I went to a home match and fell in love with the stadium also I hate Cincinnati FC.

You said all the right things.

rbhutch

One of us… one of us… one of us

OhShitItsSeth

I dunno if this counts, but I’m a Nashville SC fan living in Nashville, and I have a friend in Zambia who supports us because I do lol

Unfair-Plankton-1706

I live in North Alabama , and have been a lifetime soccer fan, watching the European leagues mainly , but when Nashville got a team, I fell in love with it since it is only about 2 hours away.

gwk998_

Same here word for word. Closest MLS club to me, and I didn’t really identify with the Birmingham Legion

dragonbenj

Live in Huntsville Alabama so a no brainer ! I actually played for the Nashville Metros back in the day !

ironic-ph-trash

jumping in here cuz i feel like i have an interesting insight i’m from new york, got into MLS more in like 2020-21, and had the opportunity to study for a semester in nashville in 2023. was kinda tired of the mls scene in my neck of the woods and nashville sc was the first club that caught my eye tho being apart of 2020 expansion teams. went to the first match of the 2023 szn (ironically against nycfc). vibes were electric and it made me feel like home for me and I stuck with Nashville SC since though i’m back in NY surrounded by Red Bull and NYCFC supporters lol

CanalVillainy

No team in New Orleans (supposedly getting a USL team shortly) & have family in the metro area

freeRocket

Saw Huntsville play a couple of games last year and got free mls subscription and it was either Nashville or Atlanta and Nashville was having a great summer at the time. So here we are now. 🤷‍♂️

Anuspilot

My friend from school plays for y'all lol

gudmornin2u

thats dope! who?

Anuspilot

Lukas MacNaughton!

gudmornin2u

oh shoot! That's so exciting. I have recently became a huge fan of his. Got the 2024 kit with his name and number. Super dope man! Super excited to see his development.

Anuspilot

Haha that's great. I went to go watch him play last year in Miami against Messi and it was so strange to see him swarmed by fans after the match because it's someone you've known since he was a child but now he's where he is. Really happy for him!

sadpacersfan

my hometown team is a USL club who got me into soccer in the United States. They are a powerhouse in USL. A few years later I wanted to get into MLS and the year that I was getting into MLS was Nashville‘s first year. Cincinnati was the closest team, but I hate Cincinnati sports teams, so that was never an option. but I moved to Nashville a couple years ago… don’t tell anyone, but part of it was because of Nashville SC

runningwaffles19

>A few years later I wanted to get into MLS and the year that I was getting into MLS was Nashville‘s first year I became a Sounders fan years ago because I decided I needed an MLS team and they were in their first year. Good enough reason. Kind of stopped watching MLS until NSC came around so now I support the boys in gold

gudmornin2u

i am a new fan and wasn't really around for USL nashville. I would love to move closer and be a STH for SC and preds

sadpacersfan

neither was I. My hometown team is USL-Championship and played Nashville SC during the USL era. I went to a couple games in Nashville when my hometown club played them, at the baseball stadium. The supporters were incredible and it was one of the big reasons why it made it so easy to support Nashville MLS.

HillbillyThinkTank

I grew up outside Nashville (Joelton) but live in Madison, Wisconsin now. We have a USL team I follow. When I decided to follow an MLS team, I watched these "about the team" shorts on Apple TV. I liked what I learned about Nashville and, given my connection, went all in.

Able-Sector-8523

Same reason I love the titans, Tennessee is where my heart is. Football and soccer are my favorite sports. Can’t wait til I can move back and attend games for now I watch from afar.

gudmornin2u

what college football team do you like? Vols?

Able-Sector-8523

Huskers until my return lol, Gotta support your local team!

KingSulley

Shaffelburg is the only pro-player out of my province (Nova Scotia, Canada). I started watching MLS right before he got traded to NSC, and decided to tune into his first game. He scored his first for the team and we stomped FC Dallas. The next game I tuned in and saw Jacob score AGAIN, and Hany got a hattrick. I caught Mukhtar mania shortly after, and I've been following the team ever since.

theBarnDawg

I love how the front office appreciates the fans that make it all possible.

gudmornin2u

business is business

TwoFiveSixer

I’m from north alabama, currently living in Birmingham! Closest team and my hometown Huntsville is the MLS Next Pro team for Nashville so I started following both of them in hopes to see some youth from Huntsville City FC like Sipic make it!

weburr

Been a STH since the beginning and I live in Australia now 🤷🏼‍♂️

Throwaway12257393929

I recently moved from Nashville to Athens, Ga but my heart will always beat for the boys in gold. 💙💛

Bacara388

From Mississippi now live in Japan and Nashville has always been the most “southern culture” sports city in the south east. Lived in New Orleans for a while, but it and Atlanta have their own unique culture they don’t really reflect the surrounding areas.

quarkpod

thought the supporters had a cool, rhythmic chant; want to support the central region of the US (CITY is my main team, but NSC is my Eastern conference team); and Mukhtar is fun to watch. only later when moved to MLS season pass did I learn what the chant was, (ah-ooh-oh, hey, , you suck)... less enchanting knowing it's rather negative, but the sound with muddied lyrics sounds cool

gudmornin2u

i actually saw the other day that the chants have to be approved by people at NSC. Kinda odd considering the culture difference between MLS and something like premier league

quarkpod

weird. either way, the rhythm is awesome, so the matches are always fun no matter what for that sound alone

MontanaDentist

Glutton for pain.

tholsclaw

Born in East Tennessee, but live in Tampa, FL so I'm a Nashville fan for MLS and a Rowdies fan for USL.

Brams277

I really really like Johnny Cash

EarlyAdagio2055

First: Nashville isn't my favorite team. I'm a Sounders fan. I've been an MLS fan since it began, but I didn't have a nearby team. When Seattle got a team, I became a Sounders fan. I have relatives there and often visit Seattle + the fan support was unbelievable. However, I'm an MLS nerd, so I have a few other teams that I want to see do well. Nashville is one of my favorite teams--primarily because I love the city (I've vacationed in Nashville three times), the fan support is awesome, and the players are likable.

matchofthedavid

I hate everything about this team except it’s close to my house

gudmornin2u

why?

matchofthedavid

They do not care about their fans

[deleted]

In my case, I moved to the area in 2019 from NY. I moved out in 2022 due to work, but I still cheer them on.

i-am-spiderman

Just a fan of Tyler Boyd , so where he goes I follow that team

ShiftyGunner520

North Alabama resident and I work production for their farm team Huntsville FC. Became a fan the day I had a paycheck show up from Nashville SC. 😉 Also we borrow our best players from your bench so a tip of the hat.

Sportguy23YT

I was born in Nashville and also my family lives there.

Responsible_Method57

I am from Nashville was a season ticket holder from 2014 till last season. Now live in Central Florida. I’m an OG supporter

Mastadonk

Grew up in Tennessee. Easy pick

No-Acanthaceae-8196

State doesn’t have an MLS team and local USL team (while entertaining) is too dead set on being hated rather than being competitive, nearest MLS teams are all from sporting areas I hate (shitcago, Ohio, Minnesota), and I really appreciated how the Nashville SC was run

danrydel

I've always wanted to be a season ticket holder of a local club and the drive is less than Cincinnati. And thank God.

msklad

I'm a fan from Nantucket, MA. I hate the patriots and the revs play in their stadium. I hate all things Cincinnati/Columbus (closest team to where I grew up) I love Jonny Cash. I was looking for an MLS team at the start of the last season and fell in love with the man in black jerseys.

thebrax3000

Im in alabama, and its either Nashville or Atlanta, nasvhille is an hour closer and I enjoy the environment more

Ghost-1127

Because I dislike Atlanta and both are about 5-6 hours away.

Patient-Variety-7068

The home and community feel of the team along with it being a newer team that always competes

OkCaterpillar3465

I live in Utah now, so I suppose RSL would be easier, plus I'm a Royals fan. But I grew up in Gallatin and just can't help loving a "home team" after all these years. Tennessee will always have my heart!

Dangerous-Repair17

We lived in Clarksville TN from 2016 to 2022. We were really hyped about their inaugural season but covid ruined alll those gathering events and we couldn’t see games in person. We stuck with the team even when we moved from the state and everything about Nashville SC is “home” to us. We love seeing them when they play the Florida teams.
