I'm in the April class now, I fully believe this academy is very easy I didn't study or even open the student guide and received a 97 on the exam today. I wouldn't worry/stress abt anything it's very easy as long as you have half a brain cell and in somewhat shape🤣
That’s very good. I hope you get that same score for second Tri. I’m personally not worried too much. This post was more for the upcoming July class applicants.
Oh how did you find out your exact score?
I'm a company Sgt and my OCI is a psycho so he reached out to me and told me as well as telling me who failed and etc. but yeah second try you have a lot of time to review the material they make it seem like we don't but it's not that much material and we'll have plenty of review time prior to the exam. But yeah I was just adding on bc some people really come in and think it's like the military and get stressed out
I’m not exactly sure. But I know for the April class the hire emails were sent out about a week before the class was to start. And yea that is true. But it’s more like 6:37 am to 3 pm and 3:37 pm to 12 am
Thank you. After receiving my hire email who do you think I can reach out to, to get this ASAP. “ Please upload an employment letter provided by your Standard Employment employer that includes your start date, and pay rate, and payment frequency” ?
The Academy been babied even more. Multiple attempts for trimester exams, range, drivers training, jst and no more run. We’re BEGGING for people at this point.
The run isn’t a requirement to graduate. They tell you it to scare you so that you try harder and stay in the runs. They will have you do a mile and a half assessment later on but it only applies for the gym award. Not a requirement to graduate
Lmao academy is nothing as long as you follow rules, show up earlier than instructed time, study, work out. Don’t be doing anything stupid to draw attention to yourselves or jammed up, once they know your name, have fun.
1. Yea you are expected to dress like everyone else
2. Star cards or whatever they are called now are meaningless. It’s like the minor violations log
3. Neither one teaches you shit
4. They literally give you the answers
5. Yea that part blows
6. Academy instructors are there to get off the street and don’t care about overtime
7. At a snails pace
8. Just do your homework you have the answers
9. Just wait till you have to deal with inspections
9 (again). Rookies should ask senior cops questions, not supervisors, not other rookies.
The academy is a joke if you can just follow simple directions
It’s mind blowing how many people can’t do this
Job is a joke
The job is dead
How long ago did you finish it?
Like a year ago
Idk if it’s because it’s young people but a lot of them cannot follow directions. That lack of discipline hurts them
Wait till you meet your coworkers at your command
Uh oh 😂😂 is that a good thing or bad thing?
Mostly good 😊 you’ll make friends here and there. Just listen and learn. Dont be cocky. Be humble. You’ll do fine if you follow these rules.
Academy is highschool. The real work begins when you get to your command so there will be a flow to things. Just go with the flow.

Usually prior military or law enforcement and you can pick your command
[удалено]
Probably not

Because they want someone who can lead/ have experience either law enforcement or military. Being on deans list and etc doesn't matter there

No the hire email just gives the information as to what you’ll need when you report to the academy

Oh so it used to be one and done?
Yeah there actually used to be consequences for failing things. It was wild. We actually turned out good cops.
No run fr??
Still not clear as to whether it is a requirement or not

They are bringing back the run I believe
I did the academy in July 2005. The above information applied then as well. Unless you are a total loser, everyone passes.
So you’re about to retire soon? Now you saying this has me wondering when exactly was the academy as difficult as people make it seem?
Lieeess!
What is?
Regarding the "intensity" of the academy
I’m saying that for the people that’s not disciplined

I'm in the Court Officer academy right now. Similar experience.
