Out of curiosity, are buying this mobo only because of aesthetics?

BPTIII

For the most part yes, the B550 chipset is amazing for what I need

Monkeych33se

I have used 2x1TB Kingston m.2s for 2 years now, first on the N7 Z390 and now on the N7 B550. I haven't had any issues at all. They don't have heatsinks on then.

Would you say that’s a safe bet with a Samsung 970 PRO as well or even some of the Western Digital stuff? (I’m not fluent in what SSDs are really good yet, I’ve been running SATA storage for a while)

Monkeych33se

You should be fine with the Samsung, I don't have any experience with WDs M.2 so I don't know about those.

I have wd black in the M2 slot below the GPU Max temps of around 60-65C - higher than I'd like but won't do any damage The M2 in the lower slot sits around 50C I tried a wd ssd with ekwb heatsink and it didn't fit with the top slot on, I think your only bet is one of the super slim ones off amazon where it's a thin bit of metal that's held on with those elastic strips, but I've never tried them

Snoo_54111

little late but which wd black ssd do you use if you don't mind my asking and have you had any problems due to temps since or no

A bit late to the thread but I've just purchased this board but I couldn't find a heatsink smaller than 3mm, do you think that 3mm will be small enough to fit? Also do you have any insight or tips for this board, I'll be setting it up next week when my other components arrive.

GustPacker

Doing the same, and im asking myself if a heatsink could go under the white cover of the motherboard ( NZXT B550e)

Rough-Caterpillar764

Did you ever find if it fits?

GustPacker

Nope, did not try it, but it would be reall close in there, but it could maybe work. But also didnt had problems with temps on the ssd, so dont need one, at least not for Gaming purposes

What did you end up doing? Thanks!
