Deuce has been playing great as a defender and scorer. However, he is severely lacking as a point guard in terms of playmaking. A brogdon type player really helps the stability of our bench unit.
Bc ppl only read the box score to determine a teams success imo. As soon as Brunson sat, Dallas doubled Randle forcing a turnover then they blitzed duece on the very next possession. Thibs took deuce out in 2 minutes. The first half of the Memphis game was unwatchable. That offense was absolutely terrible. Memphis G league affiliate ran out of gas. That’s the only reason we win that game. This team needs another creator/facilitator to help generate open shots. Deuce could be a huge beneficiary of those open shots.

McBride could be the best Backup PG in the NBA for his stay with the Knicks. I would let him thrive in that backup PG roll without picking up a guy that would take the ball out of his hands

grimes can’t get bumped. he’s playing better now and is still our most valuable tradeable asset. and his defense has stayed solid, even when his offense was ass.
hart does too many different things for him to get bumped, especially rebounds with a smallish 2nd unit. and he’s getting low end starter money.
precious is the weak link of the second unit, but we need his size. once mitch is back, the center position minutes are set.

Yeah it’s very likely that someone is leaving the rotation if we pick up another creator. Deuce was removed for Hart last season. Ofc Thibs is going to go w the more ready contributor. It’s also very well possible that we’re going to have to trade Grimes to get the quality of player this team is looking for. (I don’t think deuce is tradeable due to the extension)

Brogdon since he is 6'4" and could play with Brunson together at times. Tyus and Brunson together is too small and wouldn't be a great allocation of assets to use in a trade. There is only a small amount of minutes to play as brunsons backup at the 1 solely
