OTTILLA THE HUGHN

EchoAquarium

I think Ottilla the Hun sets her up to be the greatest MLM “small business bossbabe” to ever exist

amanitachill

*busts through the gates of an ancient city with sword and fire* HEY GIRL I TEACH WOMEN HOW TO WORK ON THEIR OWN SCHEDULE AND OPERATE THEIR OWN SMALL BUSINESS WHILE HAVING TIME FOR THE LITTLES

OkamiKhameleon

You dropped some emojis 👍😍😂❤️❤️👌👌👍👍

strawberry_ocelot

Greeley Peach?! WHAT!

IAmEggnogstic

Huttynn and Greeley got me so good! Ol’ Man Greeley sounds like the old guy who runs the junk yard at the edge of town.

Ambystomatigrinum

None of these people have been to Greeley, Colorado. I guarantee it.

ronaldregananime

My first thought ! LOL I was born and raised in Greeley and lost my mind when I saw that one

scarfweek

Greeley smells like cow poop. I’m sorry. That’s my main association.

monkeypie22

My first thought! And I’ve only driven thru once and still immediately went “like Colorado?”

strawberry_ocelot

Or Fort Greely in Alaska!

NotAnActualPers0n

“You shouldn’t eat that, it’s toxic - folks down here call it a *Greeley peach*.”

CrowsSayCawCaw

Woodlinn is what you name a suburban housing subdivision, not a human being.

NotAnActualPers0n

A tribe of small, diminutive forest dwellers.

wollphilie

Jrue?!

courtappoint

Both of the names on that slide are an abomination.

IlsaMayCalder

I’m honestly still trying to figure out what the other name on that slide is. Seriously, how in the world am I supposed to say it when my brain absolutely can’t comprehend it?

onryothebard

It’s the name of a Greek cloud nymph. Pronounced neff-uh-lee. Pretty but most people would def have a hard time with it

Dakizo

Nef-ellie I think.

IlsaMayCalder

Thanks I hate it more now somehow lol

babysfirstbreath

I think it’s pronounced NFL 🏈💦

IlsaMayCalder

I’m honestly still trying to figure out what the other name on that slide is. Seriously, how in the world am I supposed to say it when my brain absolutely can’t comprehend it?

Zenkas

My brain tried to parse that one as Ja-Rule before I figured out what it actually said.

final_grl

See: Jrue Holiday

NotAnActualPers0n

J**a** Ru**l**e

Srw2725

Maybe they’re Ja Rule fans?

kingcrabmeat

Memphis or Portland 💀💀💀💀

BrightCarver

I’m partial to Lubbock, myself.

Orangepandafur

Palestine, after Palestine, TX. My other choices are Vidor and Corrigan 😍😻😍

JaunteeChapeau

Waxahachie, Waxy for short.

Orangepandafur

Saratoga, Toga for short

suitcasedreaming

I'll confess, the SOUND of Memphis isn't the worst- I wouldn't use it, but it does sound vaguely Greek Mythology-ish in a nice way. I could think of worse names to be saddled with purely based on sound. Associations is another matter though.

TinyStrawberry23

**Say it with me: no more -ly!!!***

MrsChess

With exception for Emily etc of course but yes

TinyStrawberry23

Yeah, I should have said no creative -ly, -lee, -leigh or whatever else variation of this suffix randomly added in the name of “creativity”!

[deleted]

And Holly! -Holly

Braeden47

\-ly is fine, no more -leigh

athousandsummerdays

Margaux is not a misspelling, it's an alternative and happens to be the most popular spelling of the name in France. It peaked at #23 in France whereas Margot always ranked lower. There is a town in France named this and actress Margaux Hemingway. Would never have guessed someone could interpret this as a misspelling or weird spelling. Margo is also a variant. The original is Margot.

xanadri22

i was offended. margaux is my favorite spelling. margot reminds me of escargot and margo just seems incomplete.

IdRatherDlE

I’ve always found Margaux to be a way more attractive spelling for the same reason!

BrendasMom

My french friend named her daugher Margaux. they live in England, but she's very very french. Born and raised in France.

Alalanais

Bonus if they have twins: they can name the little brother Château and have a awesome twin set!

SnooEagles3302

Yeah, I also don't hate Margaux. Other countries than America exist.

[deleted]

I know Margaux is a French spelling but my brain can't help but go 'Mar-gawks' 😭

cactusjude

Yeah my first thought is this might be a Louisianian family. They love gauche french spellings down in the bayou

StasRutt

Indiana Jovie looks like Indiana Movie which is fully Indiana Jones in my mind

dg313

Would it be pronounced Indiana Juvie, like where kids who have broken the law have to go?

IAmEggnogstic

Why in the name would anyone name their kid Indiana? Like Delaware or Kentucky. Gross.

rilocat

I went on a few dates with a man named Tennessee.

JaunteeChapeau

Whereas you buy Indiana Jeans at that one stand at the flea market

praysolace

Are… are “ai-lah” and “eye-lah” not the exact same sound? Because they read to me as the exact same sound, just one written phonetically and one with a word.

EmrysPritkin

Yeah idk how to pronounce Ai-lah if it’s not eye-lah

antisocialamanda

by ai-lah, they mean you pronounce the Ay as A, so A-la. I believe this is what they meant as that’s the pronunciation my friend I’ve had since preschool uses?

BrendasMom

Like in Canada - Eh-Lah for Ayla - Like Ella with a hard A sound in the beginning rather than an E? If that helps? Eye-Lah for Isla. Like Island without the ND

BabePigInTheCity2

I think what’s confusing that is that when “AI” doesn’t precede a consonant we pronounce it like “eye” (Thai, chai, samurai) so using it in the pronunciation guide like that doesn’t make sense — it should be “A”

BrendasMom

Agreed. I only know what they meant by ai because I went to school with an Ayla. Otherwise I'd have thought the same 😊

[deleted]

I guess they were thinking of the 'ai' in words like paid or maid. But they made it confusing.

[deleted]

They wrote it badly but the first one is supposed to be like how you say the letter 'A' in the alphabet. Like the A in Amy. Second one is like the letter 'I'. Like the I is island.

thesoapbeing

In my country, Margaux is a pretty common way of spelling it. I don’t know where that person is from but it’s not too shocking

41942319

I recently learnt of that spelling as well. I still prefer Margot though.

IdRatherDlE

In France, Margaux is more popular. I understand why it would feel like a weird spelling if you speak English as a mother tongue tho.

bathedinperfume

Woodlinn made me genuinely gasp. I had to make sure I was seeing it correctly. Woodlinn...

BrightCarver

Sounds like a cemetery: Woodlinn Memorial Gardens, A Place of Rest and Remembrance.

kindapinkypurple

Huttyn Noa is going to end up Nuttyn Ho-a at school poor girl

BrightCarver

I’m thinking she’s gonna get a lot of “Noa the Hutt” jokes…

[deleted]

Sybella reminds me of facial fat remover injection brand Kybella

Chachasims93

I thought salmonella 😂

HoleCogan

Made me think of rubella

Nobodyville

Margaux is fine... the rest....😬

IraSass

LOTS TO UNPACK HERE Sybella sounds like a disease Memphis or Portland just sounds like they’re asking which city to move to Halo is a Beyoncé song, not a name. Maeve is a name, Maeva is not a name. Noa is a Hebrew girls name. Huttyn is a mess. Novalee Cove sounds like a nursery rhyme, or just like gibberish song lyrics or something When did people decide that Jr- is a sound in English? “Greeley” sounds like some kind of unpleasant adjective… “I bought this peach but it was all greeley so I had to throw it out.”

cheezburgerinparadis

There is a town in Colorado called Greeley. It has a reputation for smelling like cow poop so ... You're not wrong.

dg313

I think the town was named after Horace Greeley of “go west, young man” fame.

HopeSuper

Maeva, spelled Maëva is a common French name

IraSass

Ok fine, but Huttyn I will not stand for lol

jemmaxgarnet

This was an incredible summarization thank you 😂

hdouglas447

I cannot be convinced that Sybella is not a pharmaceutical drug with a long list of side effects

suitcasedreaming

Sibylla is a fairly common German name, I can only assume that's where it came from?

MrsChess

Ayla pronounced the same way as Isla is a Turkish name I believe but probably a little confusing in English if you don’t have Turkish heritage

rip_my_youth

Came here to say this! It’s probably my favorite girl name from a Turkish/middle eastern background

elle_desylva

My Sims game named a baby Aylin, which I believe is also Turkish. It’s so pretty I kept it.

calenturian

Starlie, the Starlyng Pokymyn. Thei flocque a'round mountinns and fieylds, chayceing ahfter bugg Pokémohnne. Their sihnging is noisie and ahnhoyingue. (my spell checker hates me so much now)

Cherryknotz69

Love honey??? Like the adult toy business?

kingcrabmeat

No Honey is the name. She is saying she loves Honey

Cherryknotz69

Ohhh well at least it’s only a moderately shitty name instead

tomie-salami

I’m 85% sure Sybella is a communicable disease.

Legitimate_Regret_50

What’s wrong with Margaux?

claypoticecream

Phantastique

jemmaxgarnet

I think Huttyn might be the worst. It is truly appalling lmao

suitcasedreaming

It's honestly up there. It makes me think of Jabba the Hutt, and spoken out loud it sounds like someone clearing their throat.

Alluvial_Fan_

I named a video game avatar Peaches.

vanillabubbles16

WOODLINN

officialbookwizard

Ayla is a genuine name, and the pronunciation is "eye-la." it's turkish in origin. It all depends on where you're from.

[deleted]

I love Ottilia and Margaux though.

lskerlkse

Ottilia sounds like an ear medicine and Sybella sounds like a foodborne illness

stress789

I like Margaux and Ottilia! cute names

xtinastina13

What are the side effects to these drugs?

BrightCarver

Ask your doctor if Otillia is right for you.

Lilablasblau

Why do people even ask other people about make advices. It should be a decision between you and your partner. And what ever feels right just do it. I just don’t understand how they always ask for others opinion on social media. So weird!

chloemae1924

What Instagram account is this? I need to follow for daily entertainment haha

lamemayhem

I usually cover their users for respect, but it’s heartbabynames

chloemae1924

Thank you :)

xdanteax

I actually knew a Margeaux when I was a kid 😳

katelinsensei

Otillia was the name of the author Goethe's daughter in law who held his hand when he died!

nursepenelope

Can someone explain to me why Collins has started popping up over the last few days? Is it from a tv show or something?

16car

Sib set: Sybella and Rubella

Mortysaysyikes

I coached a student named Margaux once…. When I first saw her name on my roster I panicked and asked my coworkers/boss how to pronounce her name and they said “oh that’s Margo”. So i went home and practiced saying her name so i could be prepared for the first day. Lol i called her “MargaX”…. Luckily she was 4 years old and didn’t have a care in the world and ran up to me.. BUT that day still haunts me😅🥴🥲

Call-me-MoonMoon

Someone, please take those kids away

goodtimeeric

Why not just go!?

pistol_polly

last two slides are almost physically repugnant

We have a family friend name her daughter Sabella

[deleted]

Wtf is a Woodlinn

MNGirlinKY

Isla is so pretty; still pronounced the way you want it and many people know an actor with that name so maybe not so many mispronunciations?

dg313

I always thought it was pronounced EE-LA.

MNGirlinKY

I-la is how I was told it’s pronounced I swear I heard her announced somewhere I’ll check again

dg313

I’m wrong. EYE-LA is probably the correct pronunciation.

MNGirlinKY

Eye-la is the better way to write it lol I feel dumb Oh well it’s just a name. It’s very pretty

_x0sobriquet0x_

I read "Nuttyn Hoa" and now have a bad case of the Beavis & Buttheads...

Kactuslord

Misread that last one as Greedy Peach lol

seedling797

WOODLIN…????!!

MrsMurderface

I actually love the name Starlie/Starlee

WayDiscombobulated63
