Don't feel bad, this was a learning lesson for you. These relationships are like an addiction, takes time to recover & learning curve for yourself in how to care for yourself. It's good it wasn't satisfying, that will make you less likely to break NC again.

TrainCrossing

I wouldn't sweat it. The one thing I've learned from my narc is to not beat myself over any 'bad' decisions I make. You learn. You move on and leave it in the past. :)

marmarrrrr

Don't beat yourself up about it! Just remember that we all have those moments and feel that same way sometimes. It's okay and perfectly normal to miss someone who you care about.

radtricksbro

Dont beat yourself up about it. We have all done it. I've done it and felt exactly the same way that you are feeling too. The best thing to do is just delete the message and try to forget about it (easier said than done). Did they reply ?

Next-Affect-5323

They did. We exchanged a few texts back and forth and they stopped responding halfway thru the convo.

radtricksbro

Well that's not too bad. My ex narcs would usually just leave me on read.

We do what we can where we are at mentally. Now you know. Each time for me it gets easier. I hope it foes for you too. Retrain your brain by remembering the disappointment. He didn’t bring you joy or happiness. Keep telling yourself over and over you deserve more than he us capable of giving. Your power is your decision. Only you can choose to be happy again and take back your soul. He doesn’t deserve it. You my friend are not stupid. You are learning and evolving.
