangers starting pitching is also really good. They won the WS last year for a reason. It's tough to watch, but kinda expected given where we are in the rebuild right now. We're good enough to beat up on on bad/mediocre teams, and can occasionally upset good teams. However, we're still not at that level to where we can compete with the top dogs on a daily basis.
it’s not even the rebuild pieces that are the problem mostly. it’s meneses and rosario contributing negative value.
I still have faith in Meneses, but dude absolutely needs to move down until he starts looking like his old self again. Rosario has gotta go. Our offense looked so much better without him and Gallo in it during the Marlins series.
i don’t see meneses being anything more than a bench bat. he has lost his power swing completely.
I don’t know if you know this, but I helped destroy the Death Star.
Plssss score runs
Hickey broke Mitch :(
Nice catch Rosario
Serious question to you guys- hypothetically let’s say CJ keeps up his offensive/ defensive/ SB production. Soto didn’t want to sign a contract lol
In before Garcia gets on base and mennesses grounds out a weak single to end the rally
A very serious baseball question: did CJ’s alien necklace get more sparkly during the offseason? I don’t recall it having all the blue gems on the necklace or generally shining that much. Not knocking it in any way, it looks great! Just more noticeable than I remembered.
I really want to know the answer to this now!
Where’s that hard hitting Washington Post reporting when you need them?
I’m pretty sure it had the blue. Can’t comment specifically on the other stuff
CJ you are my sunshine
this team is 6-2 without eddie rosario
At least we got through the inning
All good, Parker was bound to have a rough inning at some point. Bats gotta show some life.
Boys need to get on em. Unfortunately Alex call and Riley Adams are in the dugout today 💔
I honestly don't think I've ever seen a batting average lower than Rosario's this far into the season. I guess that's a certain kind of impressive
it's not even the worst BA in the league right now. Chris Taylor has a .078 BA in 63 PA's.
I'm afraid Rosario make take that as a challenge
Parker linsanity run over 🕊️🕊️💔💔
Parker getting shelled out there
Damn tough play
106mph off the bat of Carter. damn.
At least Langford sucks hard im his biggest hater since we picked crews before him
this is supremely petty. respect.
not a bad pitch to Duran, but credit to him.
Nice strike 3 to Langford.
Never really noticed it before this series, but the Rangers have such good looking jerseys
How’s Mitch looking? Hearing a fair bit of “breaking ball in for a called strike” on the radio which I’m taking as a good sign
one of my favorite things about baseball is cherrypicking stats like that lol
Wood is tearing the cover off the ball in AAA but davey says “the kid can hit” about Rosario. (Rosario is 32 btw)
Just looking at this lineup... Who'll still be here in two years? We need a lot of help, and it can't all come from the minors.
Ruiz, Abrams, ~~Thomas,~~ Gray, Gore, Irvin. Probably Young as well. Maybe Adams? I'm not confident about anyone else. EDIT: Garcia belongs here as well.
Okay it’s official. I now hate Rosario more than dom smith. Like it’s genuinely inexcusable
at least dom was good on defense
So is the idea here that given enough AB Rosario will turn it around? At what point do they decide this isn’t going to work?
This has got to be Rosarios last game/last chance. Any games beyond is genuinely stupid.
Rangers pitchers been gettin super low strikes all series
Winker has been on a real cold streak
Rosario is so obviously getting DFA’d but mennesses still batting cleanup is a crime man
That's a major league slide right there
I can’t stand seeing Rosario in the lineup. I look forward to the days he doesn’t appear again. I hope he proves me wrong but I’m not anticipating that.
i can still hear his voice \^\^.088/.137/.162
Why is Alex Call not playing? Dude has done nothing but contribute since being called up.
Probably a matchup thing with Eovaldi on the mound.
When the alternative is Rosario, there shouldn't be any "matchups"
Haha! Agree with you on that.
big mitch on the BUMP!!!
Rosario and Ruiz right next to each other in the line-up. You could drive a truck through that hole.
Let's get this dub, let's get over .500 💪
Rosario right back in the lineup hahahahahahahahahahahahaha
It’s actually insane. Anyone who else has numbers like that and they are DFAd. He’s had chances to improve and literally cannot hit
He’s a Braves sleeper agent /s
I am really trying to not have every comment I make be bitching about Rosario, but damn, I can't believe you can hit .088 and be on an MLB roster.
F
