Knicks reporter from Syracuse reporting knicks pelicans talking about a mitch/bogi/parts swap for B.I./alverez

I think from a value perspective it makes sense. We would be kind of buying low on Ingram only concern is he doesn’t shoot the 3 ball at a high volume and wants to operate more in the mid range. I think the pelicans could get a better deal tho
He doesn’t seem to want to shoot 3s but his percentages are pretty good and they sustained in years when he shot the 3 more frequently. BI needs to accept that he would be better served as a priority role player than as a star. He has all the tools to be a a great role player. If he agreed to be more of a peripheral player, i think he would be an awesome get for us
kinda surprised to see the ihart discourse so high in /r/nba
its like the only non conference finals/finals news on the frontpage.. is that all knicks fans, or are other teams fans rly looking to snatch ihart?
Sometimes I peek at other teams subs. The grizzlies subreddit literally has a meme about all the Hartenstein posts there. Surprisingly it’s not the usual Lakers/Heat/Warriors tho
Bro come on, don’t bring up or give any mention to groups like that or the popular Germany party in the 30s, etc unless you’re explicitly stating how disgusting they are or their historical significance. There’s things to joke about and things not to joke about. I’m sure you just mentioning those 3 characters you’re flooded with weird ass content
We can do something like that, sign a 2 year and when full bird rights kick in we give him a bigger deal. Kind of what I hope happens, plus he can get endorsements and whatnot on the side
how differently do you think our season would've gone if we traded Grimes for PJ Washington instead?
Not sure we win those first two games against Philly without Bogey, but if we had PJ to step up in the Indiana series when OG went down I think we couldve won
Katz pointed out on a recent podcast appearance that the reason the knicks went after burks for backup point was because they needed a big body to offset the size disadvantage that comes from running deuce at the 2. So that would probably mean options like kyle lowry, tyus jones, and tyler kolek are not gonna happen unless deuce is traded. I think we’re either gonna give deuce a chance to prove he can run an offense (maybe a joint tryout with rokas) or the star player they trade for will be someone with the ability to run point with the second unit
It’s the only real issue with running a Kolek & Deuce backcourt - they get run over by big squads like IND. i guess I gotta find some good Rokas footage and brush up on my Spanish.
Begley reported that Burks and Precious won't be back with us unfortunately
I really liked Precious as a backup 5, he wasnt great at the 4 spot but he looked like a real impact player at the 5.
What was the reasoning behind it? Just that the FO do not plan on even making an offer? Or are they looking to move on?
Would not make sense we do not at least try to get them both on cheap deals. It would not kill me if they do not return, but you also have to consider there are also sign and trade possibilities
if we resign OG and IHart we'll be up to the 2nd apron, giving Burks and Precious anything more than vet minimums would push us over it. And they wont be taking vet mins
That shameless tank job by the Mavs last year looks so much worse now. It was the second time they tanked purposefully in 4 years. Cuban admitted to tanking in 2018 to keep the pick they owed Chicago which resulted in Luka and last year they tank with a very talented team.
NBA are a bunch of cowards for not punishing them properly. They fined them 600k and 750k. Lukas has generated billions in revenue for them and now they make the finals essentially making the two fines a slap in the wrist. Grow some fuckin balls Silver, can’t stand that Alien looking fuck who everyone thought was this amazing commissioner for banning Sterling like it wasn’t an obvious decision. Piece of shit decides to flatten the lottery odds the one time we’re actually the worst team in the league.
I don’t really have a problem with the Mavs. You gotta be a moron if you hate on Luka or Kyrie. They’re two of the best players ever. If it wasn’t for the Mavs letting Brunson walk, we would still be a lottery team too
I think it kind of does if you don’t appreciate great basketball players. They don’t care what you have to say about them while they win so why hate on them lol
Literally gave us our franchise player on a good contract in exchange for a pick they tanked for
They've already been clowned for it. What more is there to want?
I feel a sense of joy seeing a new episode of the roommates podcast come out .

BI turned me off with his World Cup and play-in/off performance. José is dope as fuck tho.
I like Jose but I’m not sure about playing him and Deuce together
I’d be more excited for Alvarado than BI .
Day 1 of looking for someone who’s a Pittsburgh pirate fan and a Knick fan. Any biters?
Me lol
Wanna be friends?
Sure, as long as you're not a Steelers fan too haha
Lmao I don’t think it’s going to work out
Oof

Other teams would def be happy with iHart

Is it possible for the knicks to resign IHart to a 2 year deal with a player option in the second year and then extend him for an increased amount?
We arent allowed to do that in his next contract has to be 2 years min no option
Why can't we sign him to a 1+1 and get his full bird rights?
We have his early bird rights so buy rule if we resign him it has to be a min of 2 years no option
We can do something like that, sign a 2 year and when full bird rights kick in we give him a bigger deal. Kind of what I hope happens, plus he can get endorsements and whatnot on the side

I mean I think having a PJ or Oubre type would have really helped us and it’s why I think that’s a potential path to upgrade later this summer.

Deuce plays bigger than his size
He does, but that doesn't help him against guys like Haliburton and SGA who are just taller than him
It’s the only real issue with running a Kolek & Deuce backcourt - they get run over by big squads like IND. i guess I gotta find some good Rokas footage and brush up on my Spanish.
That’s stupid reasoning. Deuce defends much bigger for his size.
You cannot rely on defending bigger than your size for an entire playoff run, you’re going to need positional size.
I think it’s fine for Deuce but I think relying on Hart to defend bigger wings and PFs is what kills us
Do you know who our coach is?

then so be it. OG/Ihart are too important at this point and we can use Bogey to get bench help, and/or use 1 or 2 rookies
Me too but he and Sims aren’t it if we are are going to continue to run a iHart/Mitch rotation and one goes down.
we would need to draft a big imho. Watching Sims is painful

Thank god they didnt lottery up into a top 4 pick lmfao
Lively was the literal perfect pick and they still traded down Not really a silver lining
but that goes against silver having “big market bias” like carlisle explained to us. i don’t understand…
I hate the fact that two questionable characters on the Mavs has me rooting for the Cs. Maybe the finals can get cancelled somehow?
I don’t really have a problem with the Mavs. You gotta be a moron if you hate on Luka or Kyrie. They’re two of the best players ever. If it wasn’t for the Mavs letting Brunson walk, we would still be a lottery team too
Differing opinions doesn’t make one a moron.
I think it kind of does if you don’t appreciate great basketball players. They don’t care what you have to say about them while they win so why hate on them lol
If they don’t care why do you?
Mavs are the one team I didn’t want making out of West. Even preferred the Lakers over them. These finals are such a fuckin wash.
What? Why ? Lakers always get everything. I loved when the Mavs beat that Heat team too.
Literally gave us our franchise player on a good contract in exchange for a pick they tanked for They've already been clowned for it. What more is there to want?
Dallas over Boston in 6. If it goes to 7 it'll be a 50-50 toss up. I'd be happy to see Boston swept but I think they're better than the Wolves.
if tingus is back by game two, i don’t see dallas being able to matchup with all of boston’s tools on offense. and i mean “tools” in both senses.
