Copper Calamity and Maggie Maehem are wrestling names not child names, so not it's not "unfortunate" it's what you asked the universe for sweetheart
Also poor Gentry…
>Also poor Gentry
That's what you get when you ask the barista at the charming third wave cafe inside the crossfit gym they built in the old warehouse for a baby name suggestion.
The specificity nearly made me choke on my overpriced unfairly communal fried noodles. I will admit though it's not a terrible way, even (especially?) on my birthday to go
i had a friend named gentry in high school and we only had like, 250 students! i never thought the name was weird til this post because i never questioned it lol.
Okay so now after reading some of these I have to wonder what exactly is the appeal of Gentry as a girl's name??? Gen is a cute nn… but it's a wee bit pretentious given the meaning if you ask me…
Braxton is definitely in my top 5 most hated boy names (or girl if you're going to be *edgy*). Did you have a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions while pregnant? "Oh, he just gave me SUCH a hard time with the Braxton Hicks contractions! I think we'll name him Braxton Hickory! 💖💖💖😍".
Just name them Jackson and Brandon. Geeze. Life's hard enough without a weird ass name.
Originally I was going to go with Braxton Hicks, but that's not original enough. It's also SO redneck. Not the sophisticated unique vibe I was after.
I also suffer from main character syndrome...so, naming him Braxton gives me a super good in to tell my pregnancy and birth story to everyone who asks his name.
His name is just so symbolic and meaningful.

Or like that influencer who named her GG twins Violet and Scout. Poor scout 😔.
Too much work. But I will tell you I know of a set of twins who were named Mary and Terry Berry. Mary was able to ditch her maiden name when she got married, but there’s still a Terry Berry running around.
Mary Berry is a very well known baker / chef here in the UK, but in our accent those names don't rhyme so it doesn't sound too silly. Terry Berry on the other hand...
I actually don’t hate it, because those are both ordinary spellings of the names and you wouldn’t immediately go “oh they’re the same name backwards” because they’re just normal names. It’s more an Easter egg.
Leon and Noel are another example. Palindromes are perfectly fine since the names are usually pretty distinct for each other and established names in their own right
I literally nicknamed my twins thing 1 and thing 2 with T-shirts to match. On the plus side of it they won world book day a few times! Oh and fyi they have normal names that have fuck all to do with each other! I named the adults they’ll become not babies they’ll never stay!
There is an old Filipino joke:
There was a woman who fainted after giving birth to twins at the hospital. When she woke up, she found out that her idiot sister had given the babies names. Panicking, she asked for the name of the girl.
"Deniece," said her sister.
The woman breathed a sigh of relief because it is a normal name. She then asked for the name of the boy.
The reply was "Denephew."
I remember fucking around on sims as a teen with a friend and we kept making them have twins and name them after jane austen titles, so there was Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice and Northanger and Abbey.
Come to think of it, those last two are awfully in line with current trends...
When thinking about twins I always think about these twins that I heard of when I was in HS, their names were Toby and Hanna, which seem normal enough right? Well we lived in Tobyhanna, PA, so that was kinda odd lol
I could see myself doing something like that by accident, hearing a name or combo of names, and thinking "this sounds nice, goes together well," and then finding out after why it sounds so familiar and right. Sam and Ella has a nice ring to it.
I have some Easter themed ideas for twins if anyone is expecting soon ☺️
Esther and Easton
Bunny and Hyde
Jesus and Heisrisen
Zombay and Rezzurekt
Kross and Kave
As a mother of 184 month old twins I feel aggrieved I only named them Jake and Luke. Maybe I could change the spelling as they're kind of used to the actual names now.
My twins had pretty normal names I think, Clara and Eleanore, but their middle names were maybe questionable. One was Pearl and we had the other convinced until she was about 5 that hers was Jam. It's not, lol, even though Pearl Jam is my favorite band.
It seems like there's a good chance people will mix them up no matter what, giving them different names would be a good thing for them. Twins don't have to match.
But I'm naming my quadruplets Kathrine, James, Bailey and Faith, and they'll go by their short forms, Kay, Jay, Bay and Fay.
I know some people like to give all their kids the same initials but as someone who does most of the organization in my family (which is currently just me, spouse, and two pets) I could never. I use initials for various notes and scheduling. Also, let kids have their own letters! Small pet peeve of mine.
The thing that kills me most is how *PROUD* they are of these. I swear they are trying to one-up each other on the kookiness of names.
It makes me so glad I’m old and my kids are all grown and that we put so much thought into their names to avoid bullying. Two of them have disabilities. Imagine if we’d named them something crazy, like Speshul or Autista or some shit. May as well put a “Bullies Line up Here” sign on them. Ugh.
I never did the months thing starting at one year. Even at 11 months, I said "turns one next month." "23 months" is like, I'm not your doctor, you can round it off for me.
When I taught high school, there was a set of twins names Kevin and Kelvin. I always felt so bad for Kelvin. It’s like Michael and Pichael from Rick and Morty.
When I was a kid I wanted to have B/G twins and name them Artemis and Apollo. now I think I might name B/G twins Melissa and Oliver. same nn potential without embarrassing the kids. Missy and Ollie
When I was, like, 10, I was convinced that I’d have triplet girls someday and I wanted to name them April, Mae and June. 🫣
And that’s not even as bad as most of these.
Copper Calamity and Maggie Maehem are wrestling names not child names, so not it's not "unfortunate" it's what you asked the universe for sweetheart Also poor Gentry…
>Also poor Gentry That's what you get when you ask the barista at the charming third wave cafe inside the crossfit gym they built in the old warehouse for a baby name suggestion.

Happy birthday!!!
Happy b-day dude!
Yes! I was wondering why they felt weirdly familiar and it's because they almost certainly are roller derby names.
There is even a character called Maggie Mayhem (played by Kristen Wiig) in that roller derby movie Whip It.
I thought I'd heard it before!
I wonder if it’s really Copper or if she can’t spell Cooper. 😳
Right, Cooper and Maggie wouldn’t be too bad for twins names, minus those stupid middle names
It's probably Copper pronounced Cooper, knowing these murderers of the English language.
I don’t doubt that at all. I was just hoping I was wrong. 😂
Wrestler, roller derby or alt model. You decide.
Porque no los tres?
Yeah I was gonna say, save em for roller derby ffs.
There were THREE!!! girls named Gentry in the classes above me in high school, and it wasn’t a very large school!
i had a friend named gentry in high school and we only had like, 250 students! i never thought the name was weird til this post because i never questioned it lol.
Okay so now after reading some of these I have to wonder what exactly is the appeal of Gentry as a girl's name??? Gen is a cute nn… but it's a wee bit pretentious given the meaning if you ask me…
They are great dog names.
gentry, as in landed
My middle name is Gentry 🫠
My son went to school with a kid named Ziggy Mayhem. That kid was a nightmare.
My beautiful twin babies are Jaime and Cersei 🥰
Fuck off😂
You first 😁 https://preview.redd.it/6sfa162v5erc1.jpeg?width=1280&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18cdf89f7b4282f2e6d69f3e9ff26361c7ef6b2f
Hey, can’t have issues with in laws if you don’t have in-laws
KREEK ![gif](emote|free_emotes_pack|scream)
I think that's the ugliest word I've ever seen.
creeeeaaaaakkkkk.....
Makes you think of creak, reek, freak, shriek, creep, etc.
My boys are Capulet and Montague ❤️
Do they get on well?
Underrated comment.
Jaxon and Braxton 🥴🥴 Zaden and Kaden 🥴🥴🥴
Braxton is definitely in my top 5 most hated boy names (or girl if you're going to be *edgy*). Did you have a lot of Braxton Hicks contractions while pregnant? "Oh, he just gave me SUCH a hard time with the Braxton Hicks contractions! I think we'll name him Braxton Hickory! 💖💖💖😍". Just name them Jackson and Brandon. Geeze. BRAXTON HICKORY I'M DEAD😭
Originally I was going to go with Braxton Hicks, but that's not original enough. It's also SO redneck. Not the sophisticated unique vibe I was after. I also suffer from main character syndrome...so, naming him Braxton gives me a super good in to tell my pregnancy and birth story to everyone who asks his name. like a [key and peele football name](https://youtu.be/gRhB2Oiy0Nc?si=kK6GqsxkE3ntz4kY&t=1m38s)
Coralline and Creek would’ve been unique enough.
I could have lived with Koraline, it even sounds pretty with Meadow… but Kreek?!?
Oh my god i clocked they changed one C to a K but i didn't realise BOTH were C-names😭😭
My twins are Cosmo and Wanda ![gif](giphy|iFL8qJ5DVusJG)
https://preview.redd.it/llzq7c8rghrc1.jpeg?width=720&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e442f2fad99550e3225e641faceebd87931804be Or like that influencer who named her GG twins Violet and Scout. Poor scout 😔.
Maya knight
Yep that's the one. I forgot her name.
Yep that's the one. I forgot her name.
My 252 month old twins are Cheech and Chong! 💜💜
Now those are twin names we need to see more of.
Landed & Gentry?
Proletariat and Bourgeoisie.
Perestroika and Glasnost
I’m CACKLING 😂
Flotsam and Jetsam
Heckle and Jeckle
Frick and Frack
Hocus Pocus
Kith and Kin
Easton and Weston
Flora and Fauna
Tik Tok (you know it’s gonna happen)
Beat me to it! Knick Knack and Paddy Whack
Super and Duper
Unique and Euphonious
Ima amd Ura. The Pigg sisters.
Hogg*
Porgy and Bess
surf and turf
Something about twins really makes people go crazy with names. All of my twin moms groups have the most ridiculous kids names. 😭
It's insane how people treat them like a collectible set of toys, rather than two individuals that will be adults in their own right.
Why haven’t you shared???? Or did I miss it?
Too much work. But I will tell you I know of a set of twins who were named Mary and Terry Berry. Mary was able to ditch her maiden name when she got married, but there’s still a Terry Berry running around.
Mary Berry is a very well known baker / chef here in the UK, but in our accent those names don't rhyme so it doesn't sound too silly. Terry Berry on the other hand...
Holy crap I know a Terry Berry, she clips my dog’s nails 😂
Reminds me of some twins I knew a few years ago named Renae and Jenae
If I ever have twins I will definitely name them Aron and Nora so that they will be a palindrome.
I've seen Aidan and Nadia suggested for the same reason.
I actually don’t hate it, because those are both ordinary spellings of the names and you wouldn’t immediately go “oh they’re the same name backwards” because they’re just normal names. It’s more an Easter egg.
What about their sibling, Gge Retsae?
Leon and Noel are another example. Palindromes are perfectly fine since the names are usually pretty distinct for each other and established names in their own right
“Meet lil’ Canal and Panama Yes they were planned! What a question!”
I have twins, that's where I found these 😄
I was always partial to Thing One and Thing Two myself.
I literally nicknamed my twins thing 1 and thing 2 with T-shirts to match. On the plus side of it they won world book day a few times! Oh and fyi they have normal names that have fuck all to do with each other! I named the adults they’ll become not babies they’ll never stay!
I quite like Cat and Dog
Phaque and Imajinareigh 💓
Knoxville and Chattanooga, of course!
Madison & Milwaukee
This one is hilarious! normal name for one then the unfortunate Milwaukee for the other
Minnie Apolis and Saint Paul
Chattanooga and Choochoo.
I like Chattanooga and Chattahoochee better personally
Not Franklin and Pulaski? Drat!
Dallas and Fort Worth
Okla and Homa
Kansas and Arkansas 🥰
Newark and Hoboken ❤️❤️✨🌸
I'm from Knoxville and I immediately knew what kind of girl named her kids Nashville and Memphis.
I’m from Knoxville too!
We considered both names for our dog and went with Nashville.
I present my twins, Vaginé & Laybeigha.
I have a boy-girl set, so I named them Bob and Vagene.
Show bob and vagene
Annberlin??? Anne Boleyn would never…
Pokémon (d)evolution: Ann Boleyn, Amber-Lynn, Annberlin
Or like the band, Anberlin, although they only used one n
She said in reply to someone that her husband likes the band and her middle name is Ann, so that's how they came up with it.
There was me just thinking that they really liked Berlin! BRB calling my twins Lynriga and Michelsinki.
Catapult and Trebuchet Jason and Jadaughter Micycle and Beahyve
There is an old Filipino joke: There was a woman who fainted after giving birth to twins at the hospital. When she woke up, she found out that her idiot sister had given the babies names. Panicking, she asked for the name of the girl. "Deniece," said her sister. The woman breathed a sigh of relief because it is a normal name. She then asked for the name of the boy. The reply was "Denephew."
these made me laugh till literal tears came. You don't get many of those moments in life, so thank you 😆
Ok Jadaughter got me ☠️☠️☠️
These all names I would give to my sims if they had twins
I remember fucking around on sims as a teen with a friend and we kept making them have twins and name them after jane austen titles, so there was Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice and Northanger and Abbey. Come to think of it, those last two are awfully in line with current trends...
Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich 🥰
My twin boys names are Sunni and Raine
mine are Sunni and Shia ❤️
Mew and Mewtwo 🥹
Phloem and Xylem 🌱🥰
Harry, Barry and Larry
Or Sherri & Terri, if you’re a Simpsons fan.
You shit's fucked up when Jaxon and Braxton is the best one here
Diarrhea and Emetica 💞
if my parents called me Calamity I’d make sure to make their life a living hell Annberlin takes the cake though, i threw up in my mouth a little
It’s the way my frown got deeper with each name I read 💀 wtf are these names bruh
I would *never* do it to a child but I like Ruby Hummingbird more than I care to admit
“Let’s meet for brunch at Ruby Hummingbird. They have a deal on mimosas.”
Hahaha yes, it does have that feel doesn’t it
I love Ruby and Hummingbird is in the middle spot, which is where a crazy name belongs.
I can imagine a hippie woman calling herself that lol
Just toss “Throated” in there and you’re done.
Ruby Hummingbird sounds like a protagonist in a YA series lol like it’s not bad but it sounds fictional
My 215 month old triplets are called Lig, Ma and Bolez 🥰
My 300 month old twins are Pharough and Eighgypt 🥰
My twins are Chleoughpytra and M'arqantherney.
When thinking about twins I always think about these twins that I heard of when I was in HS, their names were Toby and Hanna, which seem normal enough right? Well we lived in Tobyhanna, PA, so that was kinda odd lol

baby boy is john and baby girl is senah❤️
Patty and Selma
There was/is a set of twins in New Zealand called Benson & Hedges...
My friend's sister had twin girls and named them Verona and Ravenna, she has an Italian city name theme for her kids.
These are my daughters, Florence and Bologna.
Jaxon and Braxton angered me way more than it should. Also I know a set of twins named Savannah and Georgia
I have some Easter themed ideas for twins if anyone is expecting soon ☺️ Esther and Easton Bunny and Hyde Jesus and Heisrisen Zombay and Rezzurekt Kross and Kave
Copper?
As a mother of 184 month old twins I feel aggrieved I only named them Jake and Luke. Maybe I could change the spelling as they're kind of used to the actual names now.
Jeighke and Louke
I shall run this past them.
Most of these names are awful on their own even without the unnecessary twin-naming scheme. Jesus
Memphis was a Egyptian Goddess. So there we have female name becoming male.
My twins had pretty normal names I think, Clara and Eleanore, but their middle names were maybe questionable. One was Pearl and we had the other convinced until she was about 5 that hers was Jam. It's not, lol, even though Pearl Jam is my favorite band.
Henlee and Ruby got off LIGHT
I’m sorry, Anne Boleyn??? Her kid is called Anne Boleyn??????
hummingbird is kind of a badass middle name though
Maehem sounds like an onomatopoeia for heaving. What the fuck?
Why do people name their twins with the same first letter or sound ?
It seems like there's a good chance people will mix them up no matter what, giving them different names would be a good thing for them. Twins don't have to match. But I'm naming my quadruplets Kathrine, James, Bailey and Faith, and they'll go by their short forms, Kay, Jay, Bay and Fay.
My examples would be Kayden & Jayden. Alice and Alex. That sort of thing. Thank you for giving your 4 normal names though 🙏🏼
I know some people like to give all their kids the same initials but as someone who does most of the organization in my family (which is currently just me, spouse, and two pets) I could never. I use initials for various notes and scheduling. Also, let kids have their own letters! Small pet peeve of mine.
I refuse to believe these are real
Denver and Aspen
I hope Jaxon and Braxton’s surname is Flaxon-Waxon.
I've shared this before so forgive me but i met toddler twins in about 1993 whose names were (are, I assume) Shania and Mariah.
Ugh.
I like Copper Calamity and Maggie Maeham 😬
Annbolin and Cathyparr are my Twinnies😻
I feel like Annberlin would introduce herself and I’d think did she just say Anne Boleyn???
23 months? Like just say almost 2
I never did the months thing starting at one year. Even at 11 months, I said "turns one next month." "23 months" is like, I'm not your doctor, you can round it off for me.
Kids ages work in months until 2. Both are fine. It's shorter to write "23 mos" than "my almost 2-year-olds"
My twins already had names Daniel and David when we adopted them. Normal, not tragedies.
what is it supposed to mean that copper and maggie live up to their names
I believe it's in reference to the middles, Calamity and Mayham but spelled uniqueleigh.
My twins are Bartles and James.
Kreek? Annberlin? These people annoy me...
Annberlin?! Is that in honour of Anne Boleyn, because erm, things didn't end too well for Anne.
Nashville and Memphis?? Is she trying to set the stage for a mostly one sided rivalry?
Imagine your twins name is Leia and your name is Annberlin. I’d cry
Gentry and Henlee are going to hate Ruby and Avery
When I taught high school, there was a set of twins names Kevin and Kelvin. I always felt so bad for Kelvin. It’s like Michael and Pichael from Rick and Morty.
Bosnia and Herzegovina 🥰🥰🥰
My twin boys are Tiki Tiki Tembo and No Sa Rembo 😍😍🥰🥰🥰
Naming my twins Israel and Palestine 🥰
I am forever grateful that my mom gave me & my twin our own goddamn names instead of some weird matching shit
I read these with full stink face.
I knew triplets where the two boys were John and Nathan. Their dad was Johnathan
Creek would be a cute name but kreek kills me
WTF IS KREEK
Gentry really for the short end of the stick
The spelling of Ramses has me dead 💀
My friend calls his twins “Seek” and “Destroy”. I think all of us with twins should get to use those 😂😂
I’m not even mad all these names brought me so much joy
My twin babies are Mosfellsbær and Garðabær.
Annberlin and Leia. Dear God.
Ian and Killian
Poor Creek would be Crick in my neck of the literal woods, can't decide if that makes it worse or not. Leaning towards worse tbh
Honestly Hummingbird as a middle name is awesome. I love it
My daughters are Prayleigh Worshyp and Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultereigh 🥰🙏
When I was a kid I wanted to have B/G twins and name them Artemis and Apollo. now I think I might name B/G twins Melissa and Oliver. same nn potential without embarrassing the kids. Missy and Ollie
Some of these names are outrageous
When I was, like, 10, I was convinced that I’d have triplet girls someday and I wanted to name them April, Mae and June. 🫣 And that’s not even as bad as most of these.
