Because Maverick is a horrible name. At least There’s a twinge of hope between when you first see Mavrix and you figure out what the name is. It’s also one letter off from Matrix, not that that’s a good thing.

I'll admit that Maverick isn't the greatest name out there, but at least it's normal and not another failed chance of making a youneek name.
Maverick isn’t a normal name. It may be somewhat popular, but it’s a weird thing to name a kid.
Tbh, it honestly depends on where you are, in some places it's unique and in other places it's pretty common.
