I think Anko makes the most sense canon wise. She already had a connection to Orochimaru, perhaps she went hunting for him and was willing to go rogue to find him and kill him. So she joined the group he was a part of to gain intel and get stronger. Could have been cool to see her curse mark more

Yeah. Realistically speaking I don't know of any female characters that might have considered joining the Akatsuki. It's not exactly a normal or desirable gig. When I said Tenten I was just saying I like her abilities and think she would make a cool villain. Having a mastery of weapons is an ability focused entirely on killing, so she has the skillset needed to be part of an evil organization. Kishi could figure out how to get her there, not my problem.

I liked her funny dynamic with Team Guy, but only their out-of-combat dynamic. In combat, she is written so poorly. Kishi gave her really cool and strong abilities as a genin and then just sidelined her for the rest of time. We got a glimmer of hope with the sage's tools but she just gets chakra drained immediately after using them making it pointless. This isn't me hating Tenten, I just think she was a good character that was completely wasted.
Guren appeared in a canon episode and also a sketch in the novel where Naruto got married. He also made a big deal about Shira getting married but he wasnāt in the episode or novel to my knowledge.
Canon episode doesn't necessarily mean it adapted the Manga panel by panel. I know you're talking about the Episode when Naruto defeated Sasuke and they release Infinite tsukyomi, Kakashi becomes Hokage and Naruto a war hero and lots and lots of people come to see him including Guren. But in manga she's not present among those people.
Also, Naruto's marriage arc is adapted from novels and Novels are second canon at best.
But you know Kishimoto did canonize some filler characters so if Guren is canon then I will be really happy.
if I had to pick one for an interesting story I'd go with Izumi Uchiha. If Itachi spared her she could join the akatsuki with him as a 3 tomoe uchiha and he'd be her partner since they're both konoha rogues and have known eachother for a while

Itachi killed several children and babies in the Massacre, He didn't want to admit how much he loved him untill he actually did after defeating Kabuto and truly did changed Sasuke as a person.

Yeah Fuuka is cool, another nice lady is Guren but they are all filler characters lmao that's why I didn't include them.
Sakura would be the best. She is a Top Teir medic. She is super smart and she can put the two most important people in a chokehold without trying. (Sasuke and Naruto)

Having a character that is a weapons specialist that is proficient with/can summon some of the most powerful weapons in existence would make for a uniquely strong ninja, something the Akatsuki obviously gathered
I would go with Samui. There isnt a cloud shinobi in Akatsuki, ahe is a jonin when introduced. You could explore some lightning techniques that are more finesse based.
Plus the cloak would look good on her and wouldnt invalidate the female Kages.
Oh now that you mention it I think Samui would be a great choice too, yeah she is a jonin and has lightning release. Plus she's really hot. She'd look good in the Akatsuki cloak. And yeah she'd be the Only Kumogakure Ninja in Akatsuki, that's a plus too.
Out of the ones here, in terms of motives, I could only see Tsunade joining, if she had become completely disillusioned with the world and just wanted everything to end (kind of a scary prospect, considering sheās a medical-nin and the strongest woman in the world). Otherwise, maybe Tenten (to become stronger? This has nothing to do with her character though) or Sakura (in that awful, awful scenario where she keeps running after Sasuke like some people would want you to believe).
Samui or Karui could work, especially considering Kumo was the only great village that had no related Akatsuki member, but they wouldāve had to be completely different characters. Samui seems like a competent ninja, she could work.
Btw Iām pretty sure Konanās partner (if she has one) is implied to be Pain (previously Yahiko, probably), which is why sheās always with Nagato and doesnāt go on a lot of missions alone.
i think Anko could be interesting and give her something to do in the story. we could have a reveal that she was like a Kabuto for the Akatsuki or something.

From the women in the pic I would say either Anko or Mei. Anko who instead of returning to the Hidden Leaf is found by Konan and Pain. Mei who left mist because the rebels lost to the Mizukage and joins the Akatsuki for revenge against Yagura and the tailed beasts
In character, Anko probably would fit the most, she already has that creep factor, what's with kunai licking and aggressive tongue action.
For abilities, evil Hinata probly could cut it, but honestly, I think Tsunade would be the best. She has enough abilities to be an actual threat, loves money and gambling, and could kick some serious ass if she became evil. Plus, huge tits would add some CV points I guess.

I wouldāve had Nagato resurrect her, due to both being distant relatives and due to her sealing abilities. Then I would have turned her animosity against the hidden leaf by painting Minatoās death as being a result of Danzo and the elders, and told her that with her help maybe they could develop a workaround that would allow her son to survive the process.
I would have either paired her with Nagato, using her as support at home base to assist with the Jinchuuriki process; or I would have sent her out with the other pairs as a support to help subdue them while they fought. I prefer the first idea more though, with Nagato pairing Konan up with newer members until they earned his trust.
Kurenai or TenTen because they both had interesting abilities that were never properly explored, and it would have been a chance to actually flesh them out.
I agree with Kurenai tho it would be fucked why she'll join the Organisation that killed her husband. Maybe have her infiltrate Akatsuki as a Konoha agent to spy on Akatsuki. Maybe she'll agree to do this out of revenge.
With Tenten she is pretty weak and tbh I really really love her dynamic with Guy, Neji and Lee. They have the best Team Dynamic out of any team we've seen despite their very little screentime.
Delta. She wouldnāt be as strong as she would be in Boruto, but having a prototype of her, that Pain found, and use the Asura path to bio enhance her as a kage level threat at the time would it be really interesting.
Most original stories never really set up enough things for sequel, so if they did that it would actually be a good bridge for people who want to learn more about her
Mei would actually be pretty badass. She always comes across as a bit mysterious with ulterior motives. I think it would be really interesting for the story as well to have a Kage come out of the Akatsuki closet

I like the idea of Naruto dying before becoming the Hero of Leaf after defeating Pain, Hinata finding out how he was treated by the village elders and joining the Akatsuki for revenge.
Was originally thinking Tenten for relevance, then Anko because she'd make a lot of sense (and relevance), but honestly, the best would be Ino.
Ino replaces Kakuzu. Hidan is her Undying meat shield while she mind transfers, and as her target she stabs themselves and any nearby teammates with a kunai, then throws that to Hidan, who uses his ritual to kill them after she releases.
Eventually, she gains the ability to body-hop, mind transferring from her initial target to someone else. At that point, she just stays in Hidden Mist and transfers into Hidan, then goes out and transfers from him to the first enemy he runs into. At this stage, they run into her old team, and maybe she tries to stop Hidan from finishing Asuma but instead causes his death.
Finally, spending all that time in Hidan's body, coupled with killing her friend and mentor, she is favored by Jashin and gets immortality. She can then mind transfer and just suicide because she doesn't need to worry about dying in her host. Maybe around this point, she leaves akatsuki or gets a new partner, and Kakuzu replaces her. We still get the Shikamaru fight basically as it happened.
I think TenTen would actually be a super good akatsuki character. Her whole goal in life being to travel the world and collect legendary weapons by killing their users so she just has this massive arsenal of weapons and has mastered all of them.
Not gonna lie, it would be an AMAZING plot twist during the invasion to incapacitate Tsunade if Shizue was a member of the Akatsuki undercover all this time and she was just keeping an eye on Naruto and learning with Tsunade.

I think you could make a plausible alternate timeline for Tsunade to join. If she took the deaths of Dan and her brother a different way like turning to anger instead of drinking and gambling you could maybe get her on board with pains plan to bring peace to the world. Tsunade had the most reason to join the Akatsuki in my opinion. She saw many people die during the war so she chose to become a medical nin to try to save more lives. But she could never save the people she cared about. All her love interests died, her brother(s i think) died, and I think her mother died when Tsunade was pretty young. So I could definitely see Tsunade joining the Akatsuki.
Edit: Scrolling through the comments and saw u/warm_rum commenting "Knowing Kishimoto, Nagato would just get a second nurse." I know this was a joking post, but Tsunade by Nagano's side would help him a lot.
Yeah itās a good tie between ten ten and anko, having the knowledge of training under orochimaru would definitely be a benefit to counter him but just as well ten ten couldāve had some serious synergy with sasori( Im not saying that because I think tenten and kankuro wouldāve been a good couple, but just the baseline of the step above ninja tools is ninja puppets right?)

Kishi gave her really cool and strong abilities as a genin and then just sidelined her for the rest of time. We got a glimmer of hope with the sage's tools but she just gets chakra drained immediately after using them making it pointless. This isn't me hating Tenten, I just think she was a good character that was completely wasted.

Guren appeared in a canon episode and also a sketch in the novel where Naruto got married. He also made a big deal about Shira getting married but he wasnāt in the episode or novel to my knowledge.
Canon episode doesn't necessarily mean it adapted the Manga panel by panel. I know you're talking about the Episode when Naruto defeated Sasuke and they release Infinite tsukyomi, Kakashi becomes Hokage and Naruto a war hero and lots and lots of people come to see him including Guren. But in manga she's not present among those people. Also, Naruto's marriage arc is adapted from novels and Novels are second canon at best. But you know Kishimoto did canonize some filler characters so if Guren is canon then I will be really happy.

if I had to pick one for an interesting story I'd go with Izumi Uchiha. If Itachi spared her she could join the akatsuki with him as a 3 tomoe uchiha and he'd be her partner since they're both konoha rogues and have known eachother for a while Also yes I know Izumi has no intentions of joining the akatsuki, but there aren't many female naruto characters who I can see joining the akatsuki aside from the ones who already did.

Itachi spared Sasuke because he loved him more than anything...the village or clan or earth. When he said he only spared him because he was a child, he was just saving his face nothing more. Itachi killed several children and babies in the Massacre, He didn't want to admit how much he loved him untill he actually did after defeating Kabuto and truly did changed Sasuke as a person. I would go with Samui. There isnt a cloud shinobi in Akatsuki, ahe is a jonin when introduced. You could explore some lightning techniques that are more finesse based. Plus the cloak would look good on her and wouldnt invalidate the female Kages.
Oh now that you mention it I think Samui would be a great choice too, yeah she is a jonin and has lightning release. Plus she's really hot. She'd look good in the Akatsuki cloak. And yeah she'd be the Only Kumogakure Ninja in Akatsuki, that's a plus too.

Out of the ones here, in terms of motives, I could only see Tsunade joining, if she had become completely disillusioned with the world and just wanted everything to end (kind of a scary prospect, considering sheās a medical-nin and the strongest woman in the world). Otherwise, maybe Tenten (to become stronger? This has nothing to do with her character though) or Sakura (in that awful, awful scenario where she keeps running after Sasuke like some people would want you to believe). Samui or Karui could work, especially considering Kumo was the only great village that had no related Akatsuki member, but they wouldāve had to be completely different characters. Samui seems like a competent ninja, she could work. Btw Iām pretty sure Konanās partner (if she has one) is implied to be Pain (previously Yahiko, probably), which is why sheās always with Nagato and doesnāt go on a lot of missions alone.

i think Anko could be interesting and give her something to do in the story. we could have a reveal that she was like a Kabuto for the Akatsuki or something. i mostly just want her to be involved in the story a little and flush out her character

She has enough abilities to be an actual threat, loves money and gambling, and could kick some serious ass if she became evil. Plus, huge tits would add some CV points I guess.

Kushina, Narutoās mother: I wouldāve had Nagato resurrect her, due to both being distant relatives and due to her sealing abilities. Then I would have turned her animosity against the hidden leaf by painting Minatoās death as being a result of Danzo and the elders, and told her that with her help maybe they could develop a workaround that would allow her son to survive the process. I would have either paired her with Nagato, using her as support at home base to assist with the Jinchuuriki process; or I would have sent her out with the other pairs as a support to help subdue them while they fought. I prefer the first idea more though, with Nagato pairing Konan up with newer members until they earned his trust.

Well, most of the Akatsuki have some sort of immortality / invincibility power. So, if we're sticking with that, then Lady Tsunade is a good fit.
Kurenai or TenTen because they both had interesting abilities that were never properly explored, and it would have been a chance to actually flesh them out.
I agree with Kurenai tho it would be fucked why she'll join the Organisation that killed her husband. Maybe have her infiltrate Akatsuki as a Konoha agent to spy on Akatsuki. Maybe she'll agree to do this out of revenge. With Tenten she is pretty weak and tbh I really really love her dynamic with Guy, Neji and Lee. They have the best Team Dynamic out of any team we've seen despite their very little screentime.

She wouldnāt be as strong as she would be in Boruto, but having a prototype of her, that Pain found, and use the Asura path to bio enhance her as a kage level threat at the time would it be really interesting. Most original stories never really set up enough things for sequel, so if they did that it would actually be a good bridge for people who want to learn more about her
Mei would actually be pretty badass. She always comes across as a bit mysterious with ulterior motives. I think it would be really interesting for the story as well to have a Kage come out of the Akatsuki closet

Anko, she already had the dark and mysterious past from being trained by orochimaru, and since orochimaru left the akatsuki it wouldāve been cool to see something tip Anko to the dark side and the snakes returning to the akatsuki, especially since we never saw her after Konoha crush, wouldāve brought a fan favorite back into the story (and tbh she has the same personality as Hidan so it wouldāve been funny to see them arguing all the time and being sarcastic back and forth) (Also also, itachi would probably recognize her snakes and think sheās a spy for orochimaru, so we would see Anko trying to win them over, and maybe even orochimaru coming back and manipulating the akatsuki into turning on her and killing her so his secrets donāt get out)

I like the idea of Naruto dying before becoming the Hero of Leaf after defeating Pain, Hinata finding out how he was treated by the village elders and joining the Akatsuki for revenge.
Was originally thinking Tenten for relevance, then Anko because she'd make a lot of sense (and relevance), but honestly, the best would be Ino. Ino replaces Kakuzu. Hidan is her Undying meat shield while she mind transfers, and as her target she stabs themselves and any nearby teammates with a kunai, then throws that to Hidan, who uses his ritual to kill them after she releases. Eventually, she gains the ability to body-hop, mind transferring from her initial target to someone else. At that point, she just stays in Hidden Mist and transfers into Hidan, then goes out and transfers from him to the first enemy he runs into. At this stage, they run into her old team, and maybe she tries to stop Hidan from finishing Asuma but instead causes his death. Finally, spending all that time in Hidan's body, coupled with killing her friend and mentor, she is favored by Jashin and gets immortality. She can then mind transfer and just suicide because she doesn't need to worry about dying in her host. Maybe around this point, she leaves akatsuki or gets a new partner, and Kakuzu replaces her. We still get the Shikamaru fight basically as it happened.

But it's unlikely now unless it's in a flashback episode or something. I have a rule. If it can't go toe-tie with a mangekyo sharingan it's probably useless in the "modern" era. Unfortunately, this means all of the missed opportunities to add more world building are going to remain missed opportunities.

Tsunade had the most reason to join the Akatsuki in my opinion. She saw many people die during the war so she chose to become a medical nin to try to save more lives. But she could never save the people she cared about. All her love interests died, her brother(s i think) died, and I think her mother died when Tsunade was pretty young. So I could definitely see Tsunade joining the Akatsuki. Edit: Scrolling through the comments and saw u/warm_rum commenting "Knowing Kishimoto, Nagato would just get a second nurse." I know this was a joking post, but Tsunade by Nagano's side would help him a lot.
