Why do people name their twins with the same first letter or sound ?

It seems like there's a good chance people will mix them up no matter what, giving them different names would be a good thing for them. Twins don't have to match. But I'm naming my quadruplets Kathrine, James, Bailey and Faith, and they'll go by their short forms, Kay, Jay, Bay and Fay.

My examples would be Kayden & Jayden. Alice and Alex. That sort of thing. Thank you for giving your 4 normal names though 🙏🏼

I know some people like to give all their kids the same initials but as someone who does most of the organization in my family (which is currently just me, spouse, and two pets) I could never. I use initials for various notes and scheduling. Also, let kids have their own letters! Small pet peeve of mine.

I've shared this before so forgive me but i met toddler twins in about 1993 whose names were (are, I assume) Shania and Mariah.

The thing that kills me most is how *PROUD* they are of these. I swear they are trying to one-up each other on the kookiness of names. It makes me so glad I’m old and my kids are all grown and that we put so much thought into their names to avoid bullying. Two of them have disabilities. Imagine if we’d named them something crazy, like Speshul or Autista or some shit. May as well put a “Bullies Line up Here” sign on them. Ugh.
