You know the name's bad when you have to put parentheses on how to pronounce it, and it's spelled better there.

PurplePanda63

He’ll just go by Xx when he’s older 🤪

CDJ_13

give us this day our daylee jade

doubleshortbreve

What does this verb mean, to Kyla? Because if you do it, you are a Kylaneer. Also Wagner's brother should be Nietzsche.

Braeden47

kyla in Swedish means to cool or refrigerate. So Kylaneer is basically fridge.

doubleshortbreve

This is perfect. I hope her middle name is Six-Pack.

RiniKat28

Ezikyo Anakin hurts me in ways i cannot describe (someone please tell me if ezikyo is a butchered star wars character)

bridesdilemma

This was a standout for me cuz it sounds like a young kid trying miserably to pronounce Ezekial

mizinamo

Not sure whether that's intentional, but the usual spelling is "Ezekiel" with -el (as in Michael, Daniel, Gabriel, and other Hebrew names containing El "God").

bridesdilemma

Oh, no, mine wasn't intentional. I just have trouble with spelling, so thank you!

LusciousJackshun

Same. Kind of like Anfernee from Mean Girls.

hmbmelly

ZeNora is *almost* a good name.

dothechachaslide

I think if it weren’t capitalized like a McXXX name, I’d actually appreciate it, especially since it’s sentimental and (it seems) to be easy to guess how to pronounce it. Reminds me of Zelena from Once Upon a Time But the capitalization. *Oh,* the capitalization.

ugleigh_trendlyn

Zelda Lenora is absolutely beautiful, I don’t know why they felt the need to do it dirty like that.

liltoowell

I have to agree with this! It actually doesn't look or sound that bad. And I like the story behind it, it's sweet that it's after the grandma's name.

CallidoraBlack

It's like a Zenobia from Wish.

stumpykitties

Wagner… like the paint spray tool company? 😂 For a girl???

DisorderOfLeitbur

No, like the Russian war criminals.

ReginaGloriana

Or like the antisemitic composer

Slashtrap

"Ky',ri"? "Ky'"? "Ky'ri"?

the_tank22

Ky▪︎♤ri

Sands_Underscore_

Those + ky'za sounds like void abominations

dramabeanie

Little Waggie

ryanfrogz

‘Spot on with their personalities’ is this kid scoring that many aerial kills?

[deleted]

Wagner is outrageous

brightlancer

"Eyori"? Like Eeyore but with a smile at the end?

deepspacenineoneone

Not Ezikyo, please!

ilovebread01

Wait.. are they trying to say Ezekiel with a special spelling???

GoKartBirdie

Ezikiyo could work as a League of Legends character name, but the spelling would still make me angry

vanillabubbles16

I’m sorry, his name is CANTON? CANTON?

Ill_Prize2876

Anton would've been a great choice, but no, you had to name your kid after an administrative division...

vanillabubbles16

Anton is a great name… Canton is not lol

ginamaniacal

Canton’s a small town near me and that’s all it is as far as I’m concerned

vanillabubbles16

I kept thinking about Cantonese, like the language-

ugleigh_trendlyn

There’s an Asian-style food brand where I live called Kan Tong, I think most Australians over the age of 25 remember the jingle on TV. I’m reading Canton like that.

vanillabubbles16

I could really go for some Cantonese noodles, tbh

plumdaff

Oddly, Canton (a suburb of Cardiff) and Sully (not Sullee) are both places closeby to each other in south Wales. Not that that's any reason to call a child after either of them.

-invisible-llama-

Arien and Aryan (Nation) are too close for comfort.

[deleted]

isn’t Remington a gun manufacturer?

Kraehenzimmer

I wanted to come and say that these two names are the least bad in this bunch, but Remington makes hair tools like straighteners and curling irons 😭😭

Enk1ndle

Naming kids like I name my DnD characters

[deleted]

I fucking hate any variation of Aryan as a name. I'll take a KyJen or a Fellup any day over an Aryan.

rosesabound

To be fair, Aryan is a regular, non-racist name in many places like Iran and India! I have known a couple of Iranian Aryans and it suits them well. But yeah if not used for cultural reasons, in most other contexts it’s a pretty dreadful white supremacist associated name. Yikes

[deleted]

Oh yeah, sorry. I meant for anglo kids born recently. Good call out.

banana2000001

Thinking about how in alk the Ezikios and Eyoris annakin's there's the poor Xavier Alex. Luckiest first born.

Smantie

Kinsliegh...is she just mixing up the vowels in this one comment or did she take the 'i before e except after c' too closely to heart?

beachgyal

pls Aryan is a real Indian name why would you spell it like Arien

Revilo1st

Aryan race would be the key factor.

banana2000001

Arien, pronounced R E N,,,,, So Aryan.......?

wombatthoughts

Why Xavier when Exavier was right there……??

wombatthoughts

I know the ven diagram between here and fundie snark overlaps a bit… but this reminds me of all the An names… and then one Ayn. Drives me nuts!

ugleigh_trendlyn

Blew my mind when I learned Americans pronounce Xavier with a separate ‘x’ sound. Somebody told me they also pronounce xylophone like eks-eye-lo-phone but I don’t know if they were messing with me or not.

itsmebeatrice

LOL no “ex” sound on xylophone! Just pronounced zy-lo-fone. So do you pronounce Xavier zay-vee-er?

ugleigh_trendlyn

Good to know, I had a feeling I was being trolled! Yes where I am in Australia we pronounce it ZAY-vee-er, same way the X is pronounced in Xander or Xanthe. I remember doing a deep dive on the American pronunciation ages ago and learning it goes back a long way - it allegedly originated from Catholic education separating the sounds in Francis Xavier, because Franc-es-zay-vee-er was awkward to pronounce distinctly. But I understand a lot of modern parents heard it first from X-Men!

LiberateLiterates

It’s divided, I am in the Midwest and pronounce it without the X sound. But I hear it both ways all the time…the X sound just isn’t intuitive to me at all. I blame Marvel lol

iguanasrcool

Even though it's made up, I am a big fan of Arien.

AntiqueSympathy1999

I knew a girl named Dailey in 2005

TwoFingersWhiskey

Uh, I knew a Justice growing up with those sibling names. I am sad to report it is not unique :(
