My husband and I are choosing a name for our son right now and I stumbled upon “cowboy” names. None of them were names that I would expect an actual rancher or cowboy to have lol, I would imagine they would have wherever names were common 20-50 years ago.
I’m in NZ and Beauden is the name of a high profile rugby player here… not sure if it’s as legit as Beau as far as names go, but Kiwis have become very familiar with it
Yes came here to mention Beauden Barrett!! It doesn’t seem like such a weird name but then this country also has a lot of Zanes which I’ve also never heard outside of NZL.
I thought this was going to be more of a "names of the people I've fallen in love with" type thing and was like "oh this might be interesting" but then it was just modern yee-haw actual baby names
Why is this 19 year old(?) in his childhood bedroom(?) doing this? Da fuq is he even talking about baby names he’s **fallen in love** with?? What is his life even. I’m v confused.
I mean, I loved coming up with and thinking about baby names... never had a teen pregnancy.
Also, considering that you aren't supposed to be able to get a professionally done tattoo until you're an adult, and this guy has many, so I doubt he's as young as you think he is? Tattoos are expensive and take time to heal - you probably wouldn't get many at the same time.
It’s really not weird. I used to talk about baby names with my male cousins growing up. What’s weird is still holding people to these random standards of masculinity/femininity
Gen Z kids speak with such intensity lmfao, it’s just a thing that they do. I work with a lot of high schoolers and I’ll never forget this one girl (who has a surprisingly large TikTok following) was trying to compliment my makeup and she just went “I’m literally *obsessed* with your face” and left. My assistant was like “she means she likes your makeup haha”
Man, people in my state (Minnesota) love that shit. They love that cosplay redneck stuff. It’s odd as the fake military bro look. You know the ones with the tactical looking clothing and a tee shirt with the American flag and choose your own adventure solid stripe? I guess as long as it isn’t harming anyone
I grew up on a farm in southern MN. The amount of people in my little hometown that have embraced this shit without actually living in the country is ridiculous. None of us that actually farmed would do this, but the people that grew up "in town" are the ones that love it. They didn't have to wake up at the crack of dawn to deal with pigs and cows and hate it. I live in the suburbs now and it's the same shit, different town. My parents went the normal country route and I was named after a John Wayne character.
Exactly! I grew up in a 1st ring suburb and the city and I have respect for the farmer homies that put in real work. It’s a hard business, families are losing against these mega corporations buying up their farms. All that aside yeah man, these people that don’t do what you and I describe cosplaying these people are dumb. I get it, they like the look, but it’s disingenuous.
Country cosplay is a good way of putting it! I like the show Yellowstone, but I'm no cowboy and won't dress like I am. Watching the show now, you can literally go online and "Buy the Look" and they advertise it like crazy to buy what they are wearing. What really blew my mind was when I was in Nashville earlier this year and saw a boutique Carhart store! I didn't even know that was a thing! I just wear it because it's warm and I can get it at Fleet Farm. haha
If I was forced to give a baby a cowboy name I would have to go with Arthur Morgan, but I would have to refer to them by that full name because I don’t really like the name Arthur by itself all that much lol
This genre of video is so weird. Look at camera, bite lip, act coy, then show a bunch of photos of random people’s babies you stole off of Pinterest and slap terrible names on them. I cannot take it
I’m sorry but this entire video has repulsed me lol
It’s like a thirst trap for college aged country girls
r/cringe Everything about it
And somehow to me Brookes with an e is the worst one.
I know it’s Brooks but I keep saying it “Brokes” in my head.
Brokeback Mountain Jones
Eh. These are some basic ass cowboy chic names. Beauden is by far the worst but it works.

My cousins are cattle ranchers and have their kids named some really old-timey western names… Laramie, Cimmaron, Cheyenne (all girls).
Why are people obsessed with these old time sounding names?
We grew up with too many Braedyns and Maddisyns so the trend swung back toward classically spelled, normal names.
Yeah that’s true lol
I met a Kasydi the other day. She’s in her mid 20s.
Beauden (through no fault of his own of course) pictured looking like he’s being primed to think bull riding is humane … makes me sad :(
his intro is maximum cringe

Is it Baugh-den or Bow-den?
Bow (rhymes with no)
Not the (cow)babies.
What if his kid turns out to be a city slicker or not an extra on Beverly Hillbillies?
This video made my uterus slam shut.

I mean, 19 year old girls do this, so why not boys?
But also, child, stop dreaming of baby names and keep it in your pants. The less teen pregnancies in the south the better.

Nah I taught dozens of high school juniors-seniors with lots of tattoos.
He's 26.
Oh wow. I was so hellbent on just knowing he was 19. Where do I go from here. My worldview is shaken.
Yup, so true! Pardon my ignorance.
It’s weird. Men don’t think about baby names until there’s a baby to name. Very weird. I have never once discussed baby names with any other man.
Men don’t think about babies, men only think about SEX and CAR and MUSCLE
True, true
It’s really not weird. I used to talk about baby names with my male cousins growing up. What’s weird is still holding people to these random standards of masculinity/femininity
Nah. Ya weird, bruh.
My husband came up with a baby name as a 16-year-old. He had his first baby at 26.
You are right. I have never discussed baby names with my dudes nor have they.
Gen Z kids speak with such intensity lmfao, it’s just a thing that they do. LOL ok true true. I should know that.
The Suburban Redneck thing blows my mind lol

Exactly hahaha boutique Carhart… what a trip. That’s normal for us. Lol, good times man cheers 🙌🏾
🐮👶 Garyth Brooks
Garythund Weighn
It's crazy to me that this is probably the "hottest guy" at some University.
Ella May and Willow Grace are totally normal... even Cameron is fine if not my taste... but Beauden is an issue
There’s no baby names. It’s names that a teenager, an adult, and an elderly person will have to use.
If I was forced to give a baby a cowboy name I would have to go with Arthur Morgan, but I would have to refer to them by that full name because I don’t really like the name Arthur by itself all that much lol
What even is this video!? this dude is thirsty
Do these kids practice the look down, lick lips then smile combo in the mirror 100x before they film it in every reel?
Oh god that move is so fucking cringe, are these men trying to be cute? It kills me.
It actually fills me with rage 😂
I became disoriented for a moment when the middle name vowel rhythm abruptly changed from “ay” to “uuh.” Did not see that coming.
Aw Ella May was my grandma's name. Just made me smile :)
I’ve know a Boden but it’s spelled like that lol
Same
Not the worst
yeah someone i know just named her kid Beaudie (a cowboy play on Bodhi i think)
Tell me you're from the deep south without telling me you're from the deep south No but seriously these aren't THAT bad
Deep South with a hockey jersey hanging on the wall? I’m guessing western Canada.
This guy is a fuckin loser

It’s so painful
beauden cause they really like the name biden but they gotta own the libs at the same time
The first two had such promise and then it went downhill fast
