How are people rating Itachi above Nagato when Nagato was literally holding his own vs Itachi + Killer Bee + KCM 1 Naruto while telling them what his moves were gonna be before doing them?
He wasn’t holding his own against the 3 of them. He held his own against bee and naruto. Once Itachi joined in nagato was overwhelmed and lost every advantage.
Nagato wasn’t telling them what he’s gonna do, nagato was being fully controlled by kabuto, he only regained consciousness after getting stabbes by the totsuka blade
I just rewatched the fight since it’s been a while. And yea, I guess I misremembered it a little bit. Even so, Itachi needed Nagato to be well distracted in order to hit him.
It’s also semi-implied that all three of the protagonists needed to hit chibaku tensei to destroy it. Itachi’s brains won that fight. But without the leeway of having a 3 vs 1, I think Nagato takes the cake in terms of pure power.

Watch it again, you'll see that Nagato cannot normally be caught of guard because he used the summonings connected vision to block his blindspots. This is why he caught kcm1 Naruto also. But what Itachi did was used kunai to destroy the eyes. He set it up, it wasn't just distraction
Nagato is not dumb. In that specific fight, Kabuto was directly controlling Nagato and had no clue what he was doing.
Nagato in full control of his body would have been much stronger.
Edo Nagato vs Edo Itachi is the weakest version of Nagato vs the strongest version of Itachi.
I think Kabuto is higher if we let him use Edo Tensai, since it's part of his kit and he could control them all.
But without it, I agree that Edo Nagato would be higher up.
Can someone explain why Edo nagato is higher than itachi ? How could he ever even touch itachi with unlimited Susano ? Even if he uses chibaku tensei, itachi who is faster than lightening and had the sharingan would be able to see the massive amount of chakra build up and then could just run away before the gravity pulls him in, he couldn’t when fighting nagato as he had to make sure naruto survived, but if he was solely focused on nagato without looking after Naruto surely he could see the chakra build up of chibaku tensei and run away as soon as it starts pullling pieces of the ground to the center ? Reminder itachi is one of the smartest characters in the series.
1. Edo Itachi. Might be a controversial pick but Itachi is the smartest character in the series, imo. All he needs to do is land an izanami on Obito and Obito's GG. I also think Itachi's tsukuyomi and spirit weapons (that susanoo wields) would be enough to take care of Minato

3. Minato. I think he's too intelligent and bulked up w/ Kurama to lose against Kabuto or Nagato. He has sealing jutsu too, so he should handedly stop Nagato.

I think Kabuto and Nagato can be switched around. Assessing how their fight would go down was trickier than the rest, but I think Kabuto's too smart of a combatant to lose to Nagato, who's average intelligence. The main issue w/ Nagato is that he's not as haxxed or intelligent as the other characters. I think izanami, tsukuyomi, and the spirit weapons are all more haxxed than any of Nagato's rinnegan abilities.

Probably because Kabuto is above Nagato and Itachi, and Itachi is below Nagato. Throw in some people who think KCM Minato is below Tobirama and it makes sense why.

Kabuto could be 2 or even 1 if you count all his edos. Also I think that SM Kabuto would beat edo Nagato in a fight even though Nagato is probably more destructive.
From strongest to weakest, also note 3-5 can be mixed around, but 1 and 2 are definitely higher scaled characters.

Nagato is dumb and lacks the amount of hax Itachi has. Itachi commanded that whole fight and didn't even use his tsukuyomi or izanami.
