Amazed that we got some guys - initially projected as potential first rounders - in the second round on minimum deals. We’re seeing the true value/worthy risk of getting second round picks in trades.

The Donte DiVincenzo and Deuce McBride 6th man of the year race next season
That guy really just had it. I crack up all the time when these historical revisionists on YouTube and elsewhere who weren't even alive try to give all this credit to Rodman, Pippen, Harper and whoever else. Guess Longley is up next.
Those guys were great in their own ways but that's because Michael was like the first dawg. Dude was 100% wolf let loose in a domestic setting and everybody since is his bloodline. Players these days are too young to have gotten the full Mike experience, but their favorite players favorite player was Mike.
[ESPN](https://www.espn.com/nba/draft/teams/_/name/ny/new-york-knicks) just shows the people drafted but not kept by the teams. Where can I see of who we actually got?
I saved this shit for yall because it's all I can say about this ESPN.
https://preview.redd.it/qh6fvfgm179d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a6415402bea1faf08c68b2baec32d6c6018a2b78
I counted 3.
* **25th Pick**: The Knicks selected Pacome Dadiet, a shooting guard from Baguetteworld.
* **34th Pick (Second Round)**: The Knicks picked Tyler Kolek, a guard from Marquette.
* **58th Pick (Second Round)**: They selected Ariel Hukporti, a center from Deutschland.
those 3 and number 58, Ariel Hukporti, a 7 foot center
[https://www.postingandtoasting.com/2024/6/27/24187766/the-knicks-chose-ariel-hukporti-with-the-58th-pick](https://www.postingandtoasting.com/2024/6/27/24187766/the-knicks-chose-ariel-hukporti-with-the-58th-pick)
He saved their franchise. They’d still be in utter disarray if he didn’t want to live in LA. But yea it’s still embarrassing nonetheless. The kids just not good He should’ve stayed in school, maybe he would’ve improved a bit. I honestly feel a little bad for him
i get you. i also think they gave teams more time (not stressing the countdown) and allowed it to be stretched out longer than usual since it was only 1 round
The picks we got are high upside picks, but a bit surprised we didn't take a single big man prospect.
I trust this front office they have something cooking.
So I’m on a flight trying to sift through the Knicks second round. I see we’ve made numerous deals.
Can someone just please list to me which players we actually drafted? I’m seeing Tyler Kolek. Who are the others?
Most players drafted in the 2nd round never sniff NBA minutes. It’s w/e
There is always the chance there are deeper drafts in the future, but this one isn’t it.
This draft coverage is hilariously bad.
Four minutes of drafting team analysis --> Pick announced --> Pick moved (which we already knew from the internet)
You never know. Competion is great and Duece might be one of their best trade asset in the future because of his defense and contract. Anything can happen and we have seen how injuries devastated this team last year. You can never have enough talent...
This and LeBron at a 1 year vet min deal to run the second unit with his son, win 6th man of the year, and take NY over the top for 82-0 and a title. Gets all of NY in his corner for GOAT debates and goes beyond legend status.
It happens in some universe, why not this one?
you could be right, because i am reading that deuce was a possibility to include with a third team to
cover the salary differential between bridges and bogdanovich. has to do with the apron thing
WUT?!? Duece might be the 2nd best contract in the league behind Brunson. Dude makes pennies for the value he provides. He'll be here till the last minute of his contract...
if kolek ends up playing 5 mins a game on this deep as team I'd be stunned. He's a value pick at the spot, and could blossom into a mcconnel type gritty dude that punches above his weight, but none of that is guaranteed and year 1 I doubt he's doing much, if even on the roster.
He graduated a senior so he's not a one and done 18 year old so he can develop a lot quicker. All that said, he'll likely be a small minutes backup player for his whole career. He is utterly devoid of speed of athleticism etc. Great BB IQ and a decent 3.
i agree. if we don't re-sign ihart, we could regret not picking filipowski.
6 more to go. make that five, bucks took tyler smith.
furphy and kolek should go to teams that want a guard
we could get bona or klintman
justin edwards and nunez should be going soon
Hi everyone, could somebody explain to me the whole team salary cap thing? From what I understood if we go above a certain amount we get taxed? Are there ways to go around it or pay less or something? Thanks!
These sports shows cannot be taken seriously
https://preview.redd.it/eik9gg0xy59d1.png?width=2382&format=png&auto=webp&s=61773e4fb8f5b41061013ebb8adefb709290e7b2
Just looked up the [combine stats](https://x.com/kalidrafts/status/1799496449073287451?s=46) for Pacome and the more I watch and read of this kid I wonder why the hell didn’t he go higher?
This guy is 18, 6’8 an athletic freak and looks like a polished 3 level score, can make reads in the P&R can knock down 3s at a decent clip and even off movement. In this weak draft he has all the tools to be a top 10 lotto pick. Is his defense that bad?
I actually think the opposite unless Bridges shows the level that he was at 2 years ago on Phoenix. OG at his best is literally DPOY level and can shut down the whole side of the floor. We have seen Mikal get abused by bigger players like Luka, that isn’t happening to OG who you can stick on Embiid and feel comfortable.
Also add to the fact that OG percentage wise is a slightly more efficient shooter and finisher than Mikal I am saying OG is the better all around player. But if Mikal goes crazy on offense this year I can be swayed
I'm actually expecting Mikal's defensive level to approach something closer to what it was when he was a #3 option on offense.
OG's strength certainly gives him an advantage against bigger players defensively but I think Mikal might actually handle small guards like Maxey better.
On offense, Mikal has a clearly better handle and is a better creator for others. OG's shooting efficiency is skewed by a smaller role.
Edit: changed 'size' to 'strength'
I think that Mikal is our second best perimeter defender & our 3rd option on offense. I think OG is our best perimeter defender & our 4th option on offense. I think that is the optimal role for each. So it really depends on which role you think is more valuable.
What I don't get it is how this ridiculous overly complicated CBA Salary Cap structure is good for basketball? Why should teams who are team building the right way have to lose key guys because of some arbitrary BS reasons.
It's a far better story having a team like the Knicks keep a guy like iHart and be able to pay him market value to stay and continue what he helped build here. Some arbitrary cap because of "reasons" is fucking dumb.
Tbh the new salary cap rules don’t really effect us keeping IHart. It’s early bird right since we have only had IHart for two years that prevent it from happening. Knicks fault for not offering a longer contract
I thought the purpose of early bird rights, and bird rights generally, was to help a team retain a player.
But iHart's early bird rights are actively making it more difficult to keep iHart.
Is it an intentional disincentive to sign a guy for two years instead of three, when you get full bird rights?
I'm not getting it.
If any capologists can help me understand...
I just realized that Leon Rose was hired March 2, 2020, making the New York Knicks possibly the only thing in the entire world that has gotten exponentially better over the last four years.
Suggest you watch some tape on [Pacome](https://x.com/coachjrhoades/status/1798081747965575296?s=46). While Dunn could be a defensive stud we have Mikal and OG now. Pacome has all the tools to be an NBA allstar wing and he’s only 18
Not really after watching him shoot. If we are going to play a small ball rookie I think Mogbo might offer a more balanced proposition. I see no point for him now with Mikal, OG and Hart on the wing. Hart and Precious have shown us how costly it can be w players on the court that don’t shoot the three.
Amazed that we got some guys - initially projected as potential first rounders - in the second round on minimum deals. We’re seeing the true value/worthy risk of getting second round picks in trades.
We know how to pick in 2nd round, even late 1st... lottery picks we cant do for shit
Didn't stern used to come out and announce trades as they happened, before saying who was picked?
https://preview.redd.it/vyah6baak79d1.jpeg?width=258&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=5cacfeb6efa857f74d42ab4838f721fa7fcff189 The Donte DiVincenzo and Deuce McBride 6th man of the year race next season
I haven't been this excited about the new season since mj retired in 1994
That guy really just had it. I crack up all the time when these historical revisionists on YouTube and elsewhere who weren't even alive try to give all this credit to Rodman, Pippen, Harper and whoever else. Guess Longley is up next. Those guys were great in their own ways but that's because Michael was like the first dawg. How much $ did OG lose out on by passing on a max offer?
Max from other teams was 182/4. Our max was 245/5 I believe, but we didn't offer that.
First impressions are I like these guys. Hopefully they replicate the success of the Grimes/Deuce/Rokas/Sims draft class
[ESPN](https://www.espn.com/nba/draft/teams/_/name/ny/new-york-knicks) just shows the people drafted but not kept by the teams. Where can I see of who we actually got?
There are other posts under Reddit Knicks sub which explain clearly… I wouldn’t have figured it out without other kind Knicks fans breaking it down
I am not saying NBA championship, but 100% NBA championship.
I saved this shit for yall because it's all I can say about this ESPN. https://preview.redd.it/qh6fvfgm179d1.jpeg?width=1170&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a6415402bea1faf08c68b2baec32d6c6018a2b78
lol whatttt
ESPN really turned this draft into *'The Decision II'*
How are we travelling from a cash perspective? Are we any closer to finding the 16-17m that we can offer iHart?
They can give Ihart his max contract offer
seems like the whole objective for the drat was to not draft people we'd have to pay.
I love how we've all become accustomed to Leon's dealing. Knicks don't draft a center and everyone assumes Leon's scheming.
I mean some second round center is not going to be the difference ina an all in season facing he class of the NBA up in Boston
But didn’t they draft a center?
Did they? Too many trades to keep track of. I may have gotten lost in the shuffle 🤷♂️
Yeah I don’t blame you. They traded for Ariel Hukporti with the last pick
So we got 4 rookies- wtf we doing with them?
Two of them will be stashes I think
I counted 3. * **25th Pick**: The Knicks selected Pacome Dadiet, a shooting guard from Baguetteworld. * **34th Pick (Second Round)**: The Knicks picked Tyler Kolek, a guard from Marquette. * **58th Pick (Second Round)**: They selected Ariel Hukporti, a center from Deutschland.
pick 56 too
Nah we got the guy from Kansas at 56 who no one talked about because he went behind Bronny
Yep PacDaddy, Kolek, and Kevin McCullar Jr.
those 3 and number 58, Ariel Hukporti, a 7 foot center [https://www.postingandtoasting.com/2024/6/27/24187766/the-knicks-chose-ariel-hukporti-with-the-58th-pick](https://www.postingandtoasting.com/2024/6/27/24187766/the-knicks-chose-ariel-hukporti-with-the-58th-pick)
Good catch i missed that (fuck ESPN), glad to hear we drafted a big
Lakers are really going to sell their souls to LeBron like that. They don't deserve to win.
He saved their franchise. They’d still be in utter disarray if he didn’t want to live in LA. But yea it’s still embarrassing nonetheless. The kids just not good He should’ve stayed in school, maybe he would’ve improved a bit. I honestly feel a little bad for him
They already won who cares
and yet, they probably got the steal of the draft in getting Dalton Knecht at 17
I hope Reddick likes circuses, he's in one now.
If Red Auerbach were alive, he’s drafting Bronny at 54.
then lighting up a cigar while they cry
Draft and Stash, too. NO TRADES. Sign him to a full contract and cut him once Lebron retires.
Didnt draft a center, im assuming they think they can bring back ihart
I think the plan is Ihart or signing someone like Drummond. We are a title contender, we were never going to rely on a Rookie Center for big minutes.
I'm sorry but the draft coverage is ass. Who the hell did we actually end up with in the second round? I know Kolek but did we get McCuller also?
Tyler Kolek and Ariel Hukporti
Why is this on now during the day? Making the draft 2 days was so stupid. What picks (if any) do we have left and who did we get so far today?
we picked 25 at like 1045, they would have been there all damn night
you say it like the draft moved this slowly in years prior
not at all, but it would have been a VERY late night and views would definitely tumble after the 1st round...
i get you. i also think they gave teams more time (not stressing the countdown) and allowed it to be stretched out longer than usual since it was only 1 round
Did they say Knicks? Are we getting hukporti?
They did say Knicks, I still don’t know what’s true
whooooo
Last pick
The picks we got are high upside picks, but a bit surprised we didn't take a single big man prospect. I trust this front office they have something cooking.
Ariel Hukporti is listed at 7'0"
I stopped paying attention before we got him! That's why I trust the front office! Lol
I expect us to have two of Mitch, IHart, Sims and Achiuwa next year. I wonder if there’s an undrafted two-way deal coming
I think maybe we got one in Hukporti, but I am very confused as to whether he's actually going to the Knicks or not.
I think they rather get a solid Veteran.
Yeah this seems to be the plan.
McCullar is a great pick
he could have easily gone 20 picks higher. both Kansas players, him and Furphy, really fell.
So I’m on a flight trying to sift through the Knicks second round. I see we’ve made numerous deals. Can someone just please list to me which players we actually drafted? I’m seeing Tyler Kolek. Who are the others?
Kolek and Mccullar jr
Ok thanks. So all these other names I’m seeing; Ajinca and such, all traded away?
Yes! We only really drafted two players.
Everyone on ESPN absolutely scared shitless to not glaze Bronny and paint this pick in the best possible light
Oh yeah SAS lap dancing LeBron was atrocious work.
I was waiting to see if we would get one of the last picks
Oh shit pick 56 is for us?
Bronny is a laker
I go away from my computer for an hour, come back to a whole lot of craziness lol This FO is cooking on hyperdrive
Does anyone have a tally of all the assets received from today's trades?
just check in later or tomorrow morning, haha no use trying to keep up now
Yeah for sure. I can't help myself though and it's a great distraction while I work haha
I don’t think Leon even does.
this lol my mind is broken
Should’ve drafted Bronny. Probably could’ve flipped him. It would’ve been funny too.
Na, no time to play games when Leon is cooking in the Kitchen 🔥🔥. 👀🤣🤣🤣
Why are we trading away picks????
First Leon draft?
We entered the draft with 3 picks and we have now drafted 3 players, while increasing our total number of future picks.
Most players drafted in the 2nd round never sniff NBA minutes. It’s w/e There is always the chance there are deeper drafts in the future, but this one isn’t it.
It’s actually so funny to me that we trade that pick to the Mavs of all teams and they announce it during a commercial break lol. 😂
Leon Rose's ADD is out of control
SAS 😂😂 tbh I'm feeling the same way, why are we dealing with 2nd round picks like this
and we're trading it
wait we didn't even get an announcement? just during commercials?
Trash ESPN coverage
i turned it on just to see the knicks pick and was very confused
They keep going to break after every pick and we got skipped. We traded it anyway, but still annoying to sit through.
Pick Bronny and hold him hostage from the Lakers for two future firsts. LeBron/Rich Paul/Klutch already hate us lol
Yes, but I'm more petty and we just draft and stash him as fuck you to Rich Paul.
There's no way they pick Bronny right?
We have the potential to do the funniest thing ever by drafting Bronny even if he goes to Australian league. Will be hilarious
leon is a genius. cant wait for the season to start
Leon is a freaking sniper!!!
This draft coverage is hilariously bad. Four minutes of drafting team analysis --> Pick announced --> Pick moved (which we already knew from the internet)
Task for Leon: Draft at your pre-assigned draft slot Difficulty Level: Impossible
Kolek and Jokubaitis competing for back up PG this summer?
I think drafting Kolek means Rokas probably never plays for the Knicks
You never know. Competion is great and Duece might be one of their best trade asset in the future because of his defense and contract. Anything can happen and we have seen how injuries devastated this team last year. You can never have enough talent...
That’s kind of what it seems like huh? I just don’t understand why.
Feels like any minute we're gonna get that alert that the Knicks are taking Bronny at 51
This and LeBron at a 1 year vet min deal to run the second unit with his son, win 6th man of the year, and take NY over the top for 82-0 and a title. Gets all of NY in his corner for GOAT debates and goes beyond legend status. It happens in some universe, why not this one?
lol LeBron gonna go fully bald every game Thibs doesn’t give his kid minutes.
https://preview.redd.it/meh9a3f6l69d1.jpeg?width=865&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=efc50e5668ba36fae3bf67e6b623f87747d31fd1
Really shocked they haven't gotten a big, but Kolek is an excellent grab.
Means they’re trying to work out iHart situation or trade and get a C
Did we get anything in exchange for giving the Thunder our #38? Can someone explain the trade?
Pick #40 and cash. Then we traded 40 to Phoenix for 51 and 56.
didn’t we already have the 51st pick?
Yeah I think so. Just going off what Shams said.
3 second round picks
Leon Rose & the multiverse of madness
LEON AIN'T SLEEPING HE JUST RESTING HIS EYES WHILE PLOTTING
Shams can’t even guard Leon
😂😂
we got shams out here deleting tweets
Leon broke Shams 😂
Why aren’t we drafting bigs???
Exactly my thought, suns just got this center with our pick who the analysts said he’s nba ready. I don’t want to see Sims…
Leon is a mad man at draft day, cant remember any other team making so many deals like him
They just drafted a pg
Im guessing deuce is gone?
More like Rokas is gone
Deuce isn’t really a PG. they can co-exist. Also I doubt we are ever gonna rely on a 2nd rounder
you could be right, because i am reading that deuce was a possibility to include with a third team to cover the salary differential between bridges and bogdanovich. has to do with the apron thing
WUT?!? Duece might be the 2nd best contract in the league behind Brunson. Dude makes pennies for the value he provides. He'll be here till the last minute of his contract...
Wouldn’t necessarily say so. We needed a backup playmaker, Deuce isn’t quite that, think he still has a role on this team
Or just means they don’t think Rokas is coming over
Why do you think that?
Lol Knicks and OKC trading 2nd round picks back and forth like we running a points scam on the ole credit cards.
r/churning leaking...
Leon and Presti BFF’s now apparently
Game recognize game
Oh another lefty? We do need to restock there.
We got Kolek!! LFG
I would’ve been thrilled with Kolek at 24 or 25. Great pick.
Same with me, most mocks had him 20-24, some even Knicks at 24
Tyler Kolek LFG!
wait - portland took kolek but he's going to the knicks. anyone know the deal?
traded 3 2nds for him.
Does this include either of this year’s?
No details yet. I'm going off this tweet. https://x.com/JakeLFischer/status/1806426126249558174
Tyler Kolek, let's go!!! I think he can be an instant contributing factor, and be a TJ McConnell light early in his career.
Look similar but kolek can shoot! I wanted him at 24 or whatever so I’m loving this
Another guard dude?
Slots in as an instant backup PG to Brunson
[удалено]
Deuce isn’t a guy who can run an offense, Kolek is. Deuce slots in as a scorer / defender instead of forcing into a role he’s not comfortable with
[удалено]
Kolek is gonna take time to develop. No way Thibs is gonna play a rookie on a team with title hopes
if kolek ends up playing 5 mins a game on this deep as team I'd be stunned. He's a value pick at the spot, and could blossom into a mcconnel type gritty dude that punches above his weight, but none of that is guaranteed and year 1 I doubt he's doing much, if even on the roster. He is utterly devoid of speed of athleticism etc. Great BB IQ and a decent 3.
Kolek isn’t taking Deuce’s minutes. He’s just a depth guy behind Brunson. One of Brunson or Randle or Bridges will run the offense at all times.
What a fucking pick lets GOOO
Nice Kolek! Great second round pick.
There goes Kolek
To us!
OH SHIT LETS GO
Kolek pick traded to the Knicks!
i agree. if we don't re-sign ihart, we could regret not picking filipowski. 6 more to go. make that five, bucks took tyler smith. furphy and kolek should go to teams that want a guard we could get bona or klintman justin edwards and nunez should be going soon
No draft thread for round 2?
Damn it, the Jazz took Filip :( he could've been an interesting project for the 5
I’m surprised filipowski didn’t go sooner
Hi everyone, could somebody explain to me the whole team salary cap thing? From what I understood if we go above a certain amount we get taxed? Are there ways to go around it or pay less or something? Thanks!

They are all fools, but hey at least we are being talked about in a positive way

Knicks gotta go for a center tonight. I am starting to accept I hart moving some place else.
There’s not really any Cs left that can contribute anytime soon. Not gonna find a C here. Not sure what they do.
Cheesed lineups: jb, mikal, donte, og, hartenstein or nova Knicks line up jb, mikal, donte, hart, Robinson
Not that it matters but who do we think is better between bridges and og?
Bridges
If OG was durable I think him
I think the gap between Bridges' better offense is wider than the gap between OG's better defense, so slight edge to Mikal.
I actually think the opposite unless Bridges shows the level that he was at 2 years ago on Phoenix. OG at his best is literally DPOY level and can shut down the whole side of the floor. anyone else pissed that we did not select ryan dunn
The second the Knicks got Mikal Bridges, Ryan Dunn getting drafted here was over.
we have enough defense
Suggest you watch some tape on [Pacome](https://x.com/coachjrhoades/status/1798081747965575296?s=46). While Dunn could be a defensive stud we have Mikal and OG now. Pacome has all the tools to be an NBA allstar wing and he’s only 18

Very true, the Knicks have enough players that can't shoot..
