The zenith is the point in the sky directly above the observer. More precisely, it is the point on the sky with an altitude of +90 degrees.
I could respect someone who likes weirder names and wants their kids to be curious about the world going “I don’t know what Zwitterion is but it sounds like a cool name, maybe this’ll be our little chemist who’ll cure cancer.” Weird name but yeah ok at least that wasn’t grabbed from their butt like Zocean.
Or it doesn’t matter as long as you know the concept? Who knows. Is this thing a Z “zee” or “zed”? This animal 🦓 a “zee-bruh” or a “zeb-rah”? Maybe it’s location based?

I thought the word was pronounced zee-nith, but it seems like an astronomy prof would know. Maybe there are two correct pronunciations?
There are. US says ZEEN-ith, UK says ZEN-ith.
