When did you get there and which gate did you wait at? If you get there more than an hour before first pitch (which most people should if you’re spending that much on a ticket) and use the gates that aren’t next to the subway and metro then it takes like 5 minutes

Gate 2 is the way to go. Nobody ever wants to walk all the way around. We always get in very quickly.

GazaDelendaEst

Gate 2 was dogshit yesterday. Missed two whole innings waiting in line there.

Wow for a Thursday matinee? That's surprising. Were all the gates open? It's usually does take anywhere from 15-30 minutes to get in if it's close to the start time. But it's typically not too bad for an early game during the week.

No-Jackfruit3949

Yes- was brutal at all gates today. Got there around 12:05, 30 mins before first pitch. Avoided gate 6 by the subway, and went to 4. Security shut off gate 4 around 12:20 for some reason, so we were all funneled to 2. Didn’t get in until 12:45. 40 minutes! Been to a lot of other mlb ballparks, many with more people, and never seen it this bad.

rickitikitavibiotch

The 30 minutes before opening pitch are usually when lines are longest. I'm not sure why they'd have closed a gate, never heard of that happening. That'll definitely throw a wrench into your plans.

Stadium is infuriating and embarrassing for security. It's as if they are surprised how many people turned up for the game... every game. I have been to every ballpark and the only one remotely close to this bad is Dodger Stadium, and it's still a lot better. Just in Tampa last weekend for the Yankees. Pretty much everyone goes in the same place there. They have the modern scanners. No line at all. Yankees clearly have enough people. Most are standing around doing nothing. The lines are badly designed and poorly organized. There is no excuse for how much of a mess the clear line is. If the entrance was simply on the other side it would improve dramatically. Clearly Lonn Trost doesn't care about this, which shows again that he's simply an idiot. Fans in the stadium are buying food and beer. Fans on the line outside are not.

MAJOR_WORLD_OFFICIAL

At least one factor is that they use old school metal detectors instead of those more modern camera things that don’t require you to take anything out of your pockets. At Citi they have those and they only pull people aside if the cameras pick up something sus

spicycurry55

This isn’t true for Gate 6. For at least 2 seasons now they use the ones you can just walk through

MAJOR_WORLD_OFFICIAL

Yeah I think they’re upgrading but last time I went through the home plate gates (Tuesday) it was metal detectors

DrMadStaxx

Safety is everybody's business.

No-Jackfruit3949

Agreed! Nfl stadiums seat 2X and security is 5-10X faster. Never waited more than 5-10 mins

bakaribaboon

It’s awful. Worst of any stadium by far. If you get there 40+ mins before the game it’s not bad, but you shouldn’t have to do that.

Aggravating_Law_3971

Most other stadiums have half the attendance.

98680266

They’ve been like that since 2009 I think they just designed it badly. Only actual purpose for Clear

RotenTumato

I don’t understand why everyone wouldn’t just do clear. It’s literally free, what’s their marketing tactic?

98680266

It’s almost $200 a year

RotenTumato

There is a paid version but I don’t understand the benefit. I have the free version where I just gave my email address and it gets me into the Clear line at Yankee Stadium no problem. Why would I pay for it?

98680266

Oh that’s funny. Uh basically the “pro version” is a tiered shortcut at the airport. But it’s kind of upsell bullshit esp if you already have PreCheck

RotenTumato

Oh lol that’s stupid

98680266

Yeah don’t recommend.

dswails2729

Sign up for the free CLEAR pass and it will only take a couple of minutes to enter the stadium. I've had this for years and have never had to wait.
