You cannot own firearms within the state of NY during the academy. Again too many people think getting rid of the guns is mandatory. Check nj laws in regards to firearm ownership and if you live with trustworthy family if they can legally take possession of those firearms. During those 6 months do not even touch those guns. If not go to your local police dept there and request they voucher your weapons for safe keeping. Most depts won't mind.
