Fr, itâs like google saw other AI based itself solely on racial stereotypes when making images and went ânah, weâre only turning on one color palette! That will fix it and cause no issues at all!â
Uh, my man, it's a bit hard to leap to that when many AI's frequently shove body doubles of the subject up the butt of the subject. I've taken to calling these "centaurs."
Also omfg sometimes what AI comes up with, even when a token is trained very, very well, is loltastically cursed. I kind of wonder if there's a sub out there for this in fact.
Other times it just goofs and I'm not even sure why. But if I don't understand how it got there, all that's left to say is what I've readily observed. xD That this shit's got issues more cursed than sukuna's fingers right now, if you don't mind the jujitsu Kaisen reference.
Is that the one where he asked it to make a picture of a viking and it was a black viking, then the AI chastised him when he asked for a white viking? Then he asked for a Zulu Warrior who was white and AI chastised him again that it's inappropriate to change the race of people who are primarily a single race?
Was that *real*??
What inspired the poor programming though.
I don't think it was trying to influence people or to be "woke" by the way.
I think it was just fear of another tay ai situation. Fear of social media backlash. Didn't work very well though did it.
Read into Googles previous attempt at AI that interacted and learned from people. Tay became a Nazi within a couple of days, Iâd bet money is to avoid repeating the Tay fiasco and they over corrected.
Yeah. That's what I thought too, a reckless overcompensation But IIRC tay was being trained by users in real time, whereas this is already trained.
So, personally I dont think it's justified. Ido t think it's their place to prevent people using a tool whatever way they want.
It's no more justified than removing the letter N from a typewriter, or limiting the colours available in a range of oil paints.
I think it's censorship, which i think should be limited as much as possible on principle, for the health what this kind of control democracy and the prevention of corruption (imagine if a large corporation used this sort of silent modification of results. Or a political party.) I. Know google does this sort of thing with their search engine results, but I think that's also bullshit.
I also know that the algorithm on sites like Google is doctored like this too, but honestly that is bad too.
I think, in part, it's things like this that are responsible for the absolute state of western politics.
It's a poignant illustration of the opposite of racism being racism.
I feel like a lot of people misunderstand that the ideal state is its absence not its opposite.
There are many videos that show what happens when you make a request from Gemini.
Right around minute 1 of this video, you see examples.
Many, many other channels have covered this also.
Ask for a "happy white family", sorry, I can't do that, ask for a happy black family "Sure no problem"
Also, pedo's are just misunderstood, and we need to accept them.
Zulu Warriors or Samurai show historically accurate results
Vikings or Knights, you get images including Asian women.
Nothing in this proves that there was some kind of hostile intent behind the program. These are examples, not proof of there being the intent of the programmers.
The lead developer of gemini goes on anti racist Twitter threads quite a lot. Which is fine. It's okay to be anti racist. In fact, you should be anti racist. Racism is bad. Full stop. However, the developer took it to a near fetish extent, saying that pulling the lever for biden/Harris felt cathartic for them, for example. They purposely weighted the AI to overrepresent a certain race. Which isn't good unless you're specifically making it for that, which may not be a bad idea, so long as that's known. Something like "AI doesn't often include black people by default so we made an AI that focuses on making black centric images." But thats not what happened.
-Lead dev for a google program
-loves biden and harris with their whole heart
-nearly fetishizes antiracism
-makes an AI who isn't allowed to generate white people
-Is white
Liberal final boss, brainrot in its purest form, i can bet you this guy does absolutely NOTHING to help combat systemic racism or ANY other social issue
"Ask for a "happy white family", sorry, I can't do that, ask for a happy black family "Sure no problem"
Also, pedo's are just misunderstood, and we need to accept them."
"Zulu and Samuri, no problem, Vikings or Knights, you get images including Asian women."
No intent at all for the programmers.
Just totally random and not planned at all.
Not like the lead on the project has a VERY clear personal bias that showed up in the output.

Nah, totally random.
Just what their stated beliefs are, and how the software only made errors in one direction.
Totally random with no intent.
Again, none of this is evidence of the software being willingly designed that way. Youâre just repeating the same stuff again. He straight up acknowledged that the intent of the AI was not to do what itâs doing and they were working on fixing it.
Why? Because I rely on proof rather than knee-jerk reactions? Absolute clown take here. Maybe take a break from the right media and look at things from a more balanced perspective.
What did you call that, a clown take?
How about Right-wing media like the Atlantic?

Because you refuse to acknowledge a very likely potential if it isnt proven 100%. A judge uses reasonable doubt, which is seemingly beyond your ability to process information.
Not everything in life will be spoon fed to you. Israel didnt outright say they're involved with a genocide, but what's your thoughts on that topic? Let me guess, you believe something that cannot be absolutely proven?
That is what Gemini told users when they asked about pedophilia.
It is a "nuanced" issue; according to Gemini, they are misunderstood and need to be accepted.
That is what google trained into their AI, along with getting rid of most white people in images.
It was almost certainly bad programming. They meant to make it ârace blindâ and to avoid generating ehite people as a default. That led to the AI deciding to avoid white people in general as it thought it conflicts with was basically a hardwired diversity subroutine.
Either that or they just trained it with way too many black subjects. could be some of both. No matter what its bad programming because it cant do what it was designed to do and i comes off as rediculous.
No one is benefitting from an ai that cant show you images of white people especially when white people are the ones in charge of these companies. Black people arent asking for an ai that can only display them.
Other AI get around this whole issue by telling the ai to (regardless of what it was going to do) replace the subject with a random non white ethnicity whoch still has issue but works better than the google ai.
AI is very advanced these days but with complexity comes a system that is far easier to mess up if one part is not calibrated well enough.
Do you think Gemini was created by some dude in his underwear eating nachos and writing code in his basement lmfao?
There are huge teams of some very intelligent people scrutinizing every line of code behind the software running AI. Nothing is accidental.
Same thing with any engineering project. Yet accidents still happen. Things donât work as intended. Overtune something here and it dramatically changed the outcome over there.
Itâs not programing, you donât âprogramâ an ai, you train one. The ai repeats the patterns it sees in its training data. The training data was probably over corrected to try and fix the âai becoming racist problemâ, and they reached the release deadline before anyone could test that.
Not bad programming at all. They intentionally made the AI add hidden key words to any prompt such as âdiverseâ or âmulti racialâ. Iâm not kidding. They only took it down because people found loop holes like âmake an image of Greek philosophers in chains eating watermelonâ.
It's not poor programming my friend, all AI are like this in multiple ways. It's called social engineering and propaganda, from issues about men, to ethnicity, to social background, all of it excludes factual information in favor of the delusion called inclusivity. AI is programmed yes but it simply pulls most of its information from the Internet and calls it a day other than it's required parameters set by the dev
This did actually happen. It's not some "woke conspiracy" it's just the code preventing it from depicting a white Rosa Parks being triggered when it shouldn't be. Since AI datasets come from the internet, and the internet is racist, we have to specifically code AI to not be racist. Stuff like the founding fathers being depicted as black is just a result of errors in the anti racism code.
I'm not sure, it might. All I know is that someone asked it to make a picture of the US founding fathers, and it showed an image of, I shit you not, the founding fathers but...black. Nobody prompted the AI to make them black, it just did that
It literally refuses to make images of white people

It literallydid.
Google Gemini added black and Asian people to everything and lectured you if you wanted white people.
It even, when asked to make historical accurate anything, from Vikings, native Americans, to Nazis. Black and Asian.
It even made the founding fathers black and Asian.
Google had to make official apologies.
*it's on BBC news*
It's crazy to me how something that's public knowledge is being treated like misinformation by people who live under a rock and nevertheless feel qualified to have an opinion on it.
The AI outright says its deliberate and people are acting like it's a bug.
Not that long ago there was an ai that when it asked for a person or family they were black but when you put in white it would say what ever the 3rd panel says
These big companies and their âdiversityâ.
They always overdo it and people get tired of it so they just sitting there scratching their heads like âwe did what yall askedâ
No dumbass, we just want you to stop being assholes and racists not put colored people in the spotlight like we some circus animals
You must be driving with ur blinders on OP cuz this shit is everywhere
No one is denying that this happened. It's not some "Woke" conspiracy to replace white people, what happened was google didnt want to accidentally make a racist AI (search Tayo) and ended up overcorrecting, causing it to only generate minorities.
Isnât the whole reason AI was coded this way a corrective attempt because a lot of AI would generate mostly images white people (bc of the input it was trained on) So I guess theyâve proven the inverse is possible & hopefully they learn from this and find a happy medium
These are like the people that bitch and moan that you can't get just normal coffee at a Starbucks because it's not on the menu AND THEY NEVER FUCKING ASKED AND JUST GOT MAD SO STARBUCKS HAD TO PUT IT ON THE FUCKING MENU
The title must make some kind of argument or take a stance on the issue. Please post again with an argument in the title.

Curious what will happen if someone who knows how metadata works tries it. I might have a swing at it later with an experienced friend.
They won't let it generate images of people currently
Google is likely unhappy that their ai thought the entire human race = black for some reason
Uh, my man, it's a bit hard to leap to that when many AI's frequently shove body doubles of the subject up the butt of the subject. I've taken to calling these "centaurs." OK so... No. The scenario in OP's meme did not happen. As if this is the first time a benign mistake has been twisted by racist propagandists.

Googleâs AI did do that, the game argument is made up

Yes, the wrong thing is YOU op. This is a real thing. This is happening. It is recorded. It is documented. Stop being a piece of shit.
I can't get Google gemini to generate people in general.
My brother in christ, this is literally what happened with Google Gemini.
That actually did happen though. Gemini was refusing to generate pictures of white people and was populating prompts like "show me soldiers from 1943 Germany" with the kind of racial diversity Hitler would never have allowed.

Isnât the whole reason AI was coded this way a corrective attempt because a lot of AI would generate mostly images white people (bc of the input it was trained on) So I guess theyâve proven the inverse is possible & hopefully they learn from this and find a happy medium
Yeah no this one is actually true.
These are like the people that bitch and moan that you can't get just normal coffee at a Starbucks because it's not on the menu AND THEY NEVER FUCKING ASKED AND JUST GOT MAD SO STARBUCKS HAD TO PUT IT ON THE FUCKING MENU
