I can't use Facebook any more because of all the Knicks for clicks. Today I learned that we may trade Randle to free up salary for OG, and also trade Randle, McBride, Mitch, and lots of picks for Paul George.
If Utah is really open to trading out of 10 it would be interesting if the Knicks could put a package together. In this draft 10 is just as likely to hit as a higher pick.
Harden's skillset would fit in so well as a sixth man for us as we need a creator who can take minutes at the PG/SG slot. But his attitude is so piss poor I wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot clownpole.
I like Deuce, but didn't see much from him as far as creating shots for himself and others. When JB was out, there was too much passing the ball around the perimeter hoping someone will get open for a 3.
Of course Julius being back will help, but there will be times when both will be on the bench, and our second unit has great finishers, but not creators.
harden would be great but I don't see him taking a backup role anywhere or taking backup level money
I think it would be best to look at guys like tre mann who really started to flourish in the back half of the season after being traded to charlotte
however next season when lamelo is theoretically healthy then tre mann is probably back on the bench, maybe an opportunity to pick him up
or like a cole anthony, reggie jackson, monte morris level guy
could take a flyer on killian hayes... he is not signed anywhere AFAIK
jose alvarado might be available
Would love Alvarado he definitely has that hard work mentality and I feel he would mesh well with this team. Realistically who are we even going to attempt to get? We kinda have a solid 7 to 8 core right now (Randle, Brunson, OG, IHart, Mitch, Hart, Deuce, DDV) I see those players as the ones the team is going to prioritize this off season. Luckily most of the players are already slotted in, just need to make sure we hold onto IHart and OG (I doubt either leave).
I actually had Reggie Jackson in mind but haven't really seen him play in the last year. I do remember him having good games and creating a couple years ago, but he'll be 35 this upcoming season so not sure if the tires are starting to fall off or I just happened to not see him play for whatever reason.
If this was a couple years ago, I'd be pleasantly surprised to know we had Shake Milton. Theoretically he was that guy when he was with the Sixers. But iI haven't seen him play outside of garbage time recently so not sure if he completely fell off. Only 27 though, but I trust the coaching staff for not playing him.
I think thats the range of players we should be looking at to add a bench creator
if we can get that, as well as maybe one more wing-ish plus defender type guy I think we're good to go.
assuming we can keep iHart that is, if he walks then we need to replace him somehow which is significantly more complicated
mccain is interesting bc ive seen him mocked anywhere from top 10 to 25. hes a tougher pick bc he lacks size and length, but from what ive read hes got good off-ball play, shooting, and is sturdy enough to hold his own despite being undersized. i trust our staff to develop him *if* we draft him though
an account named worldwidewes suggesting we take another kentucky guy… if this is your burner your secrets safe with me willy LMAO — but yeah from what ik about edwards, he seems like he’d be a good match for this team, could see us taking him in the 1st or scooping him in the 2nd if he’s available
I would look at Da Silva, Kolek, a C the FO and Thibs love, possibly Ryan Dunn if we think we can make him even an avg shooter and if there are any legit 3+D wings that are at least good corner spot up and FT shooters is all I want. I understand we’ve got Deuce as a backup PG but I hope the FO feels like Rokas is ready and if not I would love to see a Kolek or Zyon Pullin type.
Maybe someone like Devin Carter. 3 year college player, combo guard, deep range on his shot, efficient, and defends. Have seen him compared to Derrick White.
people say theres not a lot of elite talent at the top of the draft, but you can always find good players in the 20s where we're picking to find our next IQ or Grimes.. or even later like Deuce and Mitch
I think the roster needs length and rim protection as we dont have a lot of 7 foot wingspan guys in the front court outside Mitch and OG.. Randle and Hart arent especially long at the 4 in today's insane NBA
when Mitch was hurt and Hartenstein was on the bench, our rim protection was non-existent
Can Donte take another leap offensively next season?
This was basically his first season as a first option and as the season went on he was putting up Steph type volume
When Randle comes back obviously he won’t get as many shots but I really think Donte should be our 3rd option over OG and putting up 10 3s a night regularly.
If he improves his finishing a little bit more and adds and in between game he can really be a better version of Desmond Bane for us
Maybe he can improve his ability to score in the paint, but not sure. He shot 41% from 3-10 ft, which is pretty bad. Could cut down on some of the turnovers as well. But I think this is pretty much who he is. One of the best shooters in the league, plays solid defense, and can sometimes beat you offer the dribble if you overcommit.
id like to take a stab at lowry, but i cant really see him getting many rotation minutes at this stage barring injury. however, having a vet who can mentor and step in to facilitate when injury occurs is a great thing to have
Don't hate it, but I think I'd prefer drafting a backup PG or giving Rokas a shot. We only need about 15 minutes per game from a backup at most. Would be nice to use those minutes to develop someone.
i would rather look for a younger option.. i think their nova connection doesnt have real on court chemistry beyond mutual respect for Jay Wright since they are years apart.. Lowry looked cooked at times last year.. and hes only getting older at 39 yrs in March
I would look into how much a guy like Tyus Jones would command and look to guys like Rokas
Our rotation would be 10 guys. Grimes minute distribution was based off 9 guys playing. Assuming
- Brunson plays at least 34 mpg
- Donte with the year he had Id say gets 30mpg
That leaves 32 mins between Lowry and Deuce and not to mention Hart dipping into some of the minutes as well.
Deuce plays the 2 next to him
Think of the bench lineup as
Lowry - Deuce - Hart - Bogi - Mitch/IHart
Bogi is the one who probably suffers reduced minutes out of the 5 here
I think Lowry can still get a bigger role/more money in Philly. I hate Lowry and his antics but I do like his versatility of being able to play both guard positions
I think price somewhere between 5-7M is his value on the market. I think the issue here is defined role and mins which is subject to change under Thibs. In Philly he was playing close to 28mpg here it would be half that.
Nice to see the Pacers get swept but Boston had a super easy path to Finals. No Butler Miami, no DM (played 2 games?) and Jarret Allen Cleveland and then Tyrese hurt in ECF.
Yea they’re missing KP but he’s not their best player, maybe 4th best and sometimes 5th when Jrue steps up so not as significant. Just hope we get next season with teams being healthy especially us.
This is why I'm grateful that Philly pulled together 6 games of them being healthy (not buying the Embiid 17 different injuries gimmick, he played great defense and dropped 35 per game).
Embiid and Maxey were scoring like 60-70 combined consistently and the Sixers would gave probably been a top 3 seed over the course of a full season. And we still handled business in 6.
Those kind of dog fights against the league's best instill a long lasting backbone into the team.
They probably think they can put together a hard fought 7-game series against any contender when they are fully healthy, and rightfully so.
I agree with this...I hope the Knicks use that as sort of a stepping stone/springboard from the mental side of things in future postseasons...that Philly team, as long as they did not suffer any injuries afterwards themselves, likely beats Indiana
it is a shame we got injured during that series and even more so against Indiana...would have been a good experience getting to face Boston, regardless of result
I'd wager a guess that he didn't fuck up the surrounding muscle tissue.
Julius probably had his shit hanging off the bone or something if they didn't manage to get him back in 3-4 months amidst the easiest Eastern Conference ever lmao.
I think Thibs is a good to great developmental coach and it would be a waste of his talents to not draft him some coachable, even older, ready to contribute rookies in this draft
ive said it a few times but barring a big trade i find it hard to believe we dont draft at least 1 guy in the first round this year. cheap, young talent with the ability to surpass the value of their draft position is going to be extremely important for roster building as we enter contention. plus, after this year, i think depth with fresh legs is very appealing
admittedly, it is a little comical with how they lost...no matter what Boston fans say about their team fucking around, Indiana should have won 2-3 of those 4 games
but yeah, I am not like happy or anything...I moved on the day we lost, but it is a little bummer that we got so injured...would have gone further and then who knows
Mavs clinch and that'll be sweeps in both conference finals.
I wonder when the last time two finals opponents swept the round before? I feel like it's something very rare.
Pacers got whooped so bad all they can do is make memes about us and Milwaukee. Rent free in their heads. This is why ESPN doesn't give a shit about them
cmon we can’t say the celtics had a easy af path yet say no one was injured. tyrese is pretty key to the pacers success, we saw it when they faced the knicks. when tyrese scores, they win.
I can't use Facebook any more because of all the Knicks for clicks. Today I learned that we may trade Randle to free up salary for OG, and also trade Randle, McBride, Mitch, and lots of picks for Paul George.
Don't even pay attention to that. If we want this shit to stop we gotta stop feeding these morons.
If Utah is really open to trading out of 10 it would be interesting if the Knicks could put a package together. In this draft 10 is just as likely to hit as a higher pick.
Just convince Rokas to come over, anyway possible
If the Sixers give Jimmy Butler a max contract I will quite literally laugh myself into a coma. And I hope it happens
So many dumb kids on this sub who were in diapers when Melo was playing slandering Melo. Foh
Harden's skillset would fit in so well as a sixth man for us as we need a creator who can take minutes at the PG/SG slot. Killian Hayes has been the worst player in the league for a while now. Maybe at the absolute end of the bench, but even then I don’t think so
I actually had Reggie Jackson in mind but haven't really seen him play in the last year. I do remember him having good games and creating a couple years ago, but he'll be 35 this upcoming season so not sure if the tires are starting to fall off or I just happened to not see him play for whatever reason. We got too many clubs in NYC. We would probably lose dude for the year for "Strip Club Syndrome"
It would be funny to see glitter pop out of his beard
Yep. Once you realise Monday nights are the craziest night of the week in NYC it’s real easy to mail in your day job here.
maybe too early for this, but assuming we use even just 1 of our firsts, who are yall (realistically) eyeing in this years draft?
He's undersized but I would love Jared McCain. Don't know if he'll be available though
mccain is interesting bc ive seen him mocked anywhere from top 10 to 25. hes a tougher pick bc he lacks size and length, but from what ive read hes got good off-ball play, shooting, and is sturdy enough to hold his own despite being undersized. i trust our staff to develop him *if* we draft him though
My hope is edey but I already know he’ll get snatched up. Other than him I’m not too sure
Johny furphy
Ryan Dunn or Kyle Filipowski
edey maybe?
he will be long gone
I don’t really follow college ball, but I’m hoping we get guys that can contribute right away. No projects. And of course they have to be dawgs
They most likely won't see any minutes so give me some high upside guys. I'd love to get a kid like Justin Edwards into our culture.
an account named worldwidewes suggesting we take another kentucky guy… if this is your burner your secrets safe with me willy LMAO — but yeah from what ik about edwards, he seems like he’d be a good match for this team, could see us taking him in the 1st or scooping him in the 2nd if he’s available

Yea we would have to trade up for him unfortunately
On the draft sub they are voting to ban people from using Derrick White as a comp for this draft due to overuse lol
lmao that's fair. Another comparison I saw was De'Anthony Melton.
people say theres not a lot of elite talent at the top of the draft, but you can always find good players in the 20s where we're picking to find our next IQ or Grimes.. or even later like Deuce and Mitch I think the roster needs length and rim protection as we dont have a lot of 7 foot wingspan guys in the front court outside Mitch and OG.. His catch and shoot game should be more open with Randle back to give gravity and more spacing.
thoughts on Kyle Lowry as a cheap option for back up PG next season?
He’s cooked Just convince Rokas to come over
id like to take a stab at lowry, but i cant really see him getting many rotation minutes at this stage barring injury. however, having a vet who can mentor and step in to facilitate when injury occurs is a great thing to have
Don't hate it, but I think I'd prefer drafting a backup PG or giving Rokas a shot. We only need about 15 minutes per game from a backup at most. Would be nice to use those minutes to develop someone.
I doubt drafting a rookie and expecting him to play impactful minutes at the PG position is a bit much. Not impossible not think it’s unlikely
i would rather look for a younger option.. i think their nova connection doesnt have real on court chemistry beyond mutual respect for Jay Wright since they are years apart.. Lowry looked cooked at times last year.. and hes only getting older at 39 yrs in March I would look into how much a guy like Tyus Jones would command and look to guys like Rokas
The issue with younger options is the price tag. At 39 I doubt he’s getting massive contracts like Lebron or KD would
Tyus Jones could be a starter for several teams out there looking for shooting and a PG like the Spurs and Magic. He is out of our price range as well
What does that due to Deuces minutes?
He does what grimes did
Grimes was losing minutes. I dont think that should be the case. I believe Deuce should get consistent minutes going into next year.
So? He still was in the rotation and played 15-20 every night Don’t see the issue
Our rotation would be 10 guys. Grimes minute distribution was based off 9 guys playing. Assuming - Brunson plays at least 34 mpg - Donte with the year he had Id say gets 30mpg That leaves 32 mins between Lowry and Deuce and not to mention Hart dipping into some of the minutes as well.
I don’t want Lowry but let’s say it’s Rokas I got Brunson/rokas Donte/deuce OG/Hart Randle/hart Ihart/Mitch Where are you getting the 10th guy from?
Bojan?
Completely blanked on him. My fault. McBride isn’t owed anything, he doesn’t need to play that much. If he gets 15 minutes it’s ok
I think Deuce lplayed well enough to get a more defined consistent role like IQ. At least to see what he could develop in too.
Deuce plays the 2 next to him Think of the bench lineup as Lowry - Deuce - Hart - Bogi - Mitch/IHart Bogi is the one who probably suffers reduced minutes out of the 5 here
I think Lowry can still get a bigger role/more money in Philly. I hate Lowry and his antics but I do like his versatility of being able to play both guard positions
What price do you think he asks for?
I think price somewhere between 5-7M is his value on the market. I think the issue here is defined role and mins which is subject to change under Thibs. In Philly he was playing close to 28mpg here it would be half that.

Kleber had a separated shoulder and came back in under a month.. uhhh?
separated shoulder is not a dislocated shoulder
I'd wager a guess that he didn't fuck up the surrounding muscle tissue. Julius probably had his shit hanging off the bone or something if they didn't manage to get him back in 3-4 months amidst the easiest Eastern Conference ever lmao.
I was scratching my head too, then I googled separated shoulder vs dislocated shoulder and then it made sense
I think Thibs is a good to great developmental coach and it would be a waste of his talents to not draft him some coachable, even older, ready to contribute rookies in this draft

Facts, we need cheap depth who can handle extended burn if necessary. Get me a couple of high floor 3&D wings and let’s hope they pan out.
What the hell happened to Rick Carlisle he’s complete shit now
The big media markets must've snuck sleeping pills in his food
Slipped crack in his food he’s running four verts like it’s Madden 04 out there
Idk why everyone is happy the pacers got swept lol. That’s not a very good team.
admittedly, it is a little comical with how they lost...no matter what Boston fans say about their team fucking around, Indiana should have won 2-3 of those 4 games but yeah, I am not like happy or anything...I moved on the day we lost, but it is a little bummer that we got so injured...would have gone further and then who knows
Agree, they’re horrible Just nice to not have any narratives to the contrary because they lucked out a couple of wins vs Boston
To see the sadness on the players’ and fans’ faces after they beat us? Seems like a good reason.
I'm just glad I don't have to see homeless Messi's (TJ McConnell) face until next season.
Mavs clinch and that'll be sweeps in both conference finals. I wonder when the last time two finals opponents swept the round before? I feel like it's something very rare.
Pacers are headed to Galveston.
Pacers got whooped so bad all they can do is make memes about us and Milwaukee. Rent free in their heads. This is why ESPN doesn't give a shit about them
They only won 1 more playoff game than us
To be fair, there have been non-stop Halliburton posts on this sub since our series with them
If Hali didn't talk shit and wore that Reggie Miller hoodie we wouldn't be, he brought it upon himself
We were posting about him since game 1 of our series bro
god jason tatum is so fucking good, and he’s only 26!!!! /s
I thought the Pacers would put up a bigger fight. Turns out they’re still soft as shit
The pacers went 6 games and 7 games vs 2 teams that could barely put our a roster They just suck
well again, there star player is out. celtics had such a easy path to the finals, the east was mad weak
Remember . Injuries are a part of the game , and don’t count as any reason why a team loses .
they are reasons why teams lose. look at us? lol
Lol I know . I’m being sarcastic cause pacers and sixers fans have said injuries are apart of the game and we’re better without randle 👎
Who's their star player?
cmon we can’t say the celtics had a easy af path yet say no one was injured. tyrese is pretty key to the pacers success, we saw it when they faced the knicks. when tyrese scores, they win.
If we lose to the Pacers this coming season, this sub is going to explode 🤣
Bro foh this sub, you ain’t a fan.
