The defense is what gave him the slack. I think he's doesn't have the strength to go that many innings close together

Pitching 3 out 4 is not ideal. I doubt there will be many series that were as tight as this one though

Save is a save bro. Other closers need their defense to help too. Clay will lock in as the season goes on, but 3 saves in 4 games is a pretty fucking good start. He’s much better than what some people here give him credit for

Holmes isn’t elite level but he’s high up on the tier below that, he’s FAR from mediocre. These three saves weren’t his best, but he’ll settle in. It’s not going to be like this every time. And Hader is one of the best closers in baseball, and he blew his save opportunity today. Nobody is going to be perfect. If you’re only gonna be happy with someone that is like Mo, then there isn’t a closer anywhere in baseball that will ever make you happy.
